Hi Glen are you confident about the new season? If Farke comes as you have predicted, do you think that he can do for Rovers what he did for Norwich? By that I mean get us promoted and playing exciting football. How high do rate the chance of Waggot etc Pulling off the signing of Farke and his back room staff?

Unfortunately they don’t know the meaning of the word urgent and can’t understand how important it is to act quickly, as in “the early bird catches the worm”. They have a huge organisation and we are unfortunately too far down the “pecking” order. I think we are regarded as a hobby/project and so are not deserving of their attention in a timely manner. They either do not learn from their mistakes or they don’t care if we don’t get the signing we need whether that be a manager or a player.

Zeefuik at £3.5M is a none starter for me. I’d much prefer the Barnsley RB.

As Martonrover said our squad back then had tremendous talent and so recovered well. Our current squad has talent too but is too thin on the ground, so to expect the same outcome could be seen as being too optimistic. However, we have been in the top six on merit despite everything and apart from the top two teams who will be automatically promoted the rest are totally inconsistent so anything is possible. When we have our strongest team out we are capable of beating anybody (except Fulham) so we just have to get our confidence back and hopefully our luck will change at the perfect time. If we can finish on a high, even if we don’t get promoted, we will have something to look back on and be happy about, especially as we all thought that we would be in a relegation battle this season. I don’t know whether this had already been asked so I apologise if it has, but how does the present second half of the season compare with 91/92 when we went up with Dalgleish? I seem to recall that we were coasting the league had some bad injuries such as David Speedy and then our form just fell away and we fell out of the playoffs. When the injured players returned our form bounced back and we just about made the playoffs and ultimately promotion. I mention this as history seems to be repeating itself. Could we yet see a resurge in form with Dack and Diaz back and get promoted? Maybe all is not yet lost, remember Rovers always like to do things dramatically!!

If he had acquired a proven goal scorer as a back up he wouldn’t be in this position. With little money available an ageing one, a League one goal scorer or a really good loan could have made all the difference. He was relying too much on BBD and even if he hadn’t been injured it was unlikely he could have kept scoring at the rate he was. There are too few players in his squad who are capable of scoring more than one or two goals a season so another person who could score was essential. He was unlucky with Markanday getting injured but he was always a gamble.

Don’t worry Coventry’s chances will be right back on track when they beat us after the international break.

Maja for Stoke is doing well. Is that 2 or 3 goals he’s scored so far. TM didn’t want to sign him because he thought he would be too rusty, so he gets nobody. What a genius!!

I know this is on sky but I am in a country where I should be able to receive a stream. Is anybody else not getting a stream? Also how do I complain to Rovers Tv there doesn’t seem to be a way of communicating with them?

He has a good shot on him, but they all seem to go high and wide. I don’t think he has made a keeper make a save yet, the nearest he came was crashing his shot against the bar. Also, as you said he is greedy, like Armstrong, but without the rewards. He seems to have a little bit of pace and trickery, but generally loses it in the end. He doesn’t seem to be a team player though as he doesn’t look to set other players up when in possession. He’s not match fit maybe because he has not had enough game time. He definitely looked off on Monday night, but maybe he was carrying a slight injury, but was drafted in because they were so short of numbers. His greediness maybe because TM tells him to shoot on sight because of his shooting ability. I think that there is a player there, but he needs a good loan spell to build his confidence, strength and stamina.

TM kept playing Rothwell on the wing for ages and then converted him into a central midfielder. Hedges has a fair bit of pace I believe so who knows?

I tend to agree and he is 27 which doesn’t seem to fit our recruitment policy, but he has been on fire this year and it would be a real statement of intent if they signed him. They could do a deal to sign him on loan which is converted into a permanent deal at the end of the season. They did that with Brereton.
