  1. Erm....did Homme do some demos without him or something? Because he's played on all of their previous albums.
  2. I've told you before, Celtic players don't cheat. Especially not Petrov. And Neil Lennon is a lovely lad. EDIT> Interestingly, Ricksen has only been booked two or three times this season...I suppose that must be down to the refereeing conspiracy.
  3. I've had a fair share of disappointing albums recently as well. Rhapsody - preposterously overblown (and hollow at the centre) Sonata Arctica - lazy Megadeth - painfully average Still, the new Kamelot and Judas Priest albums are both very good, especially the former.
  4. Hey, I'm not defending the manner Ferguson's departure here, or his character for that matter, but this attitude of "he was always crap anyway, we're better off without him" is clearly nonsense.
  5. Ferguson had an excellent game for a battling Scotland side that was eventually squeezed out by a much classier team. Maybe you were watching a different match?
  6. What with all this talk of classic sci fi novels that were made into crap films, I recently read The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle (not Crichton's abortion) for the first time. While it was all fairly pedestrian by modern standards, it was good fun to read about dinosaurs from the point of view of the early 20th century, and the chapter It Was Terrible In The Forest (or something) really stood out. Probably the most entertaining aspect was the 'glory of the Empire' attitude of the characters (and the writer) that allowed them to go around gloriously blasting extremely rare creatures into extinction and ***spoiler, I suppose*** helping enslave a race of ape-men. "Man was always the master" and all that. A breath of fresh air from all the eco-warrior rubbish these days. That plus lots of casual racism.
  7. you mean the one where there are no tripods? Although it has the funniest scene in any film I have ever seen. They launch nukes at the Aliens, hide behind a small wall, get coated in fallout, and does anyone lose even a single hair? Do they hell. An awful film. The new film - ive seen some trailers - is a modern day version set in the US - it however looks quite good. Speilberg's directing this and I thought Minority Report was really good. So im expecting a good pop corn movie. Looks more like a remake of Independance Day, though. As long as there's tripods, I'll be happy.
  8. You know he's been playing like this for his whole career, it's not exactly a new dimension foir the refs to take into account.
  9. ...how could I have forgetten...? Iron Maiden - Nodding Donkey Blues.
  10. I think its the worst title for an album I've ever seen.
  11. Should I feel priveleged to be getting called a Geordie with a brain, I wonder?
  12. Those who were so quick to jump on his back will doubtlessly give him zero credit if he manages to salvage this season for Newcastle. It's really next term when he has to be judged and I wish him all the best. It would still be nice to beat them in the cup final though. I can but dream.
  13. I've just finished watching the game (buggering video is back in working order, it seems) and despite the poor stuff on show, we've got to be happy with a point. Todd and Nelsen (for the most part) were excellent again, and Reid put on another encouraging show in the centre of the park. I couldn't believe our luck when I saw Riise was only a sub, and he started like a house on fire second half. Neill was made to look a tit on more than one occasion, and his passing was as poor as Busted's set pieces. Nissa also caused some more sphincter clenching moments. A new pair of full backs in the summer anyone?
  14. Haven't decided yet - Indie albums always take a while for me to come to a conclusion on. The and were just there for the opposing moods the two albums bring about. PS: dan - looks like we finally agree on something.
  15. I checked, it's on Arise. Although 'The Roots Of Sepultura' sounds like a compilation, so I guess it could be there too. Good cover, i checked it out today. PLAY IT AT EWOOD.
  16. Well, I'm happy he'll be playing fewer games a season, but it's just typical of Robbie to get into a clash with someone before even working with him for the first time.
  17. How dare you! How dare you! I think you'll find that's just a cover version and the mighty Motorhead's version is far superior. It drives me mad when bands get undeserved credit for covering other peoples songs. How's about Rovers coming out to the Grammy award winning "Whiplash" by Motorhead then? or "Overkill". Or "Ceremony" by New Order. I was actually quite happy with "All These Things That I've Done" by the Killers that they started playing recently. I know it's a Motorhead song, but I've only heard the Sepultura version, so I I could only mention that version. How about Sweden by Divine Comedy, or Songs of Love by the same band. The latter being the Father Ted theme tune as well. Out of interest, is it covered by old (decent) Sepultura or new (mallcore trash) Sepultura?
  18. Two new purchases yesterday: The Apostate by Luceferion and Warnings/Promises by Idlewild
  19. I know that 'Amon' is Elvish for 'Mount' (only because of the MeloDeath Metal band Amon Amarth, I really don't have that much time on my hands). That's about it.
  20. Now I've got that website in my computer's history. Honest it's not how it looks.
  21. Carvalho, the cheating swine. The worst aspect of the match was, predictably, the commentary team of Clive "COME ON CHELSEA!" Tyldsley and Andy "Boy, those Republic of Ireland caps feel like a long time ago now" Townsend. After the breathless cry from Clive of "what odds would you have got on Collina giving a dubious decision against Chelsea?" after Ferreria had punched the ball into orbit, the only reference to the blatant obstruction by Carvalho on the keeper was Townsend saying something to the effect of "you know those bloody Spaniards are having the audacity to suggest the keeper was being fouled...and he wasn't" (Yes he was, andy). Phew, that was a long sentence. You'd think I'd get used to it. At least Man U are out.
  22. Stop stating that as if it's bloody fact. It just isn't. It's hardly going to be a case of "Happy 34th birthday Paul....oh crums, his legs have gone."
  23. Wow, youth and class! What wonerful quantifiable advantages those are. Dickov is our top scorer, give hime some credit. I hate hate hate reading tripe about how penalties somehow don't count as goals - he gets criticised for missing one against Chelsea and then gets no credit for scoring the other three.
  24. Oh God, please stop, I don't know if my brain can take any more of this...this...argh you've damaged me so much I can't even come up with a word for it. Not sentimental...something like it though.
