  1. I went just after it changed hands last time, possibly the worst curry I've ever had in my life, I was ill for days after and so was my brother who had the misfortune of buying at the same time. That doesn't mean is poor now, but we'll not be going back.
  2. Yes spot on T4E. I think he was caught after the Pac fight, but I'm not buying he wasn't at it before when 'off duty'
  3. He was indeed, great warrior, never saw him in a dull fight that I can recall. Got a few mates going to the Hatton fight, £210 for a floor seat! I've still not got over his coke admission myself, thousands of fans, us included, followed him to Vegas and spent thousands of pounds, and all that time he was snorting the Columbian marching powder between fights, felt a bit let down to be honest. That said, if he makes it to Vegas again I'll be going
  4. We tend to order from Trishna on Bolton Rd near the car wash. It tends to be consistently good although during busy times like Saturday night the food can arrive lukewarm. Also they give you points cards depending on how much you spend, collect enough for a free starter or main course.
  5. I was away so didn't see it, but they often throw up some decent bouts Abs. Some interesting fights coming up, Hatton more for nostalgia than anything else, followed him to Vegas a couple of times for the Mayweather and Malignaggi fights, felt a bit let down when it was revealed he liked the marching powder, but hey ho. Carl Froch always gives value for money, he fights tomorrow and Flintoff is also stepping into the ring also Munroe v Scott Quigg should be a good domestic fight too.
  6. I think its time to redress the balance. I’ve been scathing of the Oyster and Otter in the past and with good reason, but we decided to give them another go, if it’s good enough for Gordon, its good enough for us! And the whole experience had improved significantly. I must admit they almost blew it right off the bat though, we’ve been turned away twice before with scores of available tables, and the same looked on the cards last night, but they squeezed us in just before a table of 10 were due to arrive. This clearly isn’t due to the capacity of the restaurant, it’s more to do with the number of staff they’ve got on that night, 3 in total at front of house last night, but anyway we got a table. We ordered the Fish sampler for 2 which was delicious, to follow I had the fish curry and Debs has the smoked Haddock, served on bubble and squeak, both very good indeed and better than on previous visits. So all in all a much better experience than we’ve had before, interestingly enough the table next to us were overheard talking to the waiter and they’d had similar experiences to us with the chap that used to run front of house, he’s no longer there, and things seem to be running much better. We’ll be back for sure.
  7. Just bought Dylans new album, Tempest, fantastic Dave if you've not had a listen already.
  8. Good old Mozza http://uk.eurosport....-150836831.html
  9. Saw you in the fields, briefly! Great festival, made even better by the 20ft high Rovers flag flying high above our tent with Georges cross and KEAN OUT painted on it, which gained much support from passers by. See you in the fields next year, minus the Kean out banner I hope......
  10. Work colleague went last week and was singing its praises, especially the prosecco jelly and ice cream pudding! But to be fair Gordon she is a size 8 and full after a couple of lettuce leaves!
  11. Pulp have just announced a home town gig at Sheffield arena on December 8th, pre-sale now on here: http://tiny.cc/pulpsheffield
  12. Went a couple of years back, great festival.
  13. Can't argue with any of that, but the choice wasn't ours really, we had to go.
  14. We went to Oakenhurst farm brewers fayre yesterday for Sunday lunch, worst 2hrs of my life! Well not really but you get my drift. Not the sort of place we’d usually eat at, but with a party of 16, including 6 kids, I can see why they chose the place. On a positive note, I have to admit the staff were very good, over worked and underpaid, but they couldn’t do enough for you, but that’s where the compliments stop. The food was terrible, if ever the old adage “You get what you pay for” ever applied, it certainly applies here. I’m not even going to bother going into details, it was just very poor indeed, burnt, over cooked, kept warm, you name it, just rubbish. Then we had “Thick family Robinson” sat across from us, Blackburns finest, I’ll fitting clothes, coughing in between fag breaks you get my drift. The last straw was when the mother thought it would be a great idea to put the babies dummy in the vinegar bottle and stick it back in the child’s mouth for a couple of photos, at that point we left. £96 for the food, which isn’t bad, but I’ll never go again.
  15. Very much Debs idea Ozz, but what a complete shambles, and dangerous by all accounts.
  16. Well The Stones Roses certainly lived up to the hype, ok Ian Brown can't hold a tune to save his life, but with Squire, Mani and Reni being him he couldn't fall could he.... Half way through, the gig it turned into a rave in the area where we were stood (left of the stage as you looked) middle aged men and women dancing to some of the best tunes for the era, absolute quality evening it turned out to be, glad we went. Just a quick word on the beer situation, complete shambles, debs went to the bar just before Primal scream came on and missed the entire set, got hurt in the process, but was determined to come back with a beer for her troubles, shambles.
  17. Getting a lift over at 2pm, going to be good night I'm sure.
  18. Absolutely stunning performance, the best gig I've ever been too, the mans a legend and 62yrs old, what energy. Hope he does it all again soon. Stone Roses Friday, won't be as good as Bruce, but I'm still looking forward to it.
  19. Clog has gone right downhill over the past 12 months, poor service, dishes with items missing, shame really. As for Jamies in Manchester, not been myself, but work mate has, word that came back, inconsistent, San Carlos any day of the week.
  20. Far to much money involved for them not to play, I hope
  21. Great couple of weeks coming up, Bruce Springsteen next week and The Roses the week after
  22. Great pics Ozz RIP Chris.
  23. I may just do that, Bernard sounds in good voice on the samples.
