[Archived] Blackburn End Drummers ?
bob fleming replied to ABBEY's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
How's about a poll then? The BBE Drummers. 1. Keep them, they improve the atmosphere. In fact employ more. 2. Get rid sharpish, they ruin the atmosphere. I think the result will be obvious but it'll offer conclusive proof, if proof were needed. -

What?!? Two grand? That's bloody steep. Or is it actually £ 25.39 plus a cheeky £ 0.57p for the chav who served you? They're having a laugh that lot - this is pay back for the discounted pies on New Years Eve. I blame the Whelans -
I'll second that. Best game I've been to at Ewood. The Blackburn End was absolutely barmy that day. We were up for it anyway but after going 2 down it was a case of "Oh s***, we've blown it again". What a come back, as soon as Scott Sellars scored with a deflected free kick there was only going to be one winner. Speedie was outstanding. There were a few dicey moments at the back of the BBE I can tell you, got a bit crushed on a barrier celebrating one of the goals. On leaving the ground I actually noticed a red stripe on my shirt where the paint had come off! And this was at the end of the season! Fantastic stuff that day, a little dangerous but what an unbelievable atmosphere. Unfortunately due to all seater stadia that sort of adrenalin rush won't be experienced again. And people wonder why some fans want terracing back? All I can say is that you just had to be there, those were the days!

[Archived] Alan Shearer's Testimonial

Come now Paul. I think those smilies only added to the quality of beaney's post and to the point he was trying to make. It was certainly an angle that I think we all missed first time round. -

That's exactly it gazsimm. Not sure how many they'd get to take but I'd imagine they will easily sell their allocation. Does anyone reckon we'd take more than 2,000? So he picked Celtic for money reasons? Damn him and his charitable ways. "I chose Celtic as they'd sell more tickets and we'd raise more for charity via a bigger gate." Evil man. Tis the work of Saunders I tell thee. -

Can't see there being a problem, although there has been a dramatic drop in temperature over the last hour or so. Still not to worry, no doubt it'll warm up when the sun goes down. -

7th. But I agree with you. They're very poor. Very poor indeed. Bellamy and Pongolle could have a bit of fun up against Breen. Who is very, very poor. 4-1 Rovers. Bellamy x2, Bentley and Savage. Stead for them predictably. -
[Archived] 10 man Everton 1-0 Rovers

www.satfootball.com is a good one to add to your favourites. However, The Hordens have actually started showing Rovers matches now before they've even been played. Everton V Rovers Live Tonight at 8.00. -
That was Marcus Babbel. Bellamy is easily the quickest player I've ever seen for Rovers. Shearer was quick before his knee injury. Gallacher was very nippy as well. Not sure about Garner being quick - maybe like Gally - nippy over the first few yards, which always helps as a forward. Other than that though I'm struggling a bit (Franny Carr, "The Train" and Windy were wingers). Kuqi is also very quick apparently, it's just a shame he needs to run 20 odd yards to get up to full speed.

Very true Walls. But at least ozzie has now given Hughes the problem of who he can spend those two pounds on. That's presuming he sees all that money and we're not paying off more loans with it. Still it's a nice problem for Mark Hughes to have I suppose. Oz - those mittens sounded absolutely rubbish - whoever made them wants stringing up. I'll get me scarf.

I take your point of course but don't you think that there should be an outlet at Blackburn Rovers that actually sells Official Blackburn Rovers scarves? It's hardly obsure/twee - which is probably how a BRFC tax disk holder can be described. I asked for one before Christmas, they do do them, but had sold out. I asked when they were getting more in - "I don't know, we only get what we're sent". Which I can't quite believe but I lost the will to live with that response so didn't ask anymore silly questions. So attendances are down. You'd have thought that the club would be looking to maximise revenue in other areas (e.g. BRFC Merchandise) yet you can't even buy a Blackburn Rovers scarf. It's laughable. Or maybe the deal that was struck with Sports World International has actually made us so much money we don't need to worry about selling scarves anymore?

The Kaiser Chiefs won't be happy though, in fact I predict a riot. "Harry: Not impressed"

Quite. "'But he's got to look at himself a bit, he's out contesting every decision - every decision that goes against his team. " Just look at that picture! There's Fergie clearly NOT contesting a decision. Hughesy is about to give him a good slap. Well, we must be doing something right if all Fergie can talk about in the build up to a game for Manchester United is Blackburn Rovers. The man's rattled. -
I agree also. Time to open up a "Souness In!" thread.

He also said that we did it without David bellamy up front. Which of course was a mistake as he meant Craig Bellamy. Everyone in the studio laughed. Lineker then did a hilarious David Bellamy impression for a couple of seconds. Those guys kill me, they really do. -
Funny you should mention that. er, no. The Fast Show

She had a prang in her car the other day pulling out of her drive. Souness said that the incident puts everything into persepctive and all that. Link "She pulled out of our drive into the lane outside and saw a parked car start to move off. A bit suspicious, so she looked over her shoulder and smashed into a wall." "Hang on, that's suspicious, I'd better drive into that wall" It was probably Saunders. I'm sure the Geordies completely understood where he was coming from; the fact that he can't run a bath never mind a football club should be ignored as his daughter is in fact Mrs Magoo. Joking aside, I'm glad she's OK.

Aye. They really took to him it seems.

Exactly philip. Couldn't believe what I saw last night when that interview was on. Me and Mrs F watched it and when it has finished looked at each other and burst out laughing. If anyone had any doubts as to whether Fergie has still "got it" then that interview last night showed that he's losing the plot big time. 26 minutes -
"Go on. Clear off." Here you go AS. Found it. Thanks also to whoever posted this on BRFCS at the time (I forget now).

Leave him out of this.

Home 3, Away 3. Home 2 is OK but it's get a bit "stripey" for my liking. Hat's off to the club for letting the fans decide. Plus they'll make a few quid out of it. Maybe enough for a new striker? N.B. Please remember that the badge only goes in the middle of the shirt when we intend to get relegated.

That's a turn up for the trousers. I bet Fergie's delighted.
