  1. Surely the final league position is the main barometer to a manager’s competency or otherwise?
  2. On sale tomorrow by the looks of it. According to their forum they’ve had the tickets for a few days now but didn’t want to put them on sale pre selling out their PNE away allocation.
  3. But if you are happy with the team’s position, why would you not even go to matches because of the bloke picking it?
  4. With no ST holders in there to swell the numbers from, and no discounted tickets that would attract a fan to pick there over the usual part of the ground they choose. How many are they actually expecting to suddenly rock up in the DEnd at £25 for a run of the mill game? If there’s more than 250 I’d be amazed. Absolute amateur hour down there.
  5. Is ‘the club’ (whoever the hell that is these days) succession planning right now? I would wager not, so we will in all likelihood be scrambling around in mid summer trying to find a manager… yet we’ve known for three years that the fella in situ is out of contract in June 2022, so every chance we’d need somebody in. STs, contracts, managers, you name it, all a late, tail chasing job, as we are totally at the whim of distant owners who seemingly decide everything in one summer meeting on the other side of the world. Ridiculous way to run a professional football club…
  6. Top 6 is good enough, but the manager who has the team in that position isn’t? And not only that, you won’t even go to matches because of the bloke who has the team in the position you deem good enough? Doesn’t really compute that, sorry.
  7. I thought Sky usually picked good teams to keep putting on? 🤷‍♂️
  8. I.e. he missed large swathes of most seasons (his personal winter break being standard) pre coming here…
  9. Those videos are why I can still tell you about pretty much every goal we scored between say 1992 and 1998… but these days I’m fecked if you even ask me about one from last season!
  10. And ‘St George’s Day’ has been a big event since when? Total cop out (see what I did there).
  11. We used to for for Sunday dinner fairly often. Mothers Day meals etc etc. Just basic stuff for any hospitality/leisure business, ‘sweating the assets’ and all that, instead of the pretty much moth balled place Ewood now is outside match days…
  12. Tickets won’t be any cheaper, they don’t bother with all that Category nonsense there - but yeah, no problem getting one now.
  13. Lancs police all over. The ridiculous overkill for the Dingle games are testament to that…
  14. Nothing’s changing for the EFL, I believe…
  15. I don’t get that impression at all. Boos, yes, ‘Tony, sort it out!’, standard. Calls for his head? Cant see it. I stand to be corrected, but if we continue to fall away and finish about 9th I don’t foresee much more than a collective shrug; in the stands, in the dugout, in the ‘boardroom’. We’ll find out either way soon enough.
  16. No I don’t expect anyone better to replace him, he’s done fine with the budgets he’s had in this league. My point was more that outside perhaps, Dalglish and Hughes, top, top managers for us in their own ways, I’ve never known any other manager be so bulletproof with large swathes of the support as this mon is. I suppose it’s a sign of how standards and expectations have nosedived since this shower turned up nearly 12 years ago…
  17. No PL game has been chosen for that night, so every chance. The price of ‘success’, ay…
  18. ‘Never refuse a cheque’
  19. Videos, I suppose. But we are pretty much the only club from non league and up that I’ve come across without a programme…
  20. Will it be finally be announced as the ‘Tony Parkes Riverside’ at the Blackpool game? Seems apt as it’s his official fundraising game - and it is yet another thing Swag’s been ‘looking into’ (for about two years now)…
  21. It’s all anecdotal, as around me I’d get my head bitten off if I even offered up mild criticism. He signs a new contract on the pitch pre KO against Blackpool and I certainly wouldn’t expect to hear much in the way of dissent. ‘Good move by the club’ ‘Who else we going to get?’, ‘STABILISED the club!’
  22. Don’t see that myself. Yes, there was the age old ‘Manager X, sort it out’, but that has always been the go to chant for whenever the team is in a rut. He’s still Teflon Tony at Ewood.
  23. Yeah good riddance, ay 1864?
  24. These owners don’t replace the pitch, never mind a stand…
