Unless there is anything in the rules that says ‘12 point deduction... apart from if there is a force majeure/dodgy stuff going on in the Philippines’, I don’t see how they have a leg to stand on. Dodgy owner doing dodgy stuff with his business doesn’t impact the EFL rule book, the league are simply making a reactive ruling to a club going into administration, they are not forensic accountants or the fraud squad, if it does get overturned then the rule is finished.

Others do, and good luck to them. Though after the triumphalism because Sharpe adds a cryptic line to his piece, like he does every summer, I’d also expect hands up every time one of these players don’t sign. Fairs fair. It is silly season. I take no interest in links, they either sign or they don’t. I think they are largely agent planted stories, if that upsets J*B and the like, then so be it, though I’m sure he has a thicker skin than that. However, a lot of folk do hang off the words of anybody with info, or even those who hint that they may have, look at a professional grifter like Nixon’s twitter for proof of that. But you don’t post anything, apart from innuendo and ? Either spill the beans, or protect confidences and say nothing. Posting ‘I know all this stuff... but I can’t tell you ‘, it’s childlike.

I want us to play like that, but you can’t look at a team on the pitch and a manager’s wishes in isolation. This club is not in Brentford’s stratosphere when it comes to strategic thinking and the running of a joined up football club.

I’m sure he does, who wouldn’t? Only snag is that we don’t have the players, and his transfer dealings don’t seem to be getting us any closer. Brentford play like the do because their whole club is geared around it, from a numbers obsessed owner down, through coaching, through data, through recruitment. This club is too dysfunctional and haphazard, all at the whim of far away and disinterested owners, with a Chief Exec focused on short term cash flow, where/what is the strategy here?

Who won’t he get time or support from, brfcs? Well that ship has already sailed for most on here. The owners? I’ve never seem much pressure from them to really go for promotion. We finish, say, 8th next season and I don’t expect much clamour for him to go from the fanbase, ‘progression’ after all, I think many on here have failed to grasp just how secure his tenure is with the wider support. As long as we aren’t in a relegation battle he’s safe as houses. Bobbing along in the second division is good enough for the majority these days, I rarely pick up any expectation, or even much ambition for promotion.

Ok, I’ll rephrase, they aren’t credible, as in my opinion, they haven’t been spoken to, the manager has no interest in them and they won’t sign. If people think they are credible because the likes of Mercer ‘we will be in admin soon’ Man post random foreign players (that have no track record of success with these names) then fair enough, it passes the time until the new season, I suppose. It’s called silly season for a reason.

I saw the Whiteman stuff. I’m talking about those fairly random foreign links. It’s a foreign player tombola with all Championship clubs every summer. Names thrown in by agents and then disseminated across the internet by journos who either have a link to said agent or the likes of LancsLive who just want to have stories for folk to click on. Or they come from faceless twitter accounts ‘Transfer Insider’ and the such like. Most come and go, wouldn’t call them ‘credible’ personally.

In what way are those links ‘credible’ and not just the standard agent planted stories?
