  1. Are they even particularly good shot stoppers? They stop some, as any pro goalkeeper would, but they also let plenty of saveable efforts go through them, under them, over them. Both poor and a new keeper has to be a priority.
  2. The money wasn’t good, as the entire game knows full well, but I agree the fact we will spend zero of it is also not good, but the very reason why the money wasn’t good is also the reason we won’t be spending it - it was a fire sale.
  3. We obviously didn’t get a good price as proven by the other 20 year old in the Championship.
  4. Some excellent suggestions, but if they pretty much ignore the lot where do you stand engagement wise going forward with the executives at Ewood?
  5. Lies, damn lies and… We’ve gone from 8 to 9k ST holders, yes that’s an increase, 9 is higher than 8 after all, but it’s a very low bar in comparison to pretty much the whole division. It’s nothing to be proud of, though it will be bonuses and slaps on the backs all round. But lets use that as a baseline regardless and let’s continue to build… so do you (and the club) foresee that progress continuing next season? And if not, why?
  6. So you think the club is in a good place on the pitch?
  7. PL scouting isn’t based on U21 caps or even just assists, they are looking for that ‘wow’ factor and he had it. But maybe you’re right, maybe the rest of us are. But it is only a debate because of the owners flogging him as soon as they feasibly could, a distressed seller is never going to get top whack - but yes, if it was, say, next January that he was sold his price could well have shot up post another year of assists, goals and U21 caps, and he would still have years left on his contract. We’ll never know because of the club killers in situ.
  8. You certainly have an issue with the commercial side, who doesn’t. You do though seem to be happy enough with the football side.
  9. Yep off our heads to think we could get something similar to another 20 year old who made the move just months earlier. But at the end of the day something is only worth what folk will pay - and yep, we weren’t getting much more when a ‘please buy him, we can’t pay our bills’ sign was stapled to his forehead.
  10. Nobody expected £60million, bloody hell. But the price we did get was shite, as proven by Bristol City - but as to be expected when the seller is desperate.
  11. The figure we got was a piss take. Should’ve gone for £25million (with add ons) and a sizeable sell on, of course. Don’t see why not considering another 20 year old was sold for that in this division - and he’s no Adam Wharton. He didn’t and we all know why.
  12. Like I said PL FFP issues aren’t the problem of the selling club, he had a long contract and therefore he stays until we get given a serious bid - we took the crap (FFP impacted or otherwise) money on offer because the owners can’t fund their business and we had to cash in immediately to keep the lights on. Another shameful episode from those shameless people.
  13. Not our problem that PL clubs have FFP issues. It was a piss poor deal for BRFC purely so the club can clean up after its disgraceful owners - and it’s fairly obvious that those in the game know it.
  14. ‘£25million, with adds on to £30million, don’t want to meet that? Fuck off then’, should have been the negotiation. But no… ‘ please take us off our hands Palace, the VAT bill’s due.’
  15. Can someone please help Longers reset his password?
  16. Vinjay and Man Utd, that’s about it really.
  17. You’re right, the power struggle is now over.
  18. A United connection and the Vinners bat signal appears.
  19. Which is madness but very much believable if anybody has had the (mis)fortune to deal with Indian bureaucracy. My dealings have been with their civil service, granted, but getting one fairly simple document signed can take months on end. As always, they will never be the right fit for an industry as fast paced as English football.
  20. If it’s obvious why are we the only club in England without them on sale?
  21. He certainly isn’t in a weaker position as of today.
  22. 24th March they went on sale last year. We must have a really solid cash flow at the moment, so obviously no rush. I mean, otherwise we’d have to sell our top players for peanu…oh
  23. You see this is the problem Rev. I’ve stepped back from the ‘but who’s the actual problem?’ question to you, because I know it annoys you, I’m not a troll, you know. But even now (!) you are trying to paint the disgrace of what went on - you know, the owners not putting money into their business because they are under investigation for financial impropriety- ergo the crown jewel being flogged for peanuts just to keep the leccy on, and that is *still* because they are being badly advised.
  24. Totally different and you know it. If posters think admin is worthwhile to rid us of these club wreckers then that’s one argument (don’t agree personally, but I see the ‘short term pain’ angle they are going for). But wanting relegation just so ‘roverboy95’ can get one over on ‘Blueboy96’ on this obscure message board? Err no.
  25. It wouldn’t work, as in, on the pitch, but the fact a bloke that has been long been seen as the wise old owl of BRFCS thinks it’s a marvellous idea tells you it would appease plenty out there.
