  1. Oh dear, have a look at the history of BRFC think you’ll find the majority of our time has been spent in the second tier of English football, nothing wrong with that, as long as you strive to get to the top tier, but you have to do it in budget and hopefully money available. Too say Cunningham wasn’t an excellent signing because he only played 10 games, when probably most Rovers fans knew he was, tells me you can’t see a decent player, would love him to come back as we was a very decent acquisition.
  2. When you say it hasn’t worked for us, you mean we haven’t been promoted, for a club like us we have to have a balance of buying and loaning. Think with Cunningham and Tosin they were two excellent loans, shame the lad from Cardiff got a serious injury. Hardly any signings so far in the championship, think all the signings will be late on, just wish folk can have a bit of patience. We’ve seen it many times with name’s thrown in, then someone else is signed who’s not been mentioned. Personally think we’ve made steady progress in the last 3 years and if we can improve this season it will do for me. Going to be a very challenging season for every club due to the current climate, with no income coming in, and hopefully get back to normality soon as. Looking at Venkys figures and they like other firms been hit hard. The share price in 12 months has gone from a high of 1942 inr to a low in April of 580 inr, but has come back to 1052 inr last week, so let’s hope they have a few quid in their back pockets for us.
  3. Sheffield United seemed to be ok with loaning a goalkeeper..
  4. Can you give me a long list of new additions in the championship, not sure you can, let’s wait until everyone starts signing a few before we start the usual club calling.
  5. Why react to a link as though we have signed him, even if true everyone knows we need 2 goalies, could be for back up, let’s wait and see who we sign before beating up everyone at the club.
  6. You have someone lined up to buy us have you, do you actually think there are loads of rich folk, consortiums etc waiting in the wings, I don’t think so. Took us a couple of years for the Walker trust to sell us, a premier league club, only 20 odd million and a sound club. We all know what happened, mainly due to taking advice from a certain agent, unfortunately we cant turn the clock back, but folk wishing for us to go in administration, lose 12 points and get some chancer to take us forward need to get a grip. The serious money people don’t want a club like Rovers, hemorrhaging money every week.Being in the championship and steadily improving isn’t as bad as you think, sometimes better the devil you know, ask Wigan, Bolton, Bury fans.
  7. You rather have the ex Wigan owner, ex Bolton, Bury or Blackpool. Nobody’s saying hip hip hooray Venkys, but what’s happened has gone, and just grateful they keep us going.
  8. Just can’t justify what you say, like another poster has said, TM has only sold one player for cash(Raya) and that was because of a few clangers and obviously thought he could get the foreigners in for G/K which didn’t come off, so we had to loan Walton, who isn’t much different to Raya, hopefully that position will be sorted in the next few weeks. You would think Rovers fans knew the script in transfer windows by now, as TM has said every window, we have a pot but not massive, so we can’t just jump in and pay the first asking fee a club asks. We have to bide our time and hope the price comes down, sometimes another club nip in and buys at whatever price, sometimes we have to go to plan B (cheaper). To be honest I’m just grateful that Venkys keep throwing in 7/8 mil every season to keep us going. Think we’ve all seen Blackpool: Bury ,Bolton and Wigan all go pear shaped, and touch wood I don’t want us to go the same way. We have made steady progress since promotion and will just have to be patient.
  9. How can we sell tickets when we don’t know how many matches will be on offer. Preston sent out the same statement as Rovers yesterday. Clubs like Everton can sell the lot, different ball game altogether comparing to clubs like that, they have waiting lists like many of the big clubs.
  10. We have a budget for transfer fees and wages and 30k a week isn’t part of it, just trying to explain how crazy the market is, and how difficult it is to compete. Many on here said we were crazy paying 3 mil for Armstrong and all of a sudden there’s allegedly premier league clubs lining up to buy him, love to know how much our top earner is on.
  11. No, he’s similar age to Lonergan. 36 ish think he went same school.
  12. You’re right, a lad was telling me from Preston his best mate is Andy Lonergan and the last close season he was training with a non league side, after being loaned out at Rochdale at the end of the previous season, and out the blue Liverpool came in for a 3rd goalie who was English,(needed for Europe) and believe it or not his wage was £30000 a week, very difficult for Rovers to compete these days.
  13. In your opinion, think you will find Grayson very much in the managers thoughts, as long as he’s over his bad injury. He will be in front of Wharton,Magloire and Carter,IMO. Good solid defender.
  14. Probably 5’6’’ Ronnie Hildersley’s lad ?
  15. Not quite 6’5’’ but if true let’s hope he turns out like Samba.
  16. First time I’ve heard the Blackburn end called the “town end” ?

  18. Sorry, can’t say anymore because I don’t know anymore, but he seemed to be sure. Seen another rumour from Rovers camp saying week after, probably find out very shortly, obviously all depends on no spikes and continuing to improve.
  19. June 6th the restart, I believe. From a Preston source who will play Luton, assume Rovers play Bristol City if true.
  20. Sad news Norman Hunter died with coved-19 ... Top player in his time.
  21. Hilarious some of these comments, obviously we had a bad day, also Derby a good home side, whatever happens we’ve had a decent season, Bristol at home, Wigan and Barnsley away, let’s see where we are then. Walton outstanding again after all the stick he’s had, but watching City goalie conceding a really soft goal against Utd, and these top goalies cost £50 mil plus. I personally think Walton is better than Raya, Brereton struggling, just not working for him, Gallagher average, keep the faith still only 3 points off play offs.
  22. Good post, spot on,I like Rothwell but he needs to do more, think he will end up a top player one day.
