PLAYER WATCH v Coventry City (A)
J*B replied to tonyoz's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Feels very harsh on Trav who I thought was arguably our biggest player in the pitch yesterday. -
Well folks, that’s me for the season. I’m not enduring anymore Tony Mowbray. How the manager has manufactured this level of a breakdown is quite incredible. Every single decision he’s made since January has been wrong and he’s the only one that can’t see it. And the worst bit is - like he’s done at all of his other clubs - he’s going to leave us in a position next season where we have to completely reset. We will have: a strong keeper but no back up, no right backs, one experienced centre back, one left back, one midfielder, a number 9 that doesn’t score goals, Bradley Dack and Tyrhys Dolan. A huge rebuilding is ahead for whoever is next. And what an opportunity has been missed: a weak league, we where second, the Arma money in the bank. All he had to do was fill the gaps and keep spirits high and somehow he’s managed to deteriorate everything to an entirely predictable 10th place finish and a squad left on the floor with their heads in their hands after very public spats. And the worst bit? It was predictable. I couldn’t even enjoy it because I knew what happens next. I knew in January he couldn’t manage us into promotion, I knew in January he hadn’t signed the right players and I knew when the team news was released today that we weren’t playing the right team… and this isn’t a “I know better than him” moment, every fan walking into the stadium was questioning the team! The sooner this dinosaur is removed from this club the better. He shouldn’t have been allowed the luxury of this long and it’s only the good grace of Rovers fans who I would argue don’t know any better that has kept him here for this long. Get someone who gives a shite in and is ambitious enough to battle. I don’t care if we lose the fight as long as we’ve battled.

6 of these 10 won’t play for us next year. -

Someone needs to replace JRC. I’d argue Nyambe plays there and we play anyone else at centre back, because Nyambe is having a nightmare. Someone needs to replace Giles. Someone needs to replace Gallagher. Someone needs to replace Buckley. -

Trav is the only one with any heart out here. He’s had very public spats so far with Kaminski, Wharton and Pickering. -

I honestly cannot see how Buckley, Gallagher and Joe Rankin Costello are in the squad here never mind on the pitch. -
I struggle to bring myself to log on to website I’m the admin of such is my disdain for Tony’s management since January. That sums it up really.

Mowbray, the summer and beyond

Here’s hoping, there’s a bank holiday at the start of May and if he goes I’m drinking myself into oblivion on a Sunday to celebrate. -
For the first time in a long long time the bookies currently have us more likely to finish outside than top 6 than in it.
-
Heartbreaking. Absolute shite from Tony Mowbray. We’ve got players playing out of position all over the pitch and he’s allowing this team to bottle it from a position of comfort. Sack him now. This evening. He’s a disgrace.
-
Can’t get away with Gallagher missing opportunities like that. Absolute sitter and he missed the ball.
-
As I’ve been saying for weeks and weeks which many people haven’t been able to grasp.
-
Van Hecke is our best defender and midfielder today.

Leeds come back from 2-0 down and win 3-2. The fat lady isn’t singing but she’s starting to pour the jelly…

You should speak to Yasir about point 2, he’s posting videos of you on Twitter and you certainly don’t have a straight face on them! -

No worries, here we go: 1) We sign who we can afford to sign, the club was decimated financially because of COVID resulting in the owners having to buy the training ground off the club they already own. This club loses money every single day and therefore FFP restricts that. Arguably a strong CEO would find ways of generating more money to help this, ours seems to struggle. 2) We go on a bad run because the manager is poor. It happens every year, repetitivenesses cannot be attributed to anything but poor leadership decisions. 3) We play Johnson upfront because the manager has limited options and thinks it’s the best option. It isn’t the best option, as it was proved. Ignore all of the “I’m happy with my team”, he isn’t, if he was allowed to replace Gallagher he would have done, but he can’t say that. 4) If you believe the club is a basket case, how on Earth can you sit in the posh lounges at Ewood on match day making Twitter videos with club management with a straight face? There’s a reason they don’t let the likes of Kamy and Glen Mullan swan around in there… and it’s not because they can’t afford it! -

The stage floor is yours Darren, if you can substantiate it then we’re all ears? -

These money laundering rumours have gone on for about 15 years now and I’m yet to have anyone explain how it’s a remote possibility or even viable. Until someone can do that, I’m putting it in the nonsense category. -

If we finish in the top six this season it’s because of the likes of Lenihan, Dack, Travis and Johnson rather than JRC, Khadra, Rothwell and Dolan. -

Points will be dropped but it’s the stage of a season where 4th and 5th decide to settle on a 1-1 for both of their safety. We had the same thing when we where second, unless you’re picking up maximum points it’s better to have games in hand in a chase. -

Very dangerous mindset, I hope the players aren’t thinking like that. As far as I’m concerned there’s 8 teams above Rovers with their own destinies in their own hands. Us finishing in the top six relies on others failing. -

Also I have absolutely no faith in this manager to manage a top six finish.
