  1. Only £50m? Half of what Tombola needs to gain promotion to the PL.
  2. They're also up to their eyeballs in debt with the ASDA takeover.
  3. Wouldn't that be a huge loss of face for them though - assuming they'd come in and run us like a professional outfit.
  4. What's this rumour about a sale?
  5. Maybe Bell wants to play football? He's been alienated by our manager since January. A few token games at the end of the season before desperately offering him a contract extension because you can't be arsed to find anyone better maybe isn't the golden ticket he's after? Fair play to him if he's told Tombola to fuck off.
  6. "Hi Ryan, as evidenced by the 30+ starts you've had at RB this season and the contract extension on the table we really value you as a football player and consider you our starter going into the 2021/22 season. However, in these dead rubber end of season matches, we'd really like to see what we've got in this next batch of Academy graduates. If all things go to plan we're going to give Pike 20 mins in the next two matches. This does not reflect poorly on you whatsoever. I will be having this conversation with Bell / Brereton / Armstrong et al too. I'm sure you understand". Man management, it's a wonderful thing.
  7. Exactly. All of my friends support PL teams so are out of touch with the rest of football - they see Rovers in mid-table in the Championship and wonder why I gripe so much about the results (how far we've fallen in the public eye, eh?). It's an absolute cloggers league. Norwich and Watford are a class above us (albeit both will get relegated again next season without significant investment), but our squad is comfortably in that next group. Mowbray has to receive an F based on our results this year - his stated target was the Playoffs and finishing 20 points off them is simply inexcusable. He has managed to simultaneously alienate and anger the fan base with his poor tactics and misuse of players. Added to this he's stunted the development of almost every player in the squad and plotted to rid us of our crown jewel, our Cat A Academy. His position should be untenable. Besides having to deal with the Loons in Pune, I'd argue 70% of the managers in the Championship look at our situation with envy - good (albeit not great) squad, v.good Academy, no pressure to sell players (and apparently decent funds when requested) - they'd all back themselves to get us in the Playoffs.
  8. We have 5 subs. What's the harm in bringing Pike on for 20 minutes a game?
  9. Honestly I'm surprised he didn't roll out Bennett too.
  10. Was nice of their keeper to throw two of his shots in the back of his own net, mind.
  11. Nice of ol'Tone to give them a farewell run out. Fucking holiday camp.
  12. In Mowbray's mind he is giving the youngsters a run out. Buckley, Nyambe, Davenport, Brereton. Hell he probably still classifies Armstrong as one.
  13. Probably because he's got a brain and can see this is a sinking ship.
  14. Bell has played like twice in six months. Mowbray is an absolute joker.
  15. As I've said for weeks - if Mowbray is here at the start of the season I won't be. Just an awful manager.
  16. Travis has been sensational today.
  17. The Rotherham commentator on iFollow is LIGHT YEARS better than anyone else I've heard all year. He's professional and actually has a clue about Rovers.
  18. I mean he has 95 PL goals and 71 PL assists. He's just having a poor year by his standards.
  19. I think I need a break from Rovers / the board. Talk of Mowbray in discussions for summer signings has made me sick.
  20. This is why the European Super League protests made me laugh. Get back to me when you've had the worst owners in football for a decade. They've literally killed the club.
  21. Thank you for backing up my point with the stats. Appreciate it.
  22. So is Brereton. The press slaver over him anyway - SKY were gutted earlier in the season when we were on tv and he was on the bench. Their entire pre-game package for Rovers was to talk about a Liverpool loanee (cunts).
  23. Wilder would be a dream appointment, which is why we'll be stuck with Tombola.
