  1. this is something that i am concerned about aswell. i said on another thread that we are getting too many battlers in and not a lot of players with quality, which is what we need.
  2. i am reasonably confident about saturday. if history is anything to go by...liverpool had a massive win in the champs league, but then have been really flat since. everton, massive win in the scouse derby...hopefully they will be the same. in days gone by this is the kinda game that rovers would step it up for....and turn over some quality teams. hope this is another of those occasions.
  3. just seen on www.thisislancashire.co.uk - that hughesy is launching a bid of £2m for sobbie ravage in january. ###### hell...what the (Please don't use that word again) is going on?? don't get me wrong, i reckon he will battle more than anyone, but we are getting too many players that are of the same mentality. too many batlers, when we could do with somebody who has a touch of class.
  4. a bit more shooting practice..... stunning saves from goalkeepers, goal line clearances etc etc i don't think so much that it is shooting practice that we need, as i believe that the lads are throwing everything and the kitchen sink to try and score a goal.....we just need that bit of luck which on saturday (for one reason or another) we did not get.
  5. this south african guy has gone from one club to another as it seems. now if we sign him and he turns out to be the business for us then no problem.....however, if this is not the case then again we have got what we payed for.
  6. I was at the match and fully agree that tommo deserved the first yellow card. But the second one....i am still to figure out what he did wrong to deserve that second yellow. for goodness sake all i saw was that he had a little shove and push with that lanky streak of crap fitz hall......and if that itself is deserved of a yellow card then we might aswell all give up. what the ###### hell the linesman was doing i also am yet to figure out. he say (metaphorically speaking) that tommo should get a second yellow, but the @#/? who started it all stayed on the pitch, how that happened i just don't know. lucas already had a yellow card, so if the linesman/ref thought that he was wrong then he too should have walked. but the guy who CHEATED and tried to get lucas sent off is an absolute disgrace. this guys play acting insighted a melee and caused a player to be sent off...and yet he finished the match. how many times did we not get given free kicks when our players were BALTENTLY pulled back.....no wonder fans get so ###### with refs and their bungling assistants.
  7. i really hope that you'll have a cracking summer paul (with regards to cricket), never mind just that test match. unfortunately i shall be watching from my house in geelong, victoria....shouting on the red rose boys as well.
  8. i too am kinda dissapointed that pedresen is keeping him off the bench. in my eyes, there is such a big difference in class between the two players. i am hoping that hughesy will give him a chance as soon as possible.
  9. a fit and healthy david dunn and one that takes his football seriously.....i would welcome back to ewood park any day. he is a local boy, who is blackburn rovers through and through, and in my own opinion, if he was given a chance to come home....he would have signed the contract before you could finish asking him the question.
  10. hopefully this will be the game that we start to build on the hard work put in under hughesy, and thus start to build on some good performances of late. i see (other than injury) no need to change anything in the starting 11 and hoping for a rovers win.
  11. i was on the phone to a client and heard rod marsh going balistic.....the client was explaining to me where he wanted to go and i just took no notice whatsoever......a penalty!!! is that word in the oxford english??
  12. i don't believe that the decision was made purely because there was not a role for tp at ewood park. apart from bringing in glyn hidges there has to be more to it than that.....what i don't know, but hope that tp has left amicably
  13. nothing lasts forever does it! it was suggested on here a while ago that tony parkes be released, hopefully it is for the better, if correct. but parkes was reserve team boss. nothing to do with the first team...i there is no reason for him to be sacked...or am i missing something??
  14. should be the same team as the other night, without question and i aint bothered how we get it, aslong as we can get a result that will yearn 3 points...even a draw will be ok and not a total disaster.
  15. why de pedro?? the guy is not fully match fit, although you'd think he should be by now and other than that has not really been given a chance. talk about inspiring false hope, it is us fans that get excited about things, yet when it don't happen we all of a sudden want to kick the players out.
  16. i certainly agree that he don't know his players yet, but come january he will certainly know which ones he don't want to be at this club any longer. i think or sounds ok to have dunny, henchoz and danny gabbidon...at rovers in january.
  17. if that is the case ossydave...why then are rovers near to the foot of the table, mate?? you may say cause we have played defended badly at times which is true, but this is due to the seeming lack of quality players that we have at our disposal right now.
  18. well mother....apparently bellamy had a swipe at souness by alledgedly saying "you left that club in such a dire state, to come here".... draw your own conclusions to that possible statement......but what has been left for hughesy to get back off the floor, is not the best of squads, but still rather talented.
  19. flopsy lets take stock of the situation for a moment. most of the players, all but one i think....where actually signed by graham souness. mark hughes has nothing to do with that whatsoever, so he can select what ever players and formation he feels is right, but at the end of the day it is the same players that he has been left with. can't do anything about it until january.....so a knee jerk reaction, indeed it is yes. further more - anybody see the comment that craig bellamy made to souness on the team bus back to newcastle after the charlton game?? it was a little snippett in the news of the world.
  20. firstly, i would like to say that before tuges sending off, neither side was doing much to enlighten what was otherwise a rather dull first half. middlesboro showed just how to play against a team with only 9 outfield players on the pitch, keep the ball moving instead on posession type football. please folks, don't slag off rovers for the way we played after the sending off, cause all credit to boro they exploited us perfectly . after the sending off i don't have a problem at all with the way things turned out. to be perfectly honest even before the sending off i was not that angry cause neither side was doing much to entertain us. the stewarding at ewood and i have always thought this is nothing short of totally abismal and a ###### disgrace. these people are not into football, don't even like football and probably not rovers fans either. we as fans who pay their @#/? ###### wages, get treated like @#/? and i only wish sometimes that we could play 38 games away from home every season cause we are greated witha smile and a laugh and joke with stewards from most other clubs....spurs away last season, anyone!!!! i agree with kiwiwannabe...the club needs to get it sorted, and quick style too.
  21. why the (Please don't use that word again) is a lot of folks saying we need to get rid of flitty?? he runs around like a silly bugger throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the ball to try and help his team mates, but yet again and TYPICALLY some rovers fans are not satisfied. i'd kick you lot out without hesitation.
  22. undoubtedly the guy is a very good player. and maybe someone we could play between the strikers and central midfielders....but tuges could easily do this job......i aint bothered either way, wether we get him or not.
  23. i aint seen a more definate penalty for a long time. the guy's arm came away from his body and prevented a cross from coming in, a penalty if ever i have seen one. if it had been anywhere else on the park other than the penalty area, it would have been given as a free kick for handball....so why not a penalty for in the area??? i'll tell you why...cause it is a conspiracy against rovers!!!!
  24. since i am still a young man (29 today)...i have not seen that many left full backs that i can remember...so graeme le saux has to be the best that i can remember by far. he achieved far more with us than any of the others....i think!
  25. just looking at the two teams and if we are being honest we really should give em a bit of a touch up.....but in saying that there are always shocks in football. we should win comfortably but i would be happy with a rovers win....3-0!!
