Doesn’t matter if the bloke was a prick, public statements need some degree of professionalism. I’d call it amateur, but non league clubs operate with more gravitas.
-
Yep, been posting very oddly and out of character has Parson recently. The bloke deserves some professional courtesy if nothing else - but of course you’d need some courteous professionals running the gaff to offer that.
-
Strangest bloke on a very strange site that one. Used to be vehemently anti-Venky, now worships the ground they walk on.

So pretty much two months later for getting them on sale than last season. What a ridiculous football club. -
Venky’s v Indian Government (a)
Mattyblue replied to tomphil's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Not this again, Bolton and Rovers are similarly supported clubs, always have been, so it is very comparable. Just because arbitrarily drawn Bolton borough is bigger than BwD doesn't give them a bigger fanbase. The majority of our ST base now resides outside of BwD anyway as confirmed by The Trust, the Bolton fanbase is much more contained within their sizeable borugh that covers a lot of neighbouring towns . -
Venky’s v Indian Government (a)

Yes they would still average 20k even through a crap season because they have 16k+ ST holders already in the tent for the season, so they can’t not hit 20k crowds - but yes it would be interesting to see what would happen to their ST sales the following year if they had a bottom half third division season, even at bargain prices. -
Probably will be one in name as it gives the pretence of continuity and that we actually have a plan. But in reality his wings will be clipped and the Suhail/Swag axis will one again be in full control.

Well obviously I don’t know. But I would deem it highly improbable that ten thousand plus fans who stopped going 11/12 years ago and now do all manner of other things with their time and money would suddenly be charging back to watch second division football just because the ownership had changed. Or fans generally who have stopped going more recently because they are being charged top whack for a crap product would again come straight back because of a different name on the door. Or the general floating or lapsed fan that just doesn’t want to put their hand in the pocket for the current crap product at top prices. The reason gates can’t grow is because of the said crap product at top prices this regime implements, not the regime itself. If the owners oversaw an improvement in one or preferably both of those, crowds would increase, quick (they won’t because, you know, Venky’s). -

I hate those that have somehow ended up owning/running my club, obviously that’s the same for most on here. Nobody hates the club itself or why would they be on here getting so het up about it? -

The club has a habit of releasing STs etc on a Friday, so if it isn’t tomorrow then yes they are definitely waiting for Bolton. -

I think they do see the bigger picture, but it goes back to your second point - they don't care about it. As why would they when the strategy that comes down from the non long term-CEO are are set to short term revenue targets, not bums on seats (just like his targets and bonus funnily enough) Just rinse the core and forget about the future fanbase. -
Kaminski, another one given away though I was assured by a few on here it was a ‘good price’.

Yep, a few on here (who really should know better after 14 long years) still thinking this is a normal football club.

‘John Eustsce doesn’t think has been told Rovers don’t need major surgery this summer’ -
Very lucky too. Like Chelsea twenty years ago they got to initially spend huge to get up to elite level - Newcastle would’ve been the same, but haven’t been allowed to.

Course players don't, 'show me the money' is usually the top and tail of it. My point was more the fact the article is making out we have some sort of dynamic exec team flying in to close deals... I'm not quite sure who those would be, maybe Venkatash. -
So now the 'model' is now *not* young players to polish and sell on for a profit? You see it's why I don't ever take any notice to what the latest 'plan'/'model'/'philosophy' is at BRFC (unlike a certain few posters on here) as before you know it the whole thing has been chucked in a skip and we have a totally new approach under whoever the flavour of the month at the club now is. There is no plan at this club under these owners, never has been, never will be. It just stumbles on from year to year.

What ‘exec’ would that be then? Swag, Suhail? 🤦♂️ -
Call it what you want, ‘boycott’, ‘protest’, or just sick of watching and being treat like shite for a decade. But to go from nearly 20,000 ST holders when they bought the club to, what? 6/7k next term means it’s happening regardless of labels and anything organised.
-
I don’t blame Sky, they’ve got 10 channels to fill - blame the greedy clubs, they didn’t have to take the offer. Though of course the best bit of all this is the extra revenue will go straight in the clubs’ account and straight back out again into that of the players and agents.
-
Not sure ‘help us stay out of League 1!’ Is much of a driver to buy a £400/£500 season ticket but there you go.
-
To me the EFL is suffering from hubris. They’ve seen attendances boom everywhere (well, almost everywhere) and they think they can follow the Premier League model of more, more, more TV and it won’t impact bums on seats. But the clue is in the name, the ‘premier’ league, it is the elite level and has an enormous national and global profile so can withstand saturation coverage, it can withstand fans being pissed about - I’d wager the EFL can’t and the high watermark of lower league crowds has now been hit and crowds will start to decline in the medium term.
-
Of course. That’s why offers/reductions have to be timed right to dovetail with a bit of positivity/momentum around the club, we’ve had opportunities over the past few seasons to do it… but that certainly ain’t this summer.
