If we play like we did against Watford, we will huff and puff, then get beaten. Our end product, at both ends is poor. The middle bit is top of the range for limited periods, but they have to learn that at times it is better to hold possession and draw a foul, especially when we are in the lead. Frustrating the opposition can also get results, and limits chances.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's been signed off the strength of a highlight reel. He pulls off some good saves but then follows it up with several blunders.

You're describing a mid table championship keeper to me booth?

I was at the game so haven't seen the highlights, but the keeper was exposed time and time again in 2nd half because we were knackered and Watford brought of 4 pairs of fresh legs, we were lucky it was only 2-1 in the end.

Another frustrating afternoon at Ewood.  I love the football we play but, ultimately, the only way fans will return on a regular basis is with winning games.  Seven home defeats in the first half of the season is a difficult sell to fans - no matter how cheap the tickets.  At the end of the day those who aren't die-hards, want to see winning football - not unique to Rovers, it's the same at every club.

Personally, I think we've been fortunate with the previous manager and the present one.  Mowbray did a good job steadying a club that look beyond hope and JDT has built on that and produced some superb football over the last eighteen months.

Recent results have simply highlighted the threadbare nature of our squad.  It's all very well relying on an Academy to produce players but it's unrealistic to expect the Academy to produce three or four players every year who are up to the required standard.  Looking the bench in the past three or four games shows just how unrealistic that aim is.

We are crying out for some experienced, older heads, to help the younger players and in particular to help see out games when we are in a winning position.  A couple of 29 or 30 year-olds who've been around the block would make all the difference to this squad.

Until we get the right mix of youth and experience I think we will continue to struggle for consistency.  Young players are still learning and will make mistakes - Leo being a good example yesterday.  He made some excellent saves but, ultimately, two errors late in the game cost us.

With little or no money available in January it's difficult to see how things change.  At the moment we are a decent mid-table Championship team but no more than that.  Financially, we are falling further and further behind from the club's who have realistic chances of a top six finish.

Nonetheless, congratulations to all concerned in helping to get the crowd figure up yesterday.  It was a great effort.

    Perfectly summed up Parson.

A great game to watch and some quality football from our very young squad but we are crying out for an experienced striker. Hopefully we will find some money from down the sofa for one in the January sales.

A few players back from injury will help too.

What a journey that was yesterday @Uddersfelt Blue

If you honestly think the majority of our support still resides in Blackburn you’ve been away from the place longer than you think.

I remember seeing something a while back that stated the majority of our season ticket holders lived within a 10 miles radius of the ground, that was a while back now though.

A ‘link’ to what? The club’s ST holder spreadsheet?

Yep, you’re right it is a fact that Bolton borough is bigger than BwD, case closed then, thanks for the Wilki search  - we can’t compare ourselves with Bolton Wanderers.

Is that where you’ve seen this information? You made the statement, I’m interested.

Not that old chestnut. More of our support is based outside of Blackburn than it. Using council areas as ‘catchment area’ is old hat.

You can call it as old hat as you like but the facts are the facts and I would dispute more of our fan base is from outside the borough, do you have a link?

    Bolton Met 300k

    Blackburn with Darwen 150k

It’s a long time ago but the lesson is still valid…when I was in sales I had targets for sales volume, margin & fees. I also had “New, New Business” targets to ensure that I continued to grow my portfolio by bringing in new customers & I didn’t therefore just take a short term view and milk my existing customers to the point of extinction.

If I owned Rovers I’d set the CEO demographic growth targets, loyalty targets & new customer targets.

You have to care about the club, care about your investment, Venkys care about neither.

I often think about all the work John Williams and Tom Finn did over the years to put the supporters first, it wasn't just a cash cow for those two, they actually tried to build the brand, build the fanbase, keep tickets at reasonable prices and generally gave a toss.

Waggott is doing exactly what he's paid to do, switch the lights on and put the cat out and collect season ticket money from 8000 fans, job done. I don't really blame him myself, he's doing what is asked of him, its the bloody owners that are again culpable.

Sorry but I don’t understand the above.

Good try gents but I am not going to get sucked into what will be a tit for tat argument; I had enough of that in my working life to waste my energy on it.

I sincerely suggest you try and engage with the Club.  This Saturday is a good example of that.

Thanks for all your efforts behind the scenes Mike, giving up your own time to try and break down barriers between the fans and the club. It looks like that hard work will bear fruit this weekend with 16k+ getting down to Ewood.

    Keep up the good work.

  10. Go on then I'll bite.........

In every walk of life these days we use digital, from tax returns, to pensions, to airline tickets, holidays in Benidorm, brfcs forum, car parking, cinema, restaurants, even my elderly parents use digital, why such a furore over a match against Cambridge in 3rd round FA Cup?

Disclaimer - I haven't read all the thread, so apologies if I'm missing the main point,
