  1. Summed up pretty well, think we signed some decent players, everyone screaming all summer that Mulgrew shouldn’t be starting, loan him him out(if it goes through) and same are saying he shouldn’t have gone, can’t win. 5 players (inc goalie) in defence, we’ve replaced 3 with obviously Lenihan not one needed to replace, only R/B not addressed. Still think Nyambe Tosin Lenihan Cunningham looks a better back 4 than the one started against Charlton, still think Alan Hutton has another season in him at R/B (free agent). Williams decent back up at C/B and then it’s probably Grayson/Nyambe as well. Window not as bad as some saying, could have been better, like you say, all depends on Tosin if he can be the dominant c/h we need, with Walton also commanding that area,
  2. Cunningham very good signing, Johnson very good signing, Tosin hopefully a decent signing, Walton, let’s hope he can cut the crosses out which Raya struggled with, Downing seems he can still do it and Gallagher a decent pacy target man, you don’t seem to have mentioned any of them.
  3. Speeches done. Understand #Rovers tried hard for Harrison Reed and thought they were there until Fulham came in with a deal that blew theirs out the water. Still expecting Cunningham in and Mulgrew out. From Sharp
  4. You want them gone, any names have you? That’s the problem,we know what we would like, but how many names were in the frame last time we were up for sale, you seem to dismiss Bolton/ Bury ( nothing to do do with geographical location) as they are different to us, but Bolton situation could be us, and I personally don’t want to end up like them. I don’t feel that Venkys are uniquely benevolent people, just thankful they keep coming up with the dosh to keep us going, we’ve floated around this division for many seasons, well before they came on the scene, there’s nothing more than I would like than getting back to the Premier, but think it might be more on the Sheffield United model than Boro, Derby etc way.
  5. To be fair I don’t think Rovers are moaning, that’s the fans mainly. You give the impression we shouldn’t worry about FFP, just go for it and spend millions, bit of a dangerous game, we’ve already fell foul of the rules and suffered embargo’s etc, and lucky that didn’t involve points reduction as like Birmingham.Think the management are very concerned of FFP and are managing it best they can. They’ve just chucked in another 9 mil to keep us going so who knows where we are up to re keeping to the rules. We all know what Venkys did back in the day, but like it or not we need them more than they need us at this moment. We all want to get back to the Premiership but not at any cost, because we don’t want to end up like our neighbours Bolton. Does look as though Derby are stretching/ bending the rules and good luck to them, personally think the FFP rules need clarification, because it looks like some clubs are certainly very close to breaking the rules. Lets hope we can stretch to a l/b and c/b before Thursday, but feeling only one to come in unless we offload a couple of bodies.
  6. Well that’s all 3 relegated teams lost first game, think all 3 will be up there though, at the end of season, takes 6/7 games to see a better picture, albeit took Norwich a bit longer last season. Still expect a couple of additions before close of play on Thursday, certainly not panicking yet, but plenty on here are. Left back is major problem as we all know, hopefully a new l/b in for Sat, with City lad replacing Mulgrew.
  7. Why do folk think our fitness has been an issue, think you’ll find Rovers very fit, good fitness coaches.
  8. Just goes to prove what a good job the academy is doing, costs 3 mil a year, and to keep their cat 1 status after relegation to league 1 was unbelievable,we all know how unpredictable our owners can be, but fair play to them to keep investing and looks like it’s paying off. Excited to watch these youngsters coming through and hopefully getting game time this season, some real talent amongst them.
  9. Come on, there’s always been a no 1 and 2, at nearly every club including Rovers, and the coaching team and possibly one or two players ( you saw the bollicking Lenihan gave him in one of his last games) must have thought he will always struggle with crosses, and decided he wasn’t quite good enough, and that also applies to Leutwiler as well, just think Mowbray wanted a bigger lad who hopefully deals with problems in the box better.
  10. Depends on the deal,if it’s 12 months some have a clause saying they can recall after 6 months.
  11. So we don’t really need him, hang on is he C/B and also can play at R/B, 6’4” played 36 games for WBA, any suggestions who we do need?
  12. Because he was dropped for the last few games, and Mowbray probably gave him the impression he wouldn’t be no 1, pretty simple really, Raya was a decent keeper but lacked certain qualities and Mowbray decided he was going to bring someone in. Raya probably wouldn’t have been happy at no 2 so off he pops, why should there not be something right, that’s football,it happens.
  13. Probably a lot longer than you think, we’ve all seen the wage he’s on and we will be doing all we can for City to pay as much as we can squeeze out of them, also how long, 6 months, full season, takes a lot of negotiating with possibly other clubs in the mix as well.
  14. How long has Venkys been here, it’s how they do their business and they aren’t going to change, I was told in the very early days by Simon Williams (son of John) that you wouldn’t believe how they operate, he said, if you can imagine how it’s done in Britain, well turn it completely around and that’s how they run all their businesses, everything has to be signed off in India, nothing new, just frustrating when we all want new faces through the door, hopefully better news tomorrow. Travis new contract was obviously signed off before today, but when you are negotiating loans/ buys details must change right up to the last minute, and then they have to contact the bosses in India for the green light.
  15. Bit daft, do you think so,I’m talking to folk on this forum, they don’t seem to appreciate bringing guys through, only spending millions. NOT a daft comment thank you.
  16. I know most on here won’t agree, probably not bothered unless we’re spending millions on new players, but the young talent Rovers are bringing on is excellent, not only that but signing them on long contracts as young Travis has just done. This latest bunch, Buckley, Butterworth, Travis, Magloire etc is great news for Rovers fans and proving that the money invested in the academy is working. We are going to have to get used to the idea of bringing these youngsters through and buying one or two experienced ones as well,as the way forward, and if we have to cash in now and again,so be it, because I’ll tell you now Buckley will end up with one of the big boys for a lot of dosh.
  17. A queue to buy us, oh dear, bet thats what Bolton/ Bury fans thought, well some of them.
  18. Have you seen our debt, well over 100 mil, they invest every month just to keep us going, have you been keeping up with Bolton, must be heartbreaking for their fans, not sure what you mean saying they don’t invest, doesn’t matter how much people hate the owners, the truth is we need them more than they need us, sometimes it’s better the devil you know.
  19. Good point is that, always nice for a calming experienced C/B but sometimes lack of pace means a younger guy can be a better buy/loan, I’m happy to let Mowbray and his coaching staff get the personnel in who can improve the squad.
  20. Hmm,think he’s going to sort out the goalkeeper situation and defenders, according to all reports, and still keep in FFP regs, which is not easy, other clubs have had to sell the grounds etc to comply, pointless to keep going back and blaming Venkys (we all know they screwed up) but whatever you think of them,we need them to keep pumping money in every month, yes I know we can be like Bournemouth,Leicester etc but teams like Fulham who are mega rich still get relegated, and you mention Bolton/ Bury and don’t want to be compared with, but we could easily end up like them if the owners decide to cut and run. I’m just grateful we aren’t in their position and very hopeful we can have a decent season.
  21. 12 mil,? Obviously you’re on about Bereton, do you also mean the 5 mil on Gallagher, who you said previously was a good buy?
  22. Jonny Heyes is a winger who was on the bench, unused sub, more likely him.
