  1. It won’t happen for a full season. No way will they take the risk of cannibalising ST sales, they have their ticket income targets to hit and they know c9k STs at £350-£500 will do that. The obvious solution is to just make STs cheaper so if you can’t make a few games it’s still worth buying one. It’s that simple - but refer back to paragraph one for why they won’t do that either.
  2. They won’t open the upper tier permanently until demand is significantly higher. More likely they’d close the Riverside.
  3. Sheff Utd v Cardiff on a Thursday night… The Magic of the Cup, ay…
  4. I think it's a great idea for fans. If they brought one out in the summer even I (as a ST holder for decades) would probably get one as getting to night games is a right faff for me, so a cheaper 16 game flexi ticket instead? Nice one. So ergo ST sales would collapse as thousands would be in the same boat and night match crowds would be down at 5/6,000 as folk will be 'flexing' to the day games instead. If the club isn't bothered about said collapse in ST sales, maybe they'll still offer one to cover the full season in the summer, but I'd be amazed if they did.
  5. Nick Collins, his nemesis! (I’m going back to bed for a little cry now).
  6. His face used to have that constant smirk that was saying ‘yer getting feck all from me’.
  7. That’s fanbases. Some are committed to going to games every week more than others are. Crowds will be bigger for one off bigger games, or every week if you make season tickets significantly cheaper or if you get success (I.e you end up in the PL). The way it is, the way it’s always been. No point getting irate about it.
  8. Ian Wright left the BBC/MOTD recently, from memory. As for Murphy, jobs for the boys in the media. Micah Richards is another example of that, pops up everywhere.
  9. Got in a Wiki wormhole like you do re this Greenland stuff. JDT = time traveller. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danish_people_in_Greenland
  10. Only in VenkyWorld would a CEO have to get transactions big or small approved by his COO…
  11. …which they won’t do anyway as they are ‘critical friends’.
  12. Half the problem is there is too much media engagement with managers. The social media clip/SSNews isation of the game. Pressers, pre game, post game multiple times every single week at all levels. Who cares what whoever the Wolves manager is has to say for the 8th time this week? I bet even he doesn’t.
  13. I’d be very surprised if they did it for a full season as you’d see a steep fall in full ST sales as a result, as why bother if you struggled to make night games or moved games etc.
  14. Don’t most British managers speak in a fairly cliched fashion? ‘Take every game as it comes, you know’, ‘working hard on the training ground’.
  15. Same with a pathetic amount of early round League Cup exits under him. What a breath of fresh air JDT was on that score.
  16. Of course. So not thoughtful Sky thinking of the fans after all when it actually matters...
  17. You aren’t ‘invested’ as a Rovers fan if you found it boring, think most saw it as a poor quality game of football.
  18. Exactly right. It was poor quality fayre for a lot of it, but you can’t be too invested as a Rovers fan if you thought it was boring.
  19. However, the notice period isn’t so great at this point of the season . They haven’t chosen March games yet. So say a Norwich fan coming to Ewood on the 1st (only 7 and a half week away now), it could well be moved, so their fans either take a chance with their train or they wait and see prices creep up and up.
  20. End of the day if clubs across the EFL don’t see a fall in ST sales in the summer after a year of fans being constantly pissed about then they’ve got to have their cake and eat it. However, if there is a fall then they haven’t got away with their greed and Sky will be broadcasting emptier grounds next season. So we’ll see.
  21. So no more ‘critical friendship’? Believe it when I see it. The likes of Mike Graham seem to be a long way from pulling the pin…
  22. ‘Other’ fans, fine. Dingles? Not really equivalent to a Stoke fan, are they? We have two regulars already. How many do we need?
