  1. I think its managed decline. This might be wrong and you're the perfect person to tell me otherwise, so please do, but its my understanding that the asset in their group shows (correct me if I'm wrong) as a ~£200M asset. The fact that the £200M+ is money the owe themselves doesn't change that? If so, I think they've totally given up on making any financial return on the club and totally given up on any on-field success and have now decided to try and get the club as cheap as possible to run to retain the asset at minimal cost.
  2. Given the success both on and off the field of the women’s team, alongside the owners now having no restrictions on funding, why has the funding of the women’s team not increased to match the teams ambitions?
  3. E-mail media@brfcs.com and someone from the team will give you the comment you need.
  4. On that basis can anyone find a rationale for this decision that isn't one of the following: 1) Our Leadership - either owners, CEO or similar, do not value women's football and don't want to invest in it despite being able to do so. 2) Our Ownership or CEO does want to invest into Womens football, but the Indian Court Case restrictions mean they cannot - which conflicts with the messaging about no funding issues from Steve Waggott
  5. And there we have it in black and white. Despite earning tens of millions of pounds in transfer fees including: Forcing a generational talent out of the door to keep the lights on Selling an incredibly well thought after centre half to Spurs The 4M pound sell on fee for a player we sold for 3M as he moves to the potential Premier League winners this season The training ground - Jack Walkers last legacy - sold which we now rent from our Indian Overlords. We have a 'limited' transfer budget. At the same time last seasons captain, Hyam, one of our few international players, Sigurdsson, our only striker, Gallagher and our most effective winger, Dolan all out of contract in 12 months and show no signs of renegotiating new deals. If you're going to come here and try to find positives, or talk about optimism, you're going to need to show some receipts. Because as I see it, there's absolutely nothing to be enthusiastic about in regards to this football clubs short term success. My money is on relegation.
  6. I do love an passionate off-mod moment 😃
  7. Seems to differ from the EFL website: https://www.efl.com/governance/regulations/#heading-annex-1-profitability-and-sustainability-calculation that says it is excluded?
  8. When did the FFP change happen, @Miller11? That is so counter productive to growing women’s football, I’m astounded that’s the decision the FA (?) have made.
  9. It’s B. It’s always been B. It’s a bond to ensure if they lose the court case, they can’t say “we can’t pay it, we’ve already sent it and spent it”. Waggott is just extremely clever with his words and in the most part our fans are too poorly researched to question it.
  10. Lots of Rovers out here in Germany.
  11. Back from the AGM and as promised will give my thoughts. Firstly, as a Trust member I was originally a little concerned that the whole “hosted at Brockhall” thing was a little “too close to comfort”. That didn’t actually feel like it mattered, it was in essence a meeting room with good parking. It was a shame to see so few people in the room but great to hear there was 3,000 people watching the live stream, which sounds like an incredible number. We started with a Q&A with Gestede and Eustace. There was the opportunity to write down and submit questions before they arrived, I didn’t because I was running a touch late and in all honesty I didn’t have any off the top of my head. I must say, Steve the interviewer was clearly very starry eyed over both Eustace and Gestede. I’d have liked to see someone simply asking the questions submitted rather than adding their input and opinion which for me watered down the questions. That combined with the threat of “I’ve got yellow and red cards for any questions that are worthy” meant it was all very very tame, which was perhaps fitting for the occasion. The Q&A section finished with a quite surreal moment as Gestede was asked if he was concerned he might have brain damage from heading Craig Conway’s crosses. I didn’t think the questions asked gave the best view of the fans if I’m honest. Next up a section from the Chair who gave a top line overview of the last 12 months, approving elections and the trusts accounts, which was concise and to the point. Duncan was then brought in for what I found most interesting as he discussed the MOU with the club, the work the Trust had done with STs and the sales this year. He asked for a show of hands of “positive or negative” on the season ticket pricing and it was overwhelmingly positive, it felt like perhaps four of us felt the pricing was negative. Good to hear ST early bird sales are up even though retention is currently down at 76(?)%. Would be interesting to know how many of those sales are juniors on the cheap tickets. Duncan explained how almost everything at the club is based on financial targets and data, all of which are tracking as increases. Then Steve came back up for what was a clearly well researched “history of the Rovers” PowerPoint, which was interesting but I’m not sure what the relevance was to a club AGM. I’d have personally much rather listen to Duncan for another 30 minutes. Or ask random Q&As with Eustace and Gestede.
  12. Just back, will post some comments later, I think on-stream Duncan mentioned a 76%(?) renewal rate which I found interesting.
  13. Because despite selling our training ground, Kaminski, Raya, Wharton, Armstrong, Phillips and letting Brereton, Dack, Rothwell, Lenihan all leave on free transfers there’s no money! It’s economics done the Waggott way.
  14. Because the average 23 and 24 year old within 5 miles of the ground is struggling and doesn’t have much spare money.
  15. Sad to hear this Mike, suing someone almost always means everyone has suffered in some capacity. Hope there’s a quick and easy resolution.
  16. If so, it's going to be a struggle watching every game on TV nevermind in the stadium this year.
  17. My summer is completely ruined.
  18. Watson Ramsbottom I think.
  19. Should say this in the privacy of the BRFCS owners group, but is it viable for us to set up a sponsor removal service in protest? Find a provider that can do it, get a cheap price based on bulk orders, fans send us their shirts with return postage and we handle the removal?
  20. Wait, is Chilwell fit? I had assumed he was injured! How have we ended up with no fit left back in a full squad? We should have taken Chilwell, Mitchell at Palace or even Davis at Ipswich until Shaw was fit. Nobody can tell me all three of them aren’t good enough for Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia.
  21. M&S have some fantastic men’s clothing in at the moment. They’ve just hired Reiss’s top designer and it shows, some lovely summer pieces at great prices and quality.
