  1. Whoever recommended the three loanees should be shot. It’s bad enough that it looks like money and loan spots wasted, but the worst of it is our academy players aren’t getting the chance.
  2. How bad is Poveda?!! Did he do anything right. I thought that he is supposed to be a fast tricky player. Useless. We had to bring useless loanees into the side when Butterworth and Edun would have been far better options.
  3. It seems to me that because of FFP the Venkies back the manager for two years and if it hasn’t been successful they have to cut things back to the bare necessities for a year before give it a go again. It’s not a lack of investment their hands are tied because of FFP. Next year with a new manager he will be allowed to go for it again.
  4. Why? He wasn’t good enough for PNE. Sure he got Norwich promoted but didn’t TM get Boro and West Brom promoted? Chris Wilder might be a better bet unless his tactics that got Sheffield Utd promoted but ultimately got found out, makes him a “busted flush”.
  5. Should he really go out on loan though? TM said that after his time in League1 he could handle the physical players, but he wasn’t yet savvy enough to deal with the cute, clever players of the Championship. So how is going back on loan to face league 1 players going to help his development? Surely he needs to face Championship players to develop. Even training with our players everyday must help and Mowbray should be coaching him in the ways of a seasoned CB. He also gives us cover for a number of positions across the back four.
  6. Do you know why they haven’t been asked? Is it because they can’t increase their pay within the current wage structure?
  7. I agree, we are scraping the barrel here. Two possible wingers coming with loads of speed and skill but no end product. I strongly suspect that they are both not really wanted by their clubs. I really hope that I m wrong and that they excel here and make a difference.
  8. On a permanent for a fee? If so any idea how much, will it allow us to pay a small fee for Dale?
  9. Any idea how much he might cost? He looks a very exciting player. I would be overjoyed if we got him for decent money.
  10. With Carter and Ayala we have more chance of winning headers.
  11. Btw where was Chapman today? Is he injured?
  12. Mine kept freezing and even though my WiFi was okay. There weren’t any replays either. Not impressed at all.
  13. Reminds me of Travis when he made his debut. He’s got a lot of potential and can pass when under pressure which is a major plus. I can see him, Travis and Buckley being the future midfield three. Whitehall is also highly rated and could feature at some time if we are not going to making any signings.
  14. Our managers have “given it a go” and been supposedly backed to get promoted, but without the necessary conviction to really “go for it”. By this I mean they have been given a bigger budget in terms of wages to attract players but they have been with the exception of BB, AA and SG freebies and loans. It merely made us more competitive not raised the bar sufficiently to be consistent and be in the top 6. we needed one or two real quality signings to make the difference especially as the two main big money signings BB and SG had been flops in terms of scoring. It has been half hearted, reserved “backing” of the managers and lacked real conviction. “Go for it” but with one arm tied behind their backs. The teams that have made the top 6 in the last few years, with the exception of Barnsley last year, have already had decent squads and added quality to get them success. They have speculated to accumulate. It is clearly a high risk gamble to do so with disastrous consequences if it fails, eg Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday. However, financing a more palatable (for Venkies) slow, organic progress whereby we take advantage of our superb academy and become year on year a better side would probably be sustainable. Unfortunately TM cocked up the one big chance we had last year of a top 6 finish. He stupidly thought that quoting that we were at the start of a journey would get him more time. WRONG. we desperately need a change of ceo and manager to get the best of what is a decent bunch of players. I’m hoping for a poor start, TM out and a new manager in to reinvigorate our team. Wishful thinking I know but you have got try to be positive.
  15. We need a few more bodies in to cover injuries obviously, but I think a good manager would get our current crop of players performing really well. TM seems to want to be seen as a brilliant tactician, but he’s not good enough and probably confuses the players. It certainly looks that way as they don’t seem to know what they are expected to do.
  16. If money is needed quickly I would rather lose AA for less money than expected rather than lose the training ground forever.
  17. By being “kind and considerate” by rewarding loyalty so that his players love him, the painful downside to this wasting of money is the behind the scenes staff losing their jobs!!
  18. You don’t sell them for a profit if you let their contracts run down. Absolute shambles of a club with the trio in Charge. Hope I am just feeling depressed and pessimistic and things work out better than expected, but it is going to be a long season.
  19. If only that could happen, but sadly they don’t seem to do logic.
  20. Managers come in, con the owners that they can deliver the promised land if only they give them time and money and then fail to deliver on the promise. The manager leaves after pocketing a nice salary for a few years, but it’s the fans and club who suffer the consequences.
