  1. I've been in that stand during the Premiership years when the old away end was knocked down, they put us in the top tier, nose bleed stuff. Picture from 1986 - FA Cup 4th Round - Everton 3 Rovers 1 - Best team in the land Everton at the time under Howard.
  2. I've never seen any sadly, but more and more old footage is coming out all the time, the Liverpool 83 game is new, so we live in hope. Everton away FA Cup mid 80's should be around somewhere, on an Everton season review.
  3. Thats the last thing we want, they should remain under the rock, its working a treat.
  4. Here you have a manager who clearly wants to move the club forward, clearly wants our out of contract players futures sorted out and feels powerless to do anything about it. The owners could sign those out of contract players up right now, give the club a massive boost for the promotion push, but here we are in limbo sitting 3rd in the league. This is firmly down to these useless owners, they pulled the plug in the summer, we failed to sign most of our main targets due to funding, thankfully the manager had a few rabbits in the bag to put a team out. Venkys out.
  5. Did we have a snow ball fight with the Forest fans in the first leg on the away end? My memory is not what it was 1864........
  6. Playing him in goal?
  7. This might be controversial, but Fazackerly installed as captain at the heart of the defence, to lead this young side down the home straight would be my choice.
  8. I was thinking exactly the same when Tyrone posted the team, was Tony Christie in the crowd that day? Supporting Newcastle no doubt 😄 Anyone of a certain vintage who hasn't listened to the Mark Patterson podcast should do so, excellent stuff.
  9. With respect JH I don't think any of that is true, I don't recall Mowbray flying off to Pune before we bought Brereton, reported to be our biggest signing under Venkys. We also have millions in the coffers from the Armstrong sale, get it spent and lets push on.
  10. Not the greatest footage, Rovers V Newcastle in Isle of Man 1986
  11. Just looking at the other games listed: 1986: Rovers 3–2 Nottingham Forest Rovers stunned Brian Clough’s First Division team in this FA Cup third round replay on a Monday night. John Lowey scored the pick of the goals. I don't remember the game, I may not have gone like the rest of the town! But only 11,000 on against first division Notts Forest? Unusual that, even though gates weren't great in mid 80's we'd pull the crowds in for the FA Cup games.
  12. Stop talking sense Jim, you have to think about FFP, wage structures, the cost of pies and the temperature of bovil......ZZZzzzzzzz We may never get a better chance than this Venkys, throw the kitchen sink at it for goodness sake.
  13. Two games coming up in South Wales over the next few weeks, never easy places to go as a player or a fan. If we can take 4 points from those 2 game I'd be extremely happy. Cardiff 1 Rovers 2
  14. Ronnie Spector and E Street Band - Doesn't get much better than this:
  15. What a voice OJF. RIP Ronnie Spector.
  16. Tell you what stuck me speeeeedie, the lack of colour in the crowd, beige and black coats, the red, white and blue Rovers scarves on Riverside stand out a treat in this beige throng of people.
  17. Rovers vrs Liverpool FA Cup 1983 at a packed Ewood which looks superb and what a Liverpool side.
  18. You're on the wind up and I fell for it. Good evening.
  19. If you don’t like the rules go elsewhere.
  20. Newcastle triggered Chris Woods release clause £25m and he’s about to sign for them. Nail in the dingle coffin.
  21. It’s a pray room for our Asian supporters, what’s the problem?
  22. Mumbles is lovely this time of year, take a vest though!
  23. Its a £20m deal, that was the point. He's also made 15 appearances already this season, it doesn't matter if they're from the bench which most are not.
  24. Just on the Armstrong fee, we had weeks on here arguing about the actual fee paid by Southampton. They paid £15m up front rising to £20m with addons, confirmed by the manager over the weekend. As many of us stated at the time, the deal was £20m, a great bit of business by the club.
  25. We have over 20 games still to play Sparks! A win would be fantastic, a draw would be fine, even the other option isn't the end of the season. I hope you're going to be ok down the home straight, we've still a long way to go yet!
