  1. it's a catch 22 situation - all rovers fans would want to keep the stadium name as it is, but in our heart of hearts we would all know that if somebody wanted to pump millions into the club then it would be with great reluctance. further to that i think a lot of people would hope that if this did happen, then it would be to someone/company who actually knows or follows football and better still somebody who is actually a rovers fan.
  2. I reckon the fixture list is reasonably favourable for us. although december is gonna be a big month with so many games in such short spaces of time. other teams - wigan are gonna get totally and completely annhialated on the opening day.
  3. I am at a loss as to why 71 people who have voted on this topic say that we should have kept the guy. totally bamboozled i am. the guy wanted out, plain and simple. when he refused to play in that fa cup match at home....what the (Please don't use that word again) do you think that made is team mates and fellow pro's think?? i bet some of you folks also think we shouldn't have sold dunny or the duffer or henning berg!! the guy (fergy) was a complete arsehole who totally ###### on the players, management and most importantly us fans...good ###### riddance!!
  4. it was a good win for us but lets not get overly confident as there is a long way to go this summer before we can really start to celebrate. we are all here for the ashes, nothing else matters as the song goes. i don't know if any of you was in south africa, but the way we played over there for that 5 test series was excellent and the best cricket i have seen us play for many many years...as i said in another post, replicate that and we will win the series.
  5. i aint fussed what the final score is, just as long as england are on the right side of it come the end of the ashes series. and one message for all of us england fans...."PLEASE DO NOT GET EXCITED, AS FATE WILL CONSPIRE AGAINST US" we do have a very very good team, squad etc etc as seen first hand in south africa last winter. if we play like we did over there, then the ashes will be coming home.......HOPEFULLY!!
  6. womens football is nothing short of a load of complete crap. it has to be one of the most boring sports ever....no skill, can't tackle, can't read the play, more toe bungers on one pitch than i have ever seen. have a nice day!!
  7. preston definately. i was thinking the other week that it would be great if we could have 3 teams from lancashire in the premierleague, and as someopne said....little burnley still languishing in the bottom half of the 1st division.
  8. as soon as you folks know who is confirmed as playing in the parkes 11, please post on here....so that us down here can look.
  9. i never thought of toddy as a dirty player, ands till don't but i used to think that he could flip during a game and put us down to ten men at any given moment....i.e. dugarry situation. toddy has grown up and seems to be a lot better football player for his discipline and given the captaincy hsa given him added responsibility to which he has responded very very well...for himself, the club and the fans. who ever told you that mate, must have just downed 10 pints of xxxx, cause i used to talk crap after drinking that aswell.
  10. i can't believe what my own fingers are typing here but i am in agreeance with jan. brett and tommo are the ones who we need to look at as to who we want on the right side of midfield. they both have there faults that is right but so does world footballer of the year, along with everybody else who has ever played football. the faults that these two guys have got are very coachable (if there is such a word) to rid them of what frustrates us fans. for me brett needs the self belief.......and needs to be told to shoot when at the top of the box and only goaly to beat. reidy has been very good for rovers for quite a while now because he is playing inside right and not out wide...getting more of the ball. the boy certainly has the fitness and ball skills to play in that position.
  11. i'll second them sentiments pg.....as well as losing the dressing at ewood i dare say that lucas won't want to be part of a culture such as the one that all newcastle fans witnessed this past saturday. i hope he don't leave us anyway, the best right full back that we have.
  12. excellent result rovers...well done to every single player....!!
  13. jammy barstewards.......you are all a hell of a lot closer than me and probably stand 9 a 99 out of a hundred....better chance than me of making it so lets all stop ###### whinging and whining and get your arses to cardiff....one way or another. THAT INCLUDES YOU, NORTHERNROVER!!
  14. we talked briefly about fergy on saturday night and about how he left rovers. i made the comment that scottish football was nothing short of a bag of crap......which i mean no offense to our scottish cousins, but still stand by that. he did not want to play infront of crowds that were like the one at the reebok stadium.... i reckon it is cause he was admitting to himself that he could not hack it in the premier league...no ambition whatsoever......
  15. aussie rover - mate you aint the only one who felt as sick as a dog this morning. last night when i got back, my stomach was doing summersaults and this morning felt awful, like really back stomach cramps...... other than that and the fact that we lost, it was a fun night and we had some good laughs when more folks turned up....
  16. lads what about me...i live in geelong. either i call mym mumu to get her to come and pick me up....and get shouted at in the process......or i just fork out for a cab in the process to go stay at a mates place in sunshine.
  17. chris, you know the saying out here mate.... "GO HARD OR GO HOME"
  18. very happy with this point at anfield don't know about anybody else but i thoguht we would have to battle to get any points from this run of our games against 4 of the top 5 teams in the league...proves that we are very much on the improve.
  19. i'll be leathered probably just on kick-off time..... or is that not a surprise to you SR?
  20. lads, i was just checking the foxtel guide and it seems that liverpool v rovers is not on tv on thursday morning. can anybody tell me any different.
  21. well all last night i thoguht we were gonna get man urinal....but arsenal is ok. i aint bothered as we knew that we qould have to beat two of these 3 teams to win the thing anyway. come on rovers.....
  22. the rovers shirts are your entrance fees....so to speak! be good to see some faces old and new. i am looking forward to meeting on saturday cause noi doubt we will have some great discussions about rovers.
  23. can't wait lads. and by the way south aussie...even if victor can't make your place....then i certainly will.
  24. totally agree jw. rovers have indeed lost game that they should have won, but so has every other team around the world. always give the opponents the respect that they deserve but we on here have too many doom and gloom merchants.....willing rovers to fail so that there own feelings are vindicated. the right direction is indeed where we are going and if we do lose against leicester...then a dissapointment it will be......but that won't all of a sudden plunge us deep into the mire.,... for what it is worth...i do believe that the fans are letting the club and more importantly the players down....bigstyle. and once again proves that we have abig bunch of fans who jump on the bandwagon....when we have a massive game....such as a local derby.
  25. lads lets all remember that the game is an early kick-off....at 11.45pm i think. so we all need to be ther at least 3hrs before it starts so we can get a few good ones down our gulletts. i will probably be there just around 8pm....accommodation i have no idea where i am staying yet....probably at my mums in sunshine so she will come and get me i think...or rather hope. i trust that we will all be wearing the blue and white? if not......shame on you
