Yes I did and no reply. Same with the Peterborough chairman, Alan Nixon and sports Pete. Complete silence.
-
Maddison has a release clause of £2.5M which the chairman considers cheap and with clubs willing to pay it, it is non negotiable. Although I don’t know what players are paid, my instinct is that you will need to at least double the salaries you are quoting.
-
My thoughts exactly.
-
I’ve just watched Lukas Nmecha video highlights and he looks worse than Nuttall and Samuel in my humble opinion. So I hope it is another City player that we are linked with!!
-
I feel like Tony’s budget which he thought was good has been exposed as way off the pace for transfer fees and wages. I think it has really taken him by surprise and he is trying to get the best out of what he has asked for. I am worried that we could be left with getting players that are not on any of the lists!! But I hope that I am wrong. I also don’t think he will look abroad as he is trying to create a tight knit British based team similar to how Dyke achieved promotion.
-
Hasn’t he got a long term injury?
-
If it is WBA then we could lose out as they have just McLean for £5M. ?
-
I have feeling that we were the other club that was going to miss out. I think the club who was in pole position was WBA as they weren’t in the championship last season and they have been the bookies favourite. If they are still waiting for a player sale that could let us in with a chance, if we are in fact in for him.

That's steal
-
He also said that it wasn't Wigan.?

My Nyambe is playing really well in my opinion.

Which is pretty much what Tony has been saying. He seems to see achieving promotion as at least a 2-3 year goal. He wants us to be competitive this year, which I take to mean being a top half team. He feels a few quality additions to a very tight squad will do that. If we could get Armstrong & Chapman back (buy or loan) plus Maddison and a decent target man I think that would be achievable.

I think that I might be responsible for starting the Maddison rumours. However, since then a lot of people on here have sort of agreed with me.
-
He has played at times as a striker, but it is not his primary role.
-
Probably. But I would rather have Maddison. I think that he could create lots of chances for our team. Marriott benefited big time.
-
Do you think that means a deal between the clubs is agreed and it is now down to Maddison agreeing his pay?
-
Totally agree with all that you said.
-
It was from a Leeds fan, but maybe he didn’t confirm it was actually from them. However he did say that there had been new bids in.
-
Yes the chairman admitted that in the last 48 hours that Leeds have made bids for both Maddison and Marriott.
-
Yes but he isn’t very good in the air for somebody so tall.
-
I have asked:- Peterborough chairman 3 times, Richard Sharpe twice and Nixon twice about Maddison sand none have replied!!
-
I think a 15 goal a season striker would cost a lot more than £2.5M. I think Maddison scored 12 goals and had 23 assists in 2017-18!! That would be a pretty good return for £2.5M.
-
Keep the dream alive you never know. It all depends on highly Tony rates him. He could see him as a major catalyst to make things happen, in which case he may think £2.5M is a price worth paying. Until he has gone somewhere else I will keep wishing and hoping.

http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/07/10/do-west-brom-among-bookies-favourites-to-sign-peterboroughs-marc/ Maybe it's not us, although it has been reported that 2 championship clubs have met his release clause of £2.5M - Us and West Brom? The bookies clearly don't think it is us.
