  1. He's LITERALLY a CM running through the middle of the pitch - the ball was palmed out to the penalty spot. If we accepted CMs not doing their job and pointing at their man for someone else to take, Keith Andrews would be a Rovers legend. It's not on the RB - who is essentially playing RWB in this team - to pick up a CM breaking from midfield on a break. It's Holtby's man - Nyambe just ends up closest to him so therefore cops the blame from some.
  2. You've taken this Ben Whiteman transfer hard.
  3. So you think Cleverley broke into the FB position? Basics indeed.
  4. Lenihan the bloke who put a tame cross into his own net, or Holtby one of the CMs who didn't track back with Cleverley? You can't ask your FBs to play so advanced and then blame them for every goal that starts down the flanks. It's why you have 3 CMs - at least one of them is meant to cover for the FBs when they go forward.
  5. No. He's a wide player and needs to continue to play out there if he wants to develop. Currently FBs are standing off him as they've twigged he loves a step over. He needs to play 20 mins a week and either develop another trick or improve his delivery and force them to close him down.
  6. I knew someone would blame Brereton for the first goal. That's a team error. The second goal - since when is Cleverley the RBs man? That's on our three CMs - one of them has to track the runner from midfield. It's why you can't play Evans and Johnson together - they're too immobile.
  7. I think we've battered them. The immobile midfield and Ben Foster having a blinder has been the difference. If we play like that week in, week out, we'll be there or there abouts come the end of the season. Baffling result.
  8. It's not Bell's fault. He's being asked to play almost as a WB. It's on Mowbray to change the system to reflect the fact that Sarr is destroying us down the left.
  9. Dolan has been poor the last two games. He needs a break.
  10. No, both teams were poor. I think most Rovers fans knew we were going to struggle with that starting midfield though.
  11. So you think they played well and created clear cut chances? I seem to recall their undeserved winner taking a cruel / lucky deflection. I think our GK only had one decent save to make. Thrilling(!)
  12. Not if that's your default style of play, no.
  13. He won't learn anything in the U23s. He needs mens football at this point - send him out on loan to L1 if he's not the first CM off the bench (which he probably isn't at this point).
  14. On this performance he'll walk into the team.
  15. What a ridiculous statement. Why bother supporting a team if you're not entertained by them?
  16. Yep, they'll grind out a lot of results with that style of football. I feel sorry for their fans.
  17. Of the two much criticised signings, he's the one that baffled me at the time. Brereton is turning into a very useful player. Gallagher, not so much. Has most of the attributes to be a good PL player, but doesn't use them.
  18. Agree to disagree. At the end of the day I turn up / tune in to be entertained. I HATED the Allardyce era at Rovers.
  19. Completely undeserved, but that's football for you. Also I can see why Hughton struggles to get jobs, despite being successful. Turgid football.
  20. Harsh, I thought he looked useful today.
  21. Bad pass from Armstrong that. Brereton was in.
  22. Anyone arguing that Dolan didn't deserve to be taken off is watching a different game.
