  1. Nobody said that, have you started early tonight Simon? Just for the record, I’d take Wilder tomorrow. Quite right too. Any CEO worth his salt would look at every avenue to raise funds when the clubs haemorrhaging money at the rate we are. Its not difficult this stuff chaps.
  2. Come on Lancashire🏏
  3. Joe Root cementing his place as one of greatest batsman this country has ever seen, just phenomenal. Roooooot
  4. They have form for not paying bills on time JH, Barclays took the overdraft of them years ago because they failed to pay and provide proof of funds. Henning Berg took them to the high court for not paying his contract up and I'm sure I could find more examples if I set my mind to it. This badly advised nonsense is quickly becoming laughable, not aimed at you JH.
  5. I don't blame any CEO for looking at ways to raise funds at a club haemorrhaging money, no matter how unsavoury that may seem to many, me included. John Williams talked about selling the naming rights to Ewood, but that never happened. But lets face it, nobody sells fixed assets like training grounds unless the owners say so, the buck stops with them.
  6. Try telling that to the Rovers in the community team who were all fired when we got relegated under king rat, cost cutting. Why have we no scouting network? Why have we just sacked the European scout? Why are the backroom team all leaving? Why can't we get staff to work in the club shop the Saturday after the new shirt is released? Why does Ewood look like a shit tip? Why did Steve Patrick leave? Why has the pitch been awful since the day Steve left? Why did the club doctors leave? Why has the club been massively downgraded over the past 10yrs? All cost cutting Mike, nothing to do with FFP and the list above goes on and on and on.....
  7. He was also sacked after it became clear he was very much a 1 trick pony, the premiership worked him out and now Sheff Utd are bottom of the Championship, but they did make a profit last season for the first time in over a decade, Venkys would love that.
  8. Did the same apply to Gary Bowyer and Paul Lambert? How about Henning Berg who also wanted players signed to contracts when he arrived and ended up in the high court because Venkys wouldn't pay his contract! As we all know, this refusal to sign players to contracts isn't anything new, its been going on for years, way before Mowbray came to the club?
  9. With the smallest squad in Blackburn Rovers recent history Mike, ask yourself, does that ring true to you? I've personally read Mowbray asking for contract extensions for players in the Lancashire Telegraph on more than one occasion, desperate stuff, but its clear they're turned the tap off and players will walk as a result, what a business model eh..... Paul Lambert wanted to use some of the Rhodes money (9m) to bring in new recruits and sign 4/5 players to new contracts, all refused by Venkys, this isn't anything new, its been going on for years and he walked away. In the past 18 months we've sold around £20m worth of assets, depending on which newspaper you read and we can't sign players to contracts? Venkys out
  10. No idea, but every Rovers fan knows we’ve struggled to keep clean sheets, we’ve all been crying out for quality defenders. Fingers crossed Wiz
  11. Yes. This has been the pattern since they took over, nothing has changed. Remember all the players they refused to play because of win bonuses, goals scored bonuses, play more than 20 games and a wage increase? Its exactly the same now, but on a much smaller scale than in 2011.
  12. How about every other manager over the past 10yrs? Same rules apply?
  13. Come on John, when in the history of Blackburn Rovers have we ever worked on that model? Clubs in dire financial strife like we are need assets to sell, Armstrong on a decent contract would have brought in more money, Nyambe on any sort of contract the same. Venkys have stopped Mowbray and Waggot securing new deals with players, they did the same with Bowyer, this isn't anything new, they're as thick as a bar top. Venkys out.
  14. Notts v Hampshire T20 tonight was a fantastic game, just brilliant. Somerset v Lancs tomorrow night, what a day of cricket we have in store.
  15. Sorry Dmtp but that’s nonsense with the greatest of respect. Pay the players we want to keep decent contracts, it’s as simple as that, protect your assets, FFP doesn’t come into it really. Venkys have turned off the tap, they’ve refused to pay extensions to contracts many times over the past 10yrs, this isn’t anything new.
  16. Not allowing us to extend current players contracts is just another example of how those idiots in Pune simply don’t get it. It’s been happening since day 1, it can’t just be bad advice…… Venkys out.
  17. The biggest problem with the side for many years has been we can't keep a clean sheet. Despite the excellent start to the season, Mowbray is doing the right thing here, we are crying out for quality cover in the centre of defence and he's addressing that. If you don't concede goals you don't lose games, tried and tested.
  18. I don’t think anyone saw this coming, India have dominated the first 2 tests and should be 2 up. Lets get 450/500 and make this 1-1.
  19. The worst thing about the post is its now got 13 likes - No wonder the clubs ****** with such short sightedness. Anyway back to transfers, whats happening? Bad advice again?
  20. I think he'll reveal that he was on the Aldi Champagne last night, that is the only reason I can think of for posting that utter garbage above.
  21. They have changed course Matty, they've gone back to not signing players to contracts like they did so well earlier in the tenure. Mowbray has brought in around £15m in player sales in the last 18months, but its not enough to get anyone decent through the door or sign current players to contracts, why? The debt stands at £150+ Mowbray isn't responsible for that as Revidge would have us believe, nor is he responsible for selling the training ground, the owners have to sanction that, end of story. Maybe we can look forward to another Henning Berg (lasted 57 days and ended up in High Court - £2.5m payout) or maybe a Michael Appleton (67 days). Suspensions in the boardroom, Shaw and Agnew, Singh the Tv pundit giving team talks and buying player from Portugal, Ronaldinho playing number 10 even? Sadly no chance of Diego taking over....... No, they've been badly advised, they'll come good......The futures bright, the futures Venky Blue and White 🤬
  22. Didn’t you tell the site we’d be lucky to clear 7m for Armstrong? On the same day you told us you’d rather have Coyle than Mowbray? Every media outlet has the Armstrong deal at £15+ Some as high at £20m with add-ons. As for Owen Coyle, I need say no more…..
  23. Just for the US fans: https://www.facebook.com/NewYorkRovers/
  24. I noticed The Viking Andy Fordam died recently too ojf.
