  1. Just the near £20million lower than what Man Utd paid for Maguire…
  2. Ok, Wigan and Blackpool, Lanky games down the road, good for a few beers. Though still not sure what’s ‘tasty’ about them. Stoke? Don’t particularly see the difference to playing a Derby or Forest
  3. Sorry that’s a cop out, you can’t just look at TM’s reign in isolation whatever the title of the thread is (which you know as you’ve been on this forum long enough to know how it works). You have backed these owners to the hilt despite no evidence, at all, that they have changed. At times you have come out with some absolute ridiculous stuff like TM and Swag are rogue employees in effect working against those well meaning owners. No, no, no, the buck stops with them, full stop, just like it did under Kean, just like it did under Coyle - THEY are the common denominator, THEY are those letting the infrastructure rot, THEY have seen this grand old institution wither on the vine, not whoever the latest incompetent (who they appoint and keep in situ, by the way) is in the executive or coaching positions. It’s time the scales fell from your eyes when it comes to those utter disgraces in Pune.
  4. What’s ‘tasty’ about playing Stoke, or Wigan, or Blackpool?
  5. An Aussie, Saffer and Sri Lankan… says a lot.
  6. Four years? Try twelve. Yet, there were those on here, who frankly, should know much better trying to make out that things were changing for the better at the club. Nothing will, or can, change when owned by a far away family that have zero interest themselves, yet still don’t empower (or employ competent) people on the ground. Completely dysfunctional and success will not and cannot occur with such a set up.
  7. We heard all this about TM being on the way out last season. Though of course, he now actually has to sign a new offered deal instead of the owners shrugging their shoulders and letting him crack on for another 12 months. But until I see the infamous corner flag tweet, I’ll be remaining dubious of such gossip.
  8. Unlikely, they don’t have any.
  9. Oh I agree with you, difference being we never made out that we were some Uber-passionate unique fanbase back in the 2000s, they certainly always did and would prove it if they ever became the big boys in east Lancs…
  10. The novelty has worn off for the fans of a small PL club to go away from home in big numbers year after year… though, of course, when we took followings in the hundreds to some PL games it was because of our ‘pathetic support’ and ‘lack of passion’ (unlike them, obviously).
  11. I would wager the percentage of Rovers ST holders with a Blackburn postcode is far, far lower than it was 25 years ago, yet we do far, far less engagement outside that area than we did back then, go figure.
  12. I’m all for ticket deals, as I’m sure you lot are all aware of! However, £15 or £25 won’t make a massive difference when on such a horrendous run. And we’ll see evidence of that with a pitiful take up of £10 tickets in a couple of weeks if we’ve mathematically fallen away by then…
  13. I sit in NO1, and a lot of fans in that section don’t stand, so I can imagine there would be a lot of annoyance if they suddenly turned it into a standing area, though fan feeling didn’t stop them when it came to shutting down parts of the ground. …all moot this discussion anyway as there’s not a chance the club will invest in it anytime soon.
  14. To be fair, there aren’t many leggies that don’t offer up a fair few boundary balls, you won’t get the control that an off break bowler will generally provide…
  15. Of course there’s a market for a hotel just off the M65, as the proliferation of them over the last few years makes clear. As Chaddy personally wouldn’t stay in a hotel around here, because it’s obviously where he already resides, he, as usual, struggles to realise others will…
  16. Dyche was actually not one of the worst paid, his last deal had him up with the top half of earners as they realised he was the only thing keeping them on the gravy train…
  17. End of the day Lambert didn’t work out, but that’s football, however his appointment, his staff, all pointed to a club and owners finally getting a grip, we seemed fairly normal again… they then brought in Coyle.
  18. Have to agree 1864, if he wants to stay, he’ll stay, is the way it looks to me…
  19. 8-10 signings needed? Sounds like the club is in a bit of a mess…
  20. Is it obvious? His apathetic demeanour is no different than last season… but of course a month left on his contract is the big difference.
  21. Presumably because the document to sign it off, sent by fax (or telegram or carrier pigeon?), hasn’t yet been in Venky Towers…
  22. My WhatsApp Rovers group that is staunchly pro-TM certainly wasn’t last night… though it was the same in the horror run last season and they all did a reverse ferret over the summer….
  23. Typical Rovers to finally get STs on sale pre the close season… but in the midst of the most consequential prolonged on pitch collapse in decades. Roll up, roll up…
  24. They’ll have played two of their fast running out games by Thursday night, crackers to sack someone of Dyche’s stature (who had just beaten their biggest relegation rival, by the way, and have a fair few winnable home games coming up) if there was nobody being parachuted straight in and you are relying on youth coaches short term…
