  1. We’ve heard from the club how many times since March? And I mean the club, not re-hashed EFL statements. A handful? Considering Waggott states he ‘makes all the decisions’, he’s either a piss poor operator and communicator, or a liar and the club is simply in suspended animation until the annual jaunt to Pune...
  2. Don’t tweet them that, it’ll give them ideas!
  3. Then I suppose when you have the turn over of staff that we have, it’s probably not a surprise. Warren Lucy, as an example, I assume runs the social media accounts and he’s a southern hired hand, who will see DG as part of the furniture, he’ll have no connection to our heritage or real awareness of who WE see as legends.
  4. But then they are diminishing the club by calling a solid pro, who’s done a good job in the lower leagues for us (been a favourite of mine since day 1), but still a fairly insignificant figure in the grand scheme of things a ‘club legend’ we are Blackburn Rovers, not Reading. That’s poor PR for me, but WTF do I know ?‍♂️
  5. ‘Club legend’, prime example of how the club has diminished. I’ve always been a big fan of DG, proper craftsman of a centre forward. But CLUB LEGEND? Nah, I’ll stick with Shearer, with Garner, with Crompton, Clayton, Douglas, Tugay, Friedel etc
  6. We conceded 63, was 69 last season, so ‘progress’, like accruing 3 extra points, I suppose... But no clean sheets in the last 11 games is a large reason we missed out..
  7. Harry Maguire was playing in League 1 at 21...
  8. How big is this house? Or is it a top and tail job? Oh to be a footballer (even a perennial fourth division loanee!)
  9. I may be wrong, but hasn’t DG always lived in the north east throughout his time here?
  10. Didn’t know you went to Leyland, Mercer? You rarely even venture to Ewood, as far as I’m aware. ‘I was going to buy 17 tickets, but saw the team, so now I’m off to Majestic for a crate’ being the usual line. How many times have you seen Butterworth?
  11. I would say there’s an element of that, but I would say we’ve just been browbeaten for so long, standards and expectations have dropped. Venky’s biggest legacy is to erase the belief that we should even be the club we were pre Jack in the 80s, i.e. even challenging for promotion. The group I go to away games with are committed Rovers fans, proper dye in the wool. If we’d have been hammered in the PL days, the pitchforks would’ve been out with them in the boozer after for, say, Allardyce. Now? Just a shrug and another pint...
  12. They are wrong, we are right then, Paul? By chance over design, as this isn’t a choice made by Waggott, just he hasn’t had chance to meet the owners for 12 months to sign them off. It’s a good point HBM, a majority of clubs get their STs on sale months before the next season giving them ample time to get fans signed up, pandemic or no pandemic, we are scrambling around trying to flog them in a short window every year after finally getting the sign off in Pune, going to bite us on the arse this time. One issue we won’t have, even at a third capacity, is getting everyone in, so I don’t see why we need ballots and the like here. Lets assume we sell 8,000 STs (we won’t) and there are no away fans allowed, we can easily accommodate all ST holders in our 31,000 ground. Hell, I imagine we’d even be able to cope with a 25% capacity, as I doubt we’ll sell close to 8k.
  13. Bit harsh on Butterworth as this was going to be his break out season by all accounts. Then got a season ending injury early on, was only 19 at the time. He deserves to be looked at again. Likes of Magloire and Fisher, fair enough.
  14. Yet, yet, the majority of clubs have thousands sold...
  15. Just read the match report on the LT, the comments Rows and scores being settled all the way down, proper abusive, and they have the nerve to slag off brfcs on there! This place is most civilised in comparison.
  16. Or back to 2012/13, The Season of 5 Managers...
  17. How have all the other clubs sold so many then? Even the likes of Port Vale are announcing record sales. I’d buy one.
  18. But bizarre that I keep getting taken to task on this when I’ve literally posted numerous links to examples, but ok. By my reckoning they are currently on sale at around 14 clubs that will be in the league next season (was more until Derby and Sheff Wed took them off sale, for obvious reasons), I wasted my time so no one else has to! End of the day, it will be us trying to fight an uphill battle in August/September or whenever we finally get them on sale in an almighty headwind of multiple negative factors... whilst the majority of our peers will be sitting pretty on thousands of renewals and a steady cash flow.
  19. Getting into semantics now just so to avoid agreeing with ‘99
  20. He DOES NOT pester journalists. He just asks them for ‘any Rovers news?’ 14 times every 3 months... or something. Please WITHDRAW your comment!
  21. Derby have suspended sales today due to their ongoing legal issues. Sheff Wed have had them on sale previously, sold thousands in their early bird period. So those two clubs are obviously not who you would use as examples due to legal uncertainty. But Ok then - a majority of clubs not under league investigation have them on sale. Take it you ignored the examples I gave, fair enough, but fine we are in esteemed company with PNE and Reading, but let’s not bemoan cash flow when the majority of the league has raked in millions of pounds. 22. Pretty much every other club in the league has them on sale - with most reporting thousands sold. 23. David Beckham Suite at Deepdale levels of tinpottery...
  24. They Skype-ing with Pune now then?
  25. So... the point of those contract extensions for Hart and Smallwood was what, exactly?
