  1. Saw you in the fields, briefly! Great festival, made even better by the 20ft high Rovers flag flying high above our tent with Georges cross and KEAN OUT painted on it, which gained much support from passers by. See you in the fields next year, minus the Kean out banner I hope......
  2. Work colleague went last week and was singing its praises, especially the prosecco jelly and ice cream pudding! But to be fair Gordon she is a size 8 and full after a couple of lettuce leaves!
  3. Pulp have just announced a home town gig at Sheffield arena on December 8th, pre-sale now on here: http://tiny.cc/pulpsheffield
  4. Went a couple of years back, great festival.
  5. Can't argue with any of that, but the choice wasn't ours really, we had to go.
  6. We went to Oakenhurst farm brewers fayre yesterday for Sunday lunch, worst 2hrs of my life! Well not really but you get my drift. Not the sort of place we’d usually eat at, but with a party of 16, including 6 kids, I can see why they chose the place. On a positive note, I have to admit the staff were very good, over worked and underpaid, but they couldn’t do enough for you, but that’s where the compliments stop. The food was terrible, if ever the old adage “You get what you pay for” ever applied, it certainly applies here. I’m not even going to bother going into details, it was just very poor indeed, burnt, over cooked, kept warm, you name it, just rubbish. Then we had “Thick family Robinson” sat across from us, Blackburns finest, I’ll fitting clothes, coughing in between fag breaks you get my drift. The last straw was when the mother thought it would be a great idea to put the babies dummy in the vinegar bottle and stick it back in the child’s mouth for a couple of photos, at that point we left. £96 for the food, which isn’t bad, but I’ll never go again.
  7. Very much Debs idea Ozz, but what a complete shambles, and dangerous by all accounts.
  8. Well The Stones Roses certainly lived up to the hype, ok Ian Brown can't hold a tune to save his life, but with Squire, Mani and Reni being him he couldn't fall could he.... Half way through, the gig it turned into a rave in the area where we were stood (left of the stage as you looked) middle aged men and women dancing to some of the best tunes for the era, absolute quality evening it turned out to be, glad we went. Just a quick word on the beer situation, complete shambles, debs went to the bar just before Primal scream came on and missed the entire set, got hurt in the process, but was determined to come back with a beer for her troubles, shambles.
  9. Getting a lift over at 2pm, going to be good night I'm sure.
  10. Absolutely stunning performance, the best gig I've ever been too, the mans a legend and 62yrs old, what energy. Hope he does it all again soon. Stone Roses Friday, won't be as good as Bruce, but I'm still looking forward to it.
  11. Clog has gone right downhill over the past 12 months, poor service, dishes with items missing, shame really. As for Jamies in Manchester, not been myself, but work mate has, word that came back, inconsistent, San Carlos any day of the week.
  12. Far to much money involved for them not to play, I hope
  13. Great couple of weeks coming up, Bruce Springsteen next week and The Roses the week after
  14. Great pics Ozz RIP Chris.
  15. I may just do that, Bernard sounds in good voice on the samples.
  16. I was absolutely crackers about New Order back in the 80’s, but can’t seem to raise any enthusiasm these days, not sure why the tunes are classics, maybe need to get a ticket and be pulled back in.
  17. Yes we're going on the Thursday and staying until Monday.
  18. I was in on Sunday, but not to eat, impressions from the service in the bar, give it a month of two, very shaky! Colleague of mine went to Nutters on Saturday night and said as always the food was fantastic. 8 of them with 6 bottles of wine, and drinks beforehand, £120 a couple with the tip, which isn’t bad at all.
  19. The Strickland arms at Sizergh is wonderful, great home cooked food and beer to match, the steak and ale pie is fantastic. Must say I've heard a few bad reports from the Clogg recently, poor service, reduced menu, bringing food out with missing components We've also had 2 bad experiences at The Oyster and Otter, not with the food but with the seating. We rolled up at around 8pm on a Friday night a couple of months back and the restaurant was busy, but they had 4/5 window tables ready but wouldn’t give them to a 3 in case any larger parties of 6 walked in, at 8pm?? We mentioned that they stop serving at 9pm but they wouldn’t have it so we left. 2 weeks later we decided to try them again, same outcome, but the manager realised what was happening and chased us out the door having recognised us from the few weeks earlier, we still left and won’t be going back. To finish on positive note, we've been to Naga at Abbey Village a few times now and the food is great. What I think makes it slightly better than the Indians in Darwen is the food is all cooked to order, on occasions the ones in Darwen pre-heat, but they're still very good.
  20. Going to see Bruce Springsteen in June and the Kendall calling festival in July. As for music at the moment, nothing much of interest really is there?
  21. Not sticking up for Hendry at all and his situation is different to most... But an IVA for a layman isn't the way to go, if anyone is thinking of taking out such a policy please PM me first, complete rip off in most circumstances, why pay money to a brief when that cash should be paying your creditors???
  22. Judge - How much can you afford to pay Borrower - Please see my income and expenditure form Judge - The borrower can afford to pay a cheque for £5.34 and half a tube of toothpaste Lender - Ok then the law states I cannot claim more than the borrow can realistically afford to pay No need for a solicitor at £50 an hour and taking 5% of the total debt as commission for dealing with the lender! You do the maths
