Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas

A minor point but it keeps distracting me that the word "off" is in different places within the main sentence at the top and then the bottom -

The letter encapsulates exactly my feelings and those of my family. I really hope its at least read in India as my suspicion is we are close to the end game here. Well done to all who have had involvement. -

Afternoon all, apologies for dragging this one up again! I've seen a post via the x page of kidderstnoise suggesting ticket holders for this (presumably if you didn't then take a half price ticket for the rearranged game) are entitled to a 40% refund as per the efl policy. I've emailed the club who state that's not the case, has anyone had any success with this? -
I can't figure out Gardner-Hickman, he never seems to do that much and yet when he's not on the field we seem to be overrun in midfield far more easily

In response to messages re TV that the system won't let me quote...I was of the understanding this is a rescheduled sat 3pm game and therefore couldn't be shown on sky sports + but you're right, it is now showing on the schedule -
Probably not the right thread but as good as any.... A thought has crossed my mind, are Rovers in more financial strife than we realise? It feels to me that the discounts on shirts, clothing ranges, hospitality and other areas are significantly more prevalent than they have been before. There's also the recent oddly structured flexible ticket, weirdness around a 150th anniversary shirt, cost cutting on the anniversary celebration itself. We're used to ridiculousness over the last 15yrs but that's never translated yet to what appears to be a desperate need to get cash into the club. Throw in the relatively recent apparent finalisation of a court case, possible venkys share price drop and what can only be described as a complete reluctance to hire a CEO and I just wonder if things are worse then we know

Initial thoughts: Miller looked knackered and I think probably injured but there's no options off the bench. Gudjohnsen should score the 2nd. De Neve didn't understand the system and was badly exposed defensively. Forshaw was too slow to adapt to the game, their goal came from a lack of grip in midfield that became apparent as soon as Taylor Hickman went off. Gueye honestly offers nothing. Pears was fine Pratt was good Hedges was mostly good until his final ball. The shot he pulled to the left should have been a pass and a tap in for at least 2 rovers players in the box. Ultimately we could easily have won the game, it was fine margins but as ever - the quality of players means we lose those tight matches and that comes down, ultimately, to Gestede and Pasha. -

It just occurred to me that the rumoured 4th kit still hasn't been announced which surely means, with less than a week to go, it isn't going to exist now? -

Interesting this comes immediately after the Wednesday fans stayed away. I've seen comment that the refusal to spend £1 more than necessary in the ground or on official merchandise has pushed Chansiri into the inevitable, that feels to me like the best approach Rovers could take too - don't give the club anything more than you have to. Without the revenue streams their issues will be compounded. I know this will hurt the club short term but long term apathy will mean there is no club for the 160th anniversary. -
I actually don't think this seasons results are linked to managerial quality, the fact is that a lot of our players just aren't very good.

As detailed earlier in the thread though, half price is the EFL regulations so they are literally charging as much as they can. -

I've emailed the club knowing full well it will do no good. They haven't agreed anything with Ipswich, they've done the absolute bare minimum they have to do with ticket prices in line with the EFL guidelines. I never expected anything else from the hollowed out shell that is Blackburn Rovers but I have asked if they intend on keeping the children's tickets money given this is now mid week on a schoolnight -
This club is a shadow of the one I've been supporting for 40 years. How dare they suggest this is done to protect the best interest of the fans, I don't believe there is anyone left at Blackburn Rovers that actually cares about what we have become and it makes me genuinely sad that this is the legacy being passed on to the rapidly shrinking next generation of fans.

And don't you dare bring a bag of monster munch either - that'll be seized and you'll face a 3 year ban -

Weather is looking awful, let's hope there's no late cancellation again. I fancy a 1-1 draw with Gudjohnsen starting and netting on his way to 15 goals before January and a £10m move to Southampton -
Is anyone else having issues with digital tickets this year? I had no issues last year at all but for the Birmingham game my tickets wouldn't download to the Google wallet and having just bought for Ipswich I'm having a similar issue, the club are zero help so I assume it's not a widespread issue but I wondered if it were just me and my slightly knackered phone...

Jordan Rhodes =Loans Manager
ElTwis replied to philipl's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I'm calling this now - Jordan Rhodes will be the next Rovers manager. Exactly like Gestede effectively becoming CEO, he's a cheap option and no doubt will just say yes to whatever Pasha wants. -

This bag policy is absolutely outrageous if there's genuinely no wiggle room in it. I bring 3 kids and a rucksack containing reusable water bottles and some snacks, no way that fits in a4 size, are the club honestly saying that's not allowed! I've emailed to ask because it feels entirely cynical based around forcing me to spend more and, no doubt, stopping the Pasha Out sign coming in -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
ElTwis replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
This was a really interesting moment actually, someone else was lined up for the corner (Ribeiro possibly?) and VI made a big deal about swapping them over but I thought at the time he looked really reluctant about it. His comments post game reinforce that feeling as his unhappiness about set pieces are surely crystallised by that corner. Do we think Ben Benson is still in charge of set pieces? -

I'm just calming down after that ending today. It's a game of fine margins and from my seat it looked like a great save from a Gueye (?) header seconds before the penalty that would have put the result out of sight. Defence looked sound and I think Mcloughlin looked excellent and is the new Baath in terms of bringing the best out of Hyam. The midfield is not settled and we don't know how to fit everyone in the team. Tavares was much deeper than Tuesday that didn't seem to suit him. Cantwell seemed a different payer with the armband on, no sulking or gesticulating but he's still not at his best. I liked Kargbo on the right, that seemed to work but it pushed Ohashi left and we just didn't have anyone in the middle. It's not a problem unique to this season but we desperately need a natural striker, so many times there just wasn't anyone lurking in the middle. Ultimately, I think we lost because our players are mid-low level championship quality and that's where I suspect we finish this year. Side note - the awarding of caps beforehand was embarrassing. The club is a shadow of itself and Jack would be ashamed of anyone trying to claim any sort of veneer. As I type this I wonder if its harsh but not one person with any sort of profile over the last 30 years has stood up to say the Venkys era has been unacceptable. -

Best case scenario here is CB is trying to add a few quid to his wages through an agent encouraging offers to force Rovers' hands. Worst case (and significantly more likely I'd suggest) the offers have been submitted because the clubs are aware he wants to leave and, let's be honest, who can blame him. -

Hard to be sure but my interpretation of the last 15yrs is the only leverage that's had a modicum of success is when the family name (and to a lesser extent brand name) is brought into things, particularly on a stage likely to be seen in India. I genuinely believe that this tactic, combined with non-confrontational engagement has the best chance of creating meaningful change.
