  1. Well nobody was comparing them as styles of goalkeeper, so you’ve gone off on your own tangent. Walton as Brighton first choice? I suppose they could get relegated at some point.
  2. As will every other major league because of FFP.
  3. So it’s took you until July to realise he has been playing wide? Thought you watched a lot of football?
  4. But you said Bayern were dominating because of fan ownership, obviously not the case.
  5. I wasn’t comparing them as styles of goalkeeper, just they both cost us a load of goals - you know, probably the most important comparison for a ‘goalie’.
  6. Sorry, you don’t sell your own young keeper full of potential for a pittance, then bring in another young keeper who’s no better (worse) on loan. Too important a position.
  7. Bayern’s dominance is nothing to do with fan ownership, German football has always had a version of fan management. Bayern are dominating this past few years because of CL money and the globalisation of the game promoting big brands - like Juventus and Real Madrid/Barca
  8. Walton was poor to begin with, improved in the winter, has been even poorer since lockdown. Apart from Steele, I can’t remember a Rovers keeper gifting so many goals in a season. We can’t make this mistake again in such an important position (or perhaps don’t sell your keeper for F all in the future) ‘He’ll be number 1 for Brighton next season’, indeed
  9. Great for the richer clubs and their deeper squads... so that’s it decided then.
  10. Remember reading that he’s been spending extra time at the training ground with Damien Johnson working on his weak points, I.e crossing.
  11. ‘Playing between the lines’... a midfielder passing to an unmarked forward. What an idea!
  12. I was being a little facetious (I think )
  13. Wasn’t BB scouted by Mowbray when he saw him stroll past Feeney and Williams near his technical area at Forest?
  14. Speaking of Neil Yardley, was I the only one that thought his commentary last night was much better without his sidekick?
  15. And that’s fine blue blood (and Sparks) But where the other two going? We are stuck with them on lengthy and lucrative contracts, so Samuel will be the one going, you’d imagine, along with DG, unfortunately in Graham’s case.
  16. Most folk are seemingly expecting a close season like every other in this league. Surely it won’t be? For a start it will presumably be shorter and who will be forking out big fees and offering multi year contracts for Championship players?
  17. Just one win from those or even a couple of draws would have had us in with a chance. But that capitulation like you saw in the second half at Barnsley is never too far away with this team, which is why we never make that final leap.
  18. We can only be thankful that Dack left his ripped jeans down south when he came for talks...
  19. All this about ‘dynamic play’, ‘front foot’, wide strikers, ‘dominating the ball’ and all the rest of it. But three and a half years on, we are still at our best with Graham as a focal point. Just a shame his career at this level is winding down as he is still the main man as far as I’m concerned.
  20. Unfortunately for us, 23 other Chief Execs and managers don’t need to be patient as they’ll have had months of discussion over budgets, so they’ll be having their usual headstart, whilst we wait for Pune to lift its lockdown and Venky’s to Covid-Secure their offices...
  21. Not that I can see, most are still heavily advertising sales.
  22. Pretty much every other club has had them on sale for months. With thousands sold and millions in the bank for those clubs at a time when cash flow is vital. Our cash flow on the other hand will be pretty much zero. Who has the right approach Chaddy? Rovers, who have to get everything signed off late in the summer in an annual meeting halfway across the world, or pretty much every other Championship club who have proactively engaged their supporters and got them and their cash signed up early?
  23. Get out if it! There’s loads of Man Utd/Liverpool fans in Wigan, which you’ll know all too well living there, which is unsurprising as they were a non league club until the 80s and are unfortunately in the same boat as the other clubs in ‘Greater Manchester’. But ok Joe, I’ll leave it there and agree with you.
