  1. phil...i think i know which one you are reffering to when bellars was pulling away from his marker. the tv showed the linesman make a signal with thumb and for finger to suggest only just offside....the same ###### linesman who failed to see cisse offside by 5 @#/? yards. i have worked it out that to gaurentee uefa cup football next season, we need 7 points from the remaining 12 available.
  2. hmmmmmmm....other than the officials, namely the linesmen, made some monumental errors that contributed towards us losing 1-0. didn't effect liverpool so much. i am amazed as to why the linesman in first half did not put his flag up when cisse was offside, and the ball went straight to him. how can people say he was in-active, when the ball goes right to him and he makes a play for it. as far as the linesman is concerned, wether cisse touched it or not, is totally irrelevant cause i repeat - the offside flag should have gone up.
  3. steven reid at wigan, cause it also was not just a cracking goal but a great bit of football that led up to it aswell. also, reidy had no time to line it up, just had to get to it before the defender and bang the crap out of it....it could have gone over the stand but didn't, what a stunning goal.
  4. the commentators are sayinbg that the debate about cisse being active or in-active will go on and on...."OF COURSE HE WAS ###### ACTIVE, HE MADE A PLAY AT THE ###### BALL", FOR ###### (Please don't use that word again) SAKE!! we see that in everygame, in every country that has a football league, even in amature footy and it gets pulled up everytime, so why not when it comes to ewood park. the linesman simply had to put his flag up as soon as the header from fowler went through, because cisse was standing in an offside position and it went straight to him...he did not touch the ball, the linesman didn't know that. so even if the linesman ended up making a wrong decision either way...he simply had to put his flag up.
  5. it is certainly gonna be a mad scramble in the next few weeks, for that 4th spot. if we can get a good result today, then considering that arsenal play spurs next week at highbury, and hopefully they take points off eachother by making a draw...then we will be right on their heels for the champs league qulaifying spot.
  6. i thought britain's first 2million quid player was gary pallister, when urinal signed him from boro, all those years ago?? what year was it that hughesy became the first 2 million player??
  7. i agree with somebodsy not coming on for the dick. two very good goals from bellamy and yet we still only get a point, which i suppose is better than a kick in the ######.
  8. what makes mick gray "aweful"?? so far we have had one shot at goal and scored, other than that we haven't even looked like threatening the portsmouth goal. i aint sure if this is a problem but playing on a pitch taht looks so much smaller than ewood park is proving difficult. morten has not even been in the game and because our full backs are used to pushing up on a big pith like ewood (compared to fratton park), we are getting caught with balls in behind and over the back of the fullbacks. come on lads!!!!
  9. an overall poor display. the summary given by jim said it in a nutshell. kuqi is discustingly awful. we will need a much improved display for saturday at portsmouth, (another game that is live on foxsports). i don't know why he started with dickov anyway....for me in the summer kuqi and dickov out keep pongo and buy another striker.
  10. i am missing something?? please explain mate...LOL but then again i am rather hammered:)
  11. distance v mileage between two points....not the same thing or am i missing something??
  12. in terms of miles mate i aint sure, but just check out theaa.com
  13. http://www.theaa.com/travelwatch/inc/plann...es_redirect.jsp 8.7 miles from stanley's ground to turf moor...does that answer your question??
  14. you are joking right, dan....how many more times would you like me to read it?? turf moor is not 6 miles from rovers!!
  15. tufr moor is not 6 miles from ewood park. and nor is it only half a mile from stanlerys ground. balls! where is the aa root map, when i need one!!
  16. if turf moor is only halkf a mile from the crown gorund, then i will eat my hat, get my coast, order a baxi and what ever other cleeshay..(spelling) you can throw at me. i really do hope that stanley get to the football league, fantastic for football in east lancashire.
  17. there is a massive difference between those local fans who don't go and those exiled fans that can't go - in our case down here the difference is probably about 10,500miles. see those who live locally and/or within a 50 mile radius from ewood park is far easier for them to get get to the games, especially when we play at home. those fans who call themselves rovers fans, but yet would rather spend their hard earned down the local instead of CONTRIBUTING to the club....it is logistcally possible for them to be be, but for us down here...not so. see we need to book holidays off work, save somewhere in the region of $4000 and that would get us, what, say 2 weeks over there maximum. another difference is that those who live in the local area don't need to ask for time off work to go and see the lads, theyn don't need inordinate amount of cash either. me personally, when we won the worthington cup, i quit my job and flew home to england for a few years and the only reason i did it, was so i could see my team playing on the biggest stage of all....european competition. now i would say that is a fair contribution
  18. a potential banana skin indeed. normally i would be happy with a point away from home and this does not change, but i am hpoing that we are gonna have too much for them and get the 3 points.
  19. ryan nelson was fantastic again yesterday (for me ). the tackle was not only a goal saving tackle but quite possibly saved the game for us when villa started getting on top.
  20. i think we can win this game, and playing good football would be a bonus. with that said i just hope we win regardless of the kind of footy we end up playing.
  21. we did not play well...full stop. but hey, that is football for you!! i thought nelly again was superb and although we did not play well, i thought we did enough to win and was never ever troubled by anything that villa through at us.
  22. lads...get the ball dfown and play footy. we don't have to be brilliant but play football.
  23. for me, there is not too much quality around in the teams that will eventually get relegated. therfore the comeptition to sign some of the blokes will be fierce. maybe pennant would make a good addition to our squad.
  24. if we play half aswell as we did the lane...then i am confident we can beat villa. just a solid team performance and getting the goals on our side and being good enough to hold them off. 3pts for rovers.
