Broughton has to go for me. The summer recruitment has been as bad as I can remember. Most of those signings are playing a division or two above their ability level. What a shocker.
He had no budget, they pulled all funds in the summer. He couldn’t even sign Bath on a free transfer from Sunderland, the experience we are crying out for.

Not sure why you ask that but I'll answer anyway, last month...why?
Which game?
The reason for asking is you seem to be an expert on current player fitness, something you’d only know about if you actually attended games regularly in my opinion. Watching them tracking back against Watford especially was telling and the games are coming thick and fast.
It’s not the only reason the side is struggling, but it’s one major factor for me, these players are running on empty, the side is lacking quality too, due to the owners pulling the budget in the summer and we are where we are.
Im surprised anyone is shocked to be frank.

No I don't. And people were saying pre Christmas period that they were knackered so how do you square that one?
When did you last watch us live, in the ground BigBar?

Sammie Szmodics has to be one of the best buys since the morons bought the club.
We’ll not bring in money like we did for Armstrong, but his all round contribution to this team is nothing short of phenomenal.

I’ve been watching a 9 part documentary on The Vietnam War on sky documentary.
Harrowing, controversial, dirty politics, murder, just fascinating, a must watch if you have an interest in history and war.

Happy New Year everyone.
Lovely day here in South Yorkshire, in stark contrast to the trip over for the Watford game which was biblical even by M62 standards.
Rovers are really struggling right now due to injuries and shear number of games played, in an ideal world we'd be resting players right now, but the owners have cut the staff to the bone and we wee again with the willy we've got.
Rotherham have picked up of late under Leam Richardson so this won't be an easy game, but to send the doom mongers back into the shadows I'm going for a Rovers win.
Blackburn Rovers 2 Rotherham 0
Come on you super blues!

Some tripe being talked on here, just for context, thanks to JH:
1) The budget was slashed mid-transfer window with zero warning from India, all targets cancelled.
2) Despite claims to the contrary, it was confirmed that there was an embargo on signings in place, which was so strict that it even prevented us signing Batth on a free/low cost short deal from Sunderland even though JDT had identified him as what was needed in defence.
The owners once again have shafted the manager and his colleagues, like they did with Mowbray at the back end of his time here, meddling in first team affairs, like they did appointing Coyle over Warnock, like they did backtracking on promises to Lambert and selling players like Cairney behind Bowyers back.
Nothing improves until those rats sod off.

I’m sounding like a right miserable git here 😁
I think we can safely say you’re now fully indoctrinated into the Brfcs way of life.
We win the next one and playoffs here we come 🙄

It’s difficult to enjoy any type of football when you’re losing.
We’ve beaten Bristol City, Brum, Stoke away and Norwich away only recently?

Has any manager made this sort of comment after we’ve beaten them? (I’ve genuinely no idea)
Agreed
Absolutely.
We ended up with JDT by chance, the current leadership had probably never heard of him. Now that we've got him, the club are taking him for a mug and its only a matter of time until he leaves. When that happens we'll end up with another journeyman, Gary Rowett or someone of his ilk, so my advice would be to enjoy the current football on offer, as this is as good as it gets under these owners.
Venkys out!

JDT and our current side seem to have praise heaped upon them week in week out by managers of other clubs, this time from Liam Rosenior:
"First of all, I have to say that I am so happy we don't have to play Blackburn again this season," he said.
"They are a credit to Jon. They're an outstanding, young team. I don't want to sound patronising after a win but I thought they were outstanding.
As fans we look at results, quite right too, but all these managers in Championship can't be wrong can they?
JDT is the best manager we've had under these morons, if he was backed we'd be playoff contenders, he isn't being backed so we are a mid-table championship club, its criminal, it really is...

What did he spend getting Forest promoted?
I don’t agree Cooper is a cheque book manager but he inherited a Chris Houghton team that had been assembled for well over £20m if memory serves me correctly.
I remember them bringing on Joao Carvalho against us, he was £13m on his own!
Massive money for a championship club.

As far writing him off too early - my goodness, I would not expect a Northern Premier League keeper to make some of the howlers Leo has made. I think Pears is 'rank', and I was desperate for Leo to succeed, but Leo takes 'rank' to an even lower level. IMO, the lad simply hasn't got what it takes to be a good Championship keeper and never will.
As for our recruitment department, based on their recruitment so far, I think they are a crock of sh1te and I'd sack the feckin lot of them along with Broughton.
To be frank you threw out a few lines on Benson a few years back and the ‘know nowts ‘ seized on a new name to pick on.
Benson has turned Pears into a decent keeper, was part of Rayas development and is given 100% credit by Kaminski himself for him playing in the Prem. He’s been a superb coach for this club.
Admit it, You know nothing about recruitment other than walking the dog past the training ground a few times a day.

How many Rovers' staff would lose their jobs in such a situation?
Probably not as many as lost their jobs when we were relegated from Premiership and certainly not as many local businesses that went to wall because of those inept bastards in Pune.

I’m not for a minute calling for JDT’s head.
He’s up against it being our manager with Venky’s as his bosses, a shit budget, which has been further reduced with all this Indian government nonsense that’s reared its head lately.
But- players not trying yesterday, continuing to pick the goalkeeper that continues to make mistakes that cost us goals and not being pragmatic, when his style of play clearly isn’t working is all on him, I’m afraid.
Its been clear for several weeks now that these players are shot at, knackered, we are relying on a 19yr old to run the show, its a disgrace and what we have been reduced to under these idiots in Pune.
Who are the replacements to come in a shake things up? Who replaces the keeper? Our options are non existent in my opinion.

It's always been the same Gav. Spurs great team of the early 60's played a possession based game. As for the speed of the game, it seems to me that in many ways it's played at walking pace with sudden bursts of speed injected at key moments.
I've loved watching the way JDT is trying to get our players to play but ultimately, football is about winning and possession on its own will not achieve that. The basics of the game never change. The ability to defend well and keep a clean sheet whilst creating and taking chances at the other end are constant fundamentals which this season we are struggling to get to grips with.
All that is true of course, but you asked how football had moved on and the current style which is to maintain possession at all costs is the answer. I have never seen 99% of teams looking to maintain possession of the ball in all my time watching football.
The Spain side a few years ago started this and are probably the best international side of all time
Edit: (Just seen that Tyrone names them too, phenomenal side)

Chaddy, how has football moved on from what Tyrone was describing? I suspect I'm of a similar generation to Tyrone and the football that Jack Marshall produced in the early sixties was all about movement, skill and passing. There isn't one player in the present team who would have got anywhere near the first team in the early 60s. At present we have nothing that comes close to matching a forward line of Fergie, McEvoy, Pickering, Dougie, Harrison, for skill, flair and goalscoring thrills.
Football today is all about keeping possession at all costs Parson, hence why every club in the land now plays out from the back. I've been watching football for many many years and the football today is nothing like I've ever seen before, if only for the possession side of things, its obviously much quicker too.
Tyrone is critical above of 'passing it aimlessly' which misses the point by a country mile.

By my calculations we currently have 5 first team players out injured, we had zero budget in the summer to bring anyone of note in and allowed our top goalscorer to leave on a free transfer.
Is anyone surprised we’ve hit a sticky patch?
