I served my apprenticeship under a grizzly old sod, mad keen Rover, who went to that game on the football special from Blackburn station. He grunted at me for 4yrs, then the day I came out of my time, from that day on, he was full of stories about Rovers and an wonderful chap.

Another excellent Mowbray signing, great news on the contract extension. Who was it who said he’d be sold in January?
-
You could be right, 70,000 comes to mind.

81/82 full match - Some terrace that on the far side.

Looks like someone has uploaded a Charlton history DVD:

Knowing the type of chap Mowbray is, he'll not want anything to distract from the footballing side of things, so I bet its on the backburner. It won't be a popular theory on here, but all the same it certainly seems that way. I can think of plenty of examples where the managers contract situation would be all over the press, put there by the manager himself, but not in this case.

If he does manage to squeeze us into the playoffs it would be a tremendous achievement from the season as a whole, if we miss out it would obviously be disappointing considering where we are. @Wegerleswiggle has is spot on above, look at the teams we're competing with, Forest for example have spent over 30m in recent seasons assembling that side, we've spent £2.99 in the bargain basement. -
I hope you’re wrong 47er and I’m sure you do too.

Thankfully this kind of tripe is mostly confined to social media, it’s laughable really. Mowbray has his faults, but what he’s achieved this season has so far been phenomenal. The team, manager and Rovers fans home and away are all pulling in one direction and we still have a great chance of going up. Its a long time since I’ve been proud to support my football club, this season has brought some pride and passion back and long may that continue. Onwards and upwards.

It’s actually 1000% better than the last 10 seasons.

You've been going to football long enough to know if you bait 4000 fans in a highly charged atmosphere you're encouraging a reaction. The rights and wrongs of it don't come into it for me, don't put yourself and your team mates in that position. Should fans be throwing stuff at players, absolutely not, but don't be surprised if they do, its football, not snooker. -
We may still go up this season, losing a few now isn't the end of the world due to where Mowbray and this young team have got us. You've been doing this for longer than I have, keep the faith, you just never know.
-
Tony Mowbray fits the bill for these owners, he'll be making a significant return on investment with players bought and sold, he's willing to work on a shoestring budget and he's created a young exciting team that are punching well above their weight in this division. New contract coming and he deserves it.

The Forest player ran straight to the Blackburn End after he scored to bait the crowd, that set the scene, you reap what you sow I'm afraid. -
Spot on den.

Premier League season 21/22

Imagine being 20 games into the season and only having 1 win? No surprise the place is like a morgue. Awful team, awful league. -

Harry McGuire has got to be one of the biggest wastes of money ever, Leicester have had Utds pants down big time. Phil Jones was another one.. -

We need Premiership football to clear the debt and hopefully get rid of these moronic owners, but you look at this game tonight. Tuesday night, on live Tv against Man Utd and the place is flat, nobody is up for this, the fans that have come are going through the motions, silently. This Premiership football lark isn’t all it’s made out to be…. -

You can hear a pin drop, empty seats galore, the most impressive things on show are the massive adverts. Premiership football eh…. -

Anyway back in good old Blighty, we should have hammered Swansea, if only we'd taken the numerous chances that fell our way..... We don't lose many at home, I'm going for a 2-0 Rovers win, get us back on track. -

Goodness me, are you really comparing professional footballers to pilots? First class doesn't help you recover from running your socks off in La Paz 3.500mtrs above sea level. As I said, I'll defer to Mowbray, he's getting most of the calls right this season. -

Manager knows his players, I'll defer to Mowbray on this one. -

What nonsense rigger.... Have you ever travelled 14,000 miles in 7 days and played football at altitude? You're at the top of your game, you're fit for the bench but not to play a full 90 minutes. Dack will get a place on the bench shortly, great impact player, but wont be fit enough to play a full 90 minutes. -
