  1. With Carter and Ayala we have more chance of winning headers.
  2. Mine kept freezing and even though my WiFi was okay. There weren’t any replays either. Not impressed at all.
  3. Reminds me of Travis when he made his debut. He’s got a lot of potential and can pass when under pressure which is a major plus. I can see him, Travis and Buckley being the future midfield three. Whitehall is also highly rated and could feature at some time if we are not going to making any signings.
  4. Our managers have “given it a go” and been supposedly backed to get promoted, but without the necessary conviction to really “go for it”. By this I mean they have been given a bigger budget in terms of wages to attract players but they have been with the exception of BB, AA and SG freebies and loans. It merely made us more competitive not raised the bar sufficiently to be consistent and be in the top 6. we needed one or two real quality signings to make the difference especially as the two main big money signings BB and SG had been flops in terms of scoring. It has been half hearted, reserved “backing” of the managers and lacked real conviction. “Go for it” but with one arm tied behind their backs. The teams that have made the top 6 in the last few years, with the exception of Barnsley last year, have already had decent squads and added quality to get them success. They have speculated to accumulate. It is clearly a high risk gamble to do so with disastrous consequences if it fails, eg Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday. However, financing a more palatable (for Venkies) slow, organic progress whereby we take advantage of our superb academy and become year on year a better side would probably be sustainable. Unfortunately TM cocked up the one big chance we had last year of a top 6 finish. He stupidly thought that quoting that we were at the start of a journey would get him more time. WRONG. we desperately need a change of ceo and manager to get the best of what is a decent bunch of players. I’m hoping for a poor start, TM out and a new manager in to reinvigorate our team. Wishful thinking I know but you have got try to be positive.
  5. We need a few more bodies in to cover injuries obviously, but I think a good manager would get our current crop of players performing really well. TM seems to want to be seen as a brilliant tactician, but he’s not good enough and probably confuses the players. It certainly looks that way as they don’t seem to know what they are expected to do.
  6. If money is needed quickly I would rather lose AA for less money than expected rather than lose the training ground forever.
  7. By being “kind and considerate” by rewarding loyalty so that his players love him, the painful downside to this wasting of money is the behind the scenes staff losing their jobs!!
  8. You don’t sell them for a profit if you let their contracts run down. Absolute shambles of a club with the trio in Charge. Hope I am just feeling depressed and pessimistic and things work out better than expected, but it is going to be a long season.
  9. If only that could happen, but sadly they don’t seem to do logic.
  10. Managers come in, con the owners that they can deliver the promised land if only they give them time and money and then fail to deliver on the promise. The manager leaves after pocketing a nice salary for a few years, but it’s the fans and club who suffer the consequences.
  11. Not to mention the thousands of lost fans who may never be interested again in supporting the Rovers.
  12. So their vanity project might be coming to an end or are we just going to be put on the back burner and be the last in any agenda and forgotten about?
  13. Wow that is unbelievably depressing!! Even if they have come to the end of the line, surely nobody would be willing to take the club on with an annual deficit of £20m.
  14. Oh dear!! The problem is, they did this before and we ended up getting relegated to league one. If it happens again we might end up like Sunderland or Pompey and not be able to get out and be saddled with a huge debt too. Do they never learn?😡😡
  15. Hi how do you know all this? It certainly has the feel of what you say is happening.
  16. Been following Rovers for about 56 years, was a season ticket holder for 15 years, but now exiled in Devon. Ken Furphy was my father-in-law (who resided in Devon) one reason why my wife wanted to move to Devon and away from my beloved Rovers.

  17. Because of our lack of cash at the time, it would have been all they could pay so not agreeing to the ridiculous sell on fee would not have allowed the deal to be completed. They had us over a barrel.
  18. Last year was “the year” to get in the top six. Unfortunately the manager’s tactics of possession play was nullified by some canny managers and other managers followed suit. TM had no answer to these counter tactics and was found clueless as to how to turn it around. In fairness though, the pitch at Ewood post Christmas was appalling and did not suit his possession based tactics especially against a high press. Unfortunately we didn’t have a Danny Graham type player to go direct. This year is going to one of survival and rebuild as we live with the consequences of FFP. If we sell AA it may allow a little money to spend, but I don’t have the confidence that it would be spent well. AA would at least allow us to survive and maybe prosper if we kept him, but it’s a big ask to expect him to do as well as last season. The possibility of relegation this year would probably be the death knell of the club.
  19. Have you seen the quality of the goals he has scored for Shrewsbury?
  20. I think that he has the same attributes as AA, pace, balance and a good shot with either foot. Defending is not something he likes to do, but AA improved when he played as a CF because he didn’t have to chase back and defend. He is a confidence player who needs to be loved to get the best out of him. Make him the main man and he could be our answer if we lost AA.
  21. Joe a quick question. Why would Lewis Thompson be released, I thought he was earmarked for a first team future?
  22. We are also ill equipped to battle for points as we don’t have enough fighters in the team.
