[Archived] Bellamy Out Injured
bob fleming replied to Hughesy's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Surely you mean the one point he raises? Still as least he's keeping himself amused. As for Bellamy being injured, any way you look at it it's bad news. He's streets ahead of any of the others. Let's just hope Dickov and Kuqi can do the business. As this still hasn't been reported anyway other than the LET (presumably The Times got their story from there as well - surely SSN would have reported it by now?) I'm still hoping that this is all a pre Christmas prank to wind them up and that there's actually nothing wrong with him. Nah -
He's denying it. "It's too early at the moment for this to happen. I'm not going to go back to Rangers until I've bought some more bad players from them for too much money." Souness should probably have said earlier today, but didn't.
-
Leave it out Dave. It's called "good news". I just found out Rovers received £1.65m compo. I'm quite pleased about it. I'd hardly say I was obsessed. It's hardly a Vinjay scenario is it? As for Saunders *Evil* - well that's a different story.

[Archived] Squirrels

"They are said to have scampered off at the sight of humans, some carrying pieces of flesh." Fair play to the little black rascals, if I saw some humans roaming round carrying pieces of flesh I gather my nuts and run off an all. There's no need for it, no need at all. Not even in Russia. Good spot Sox. We don't want their sort up here on Fernhurst Farm. One of the main reasons we moved here in the first place was that they have wild gold fish roaming the streets. We (although obviously I can't speak for everyone) don't want plastics snakes coming up here scaring squirels away and eating the fish. The ducks would run riot. As Richard Attenborough once commented "You shouldn't **** about with nature". Mind you what does he know about any of it? -
I can't let that pass without comment philip: Thanks. To think that, according to some sources, Souness was one game away from the sack anyway before Fat Ferwederwick came a knockin. Fair play to Williams on this occasion; for keeping a straight face. Still it's all in the past now. Must move on.

No he didn't do the dive, just to annoy my 3 year old daughter who was looking forward to seeing it again when I told her this morning that he'd scored. I did try explaining to her that Kuqi was doing the right thing by picking the ball out of the net and running with it back to the centre spot as we were still losing. She really wasn't interested. A fickle fan. What a great result! I'd taken several sleeping pills and drunk 3 bottles of brandy shortly after we went 2-0 down. Fortunately my wife found me on 90 minutes. How we laughed at the hospital when I was having my stomach pumped. 3-2! It's a funny old game.

Which is more than our owners, the Walkers, would do with their £600 million lying in the bank doing nothi... Ooops.... Sorry about that. I thought I was someone else there for a minute.

[Archived] Savage Bad Press
bob fleming replied to ihateburnley's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Whilst I'm not entirely happy with Robbies reaction it's disappointing to see that so many Rovers fans are prepared to stick the knife in. Cast our minds back just over a week ago. Danny Mills throws a blatant left hook at MGP. Not a mention. The BBC didn't want to discuss it nor show replays of the incident. If it had been the other way round and Savage had thumped Mills I'm sure he'd be looking at a 3 match ban by now and getting slated all over the place, the headlines wouldn't take too much imagination "Disgrace to football", "Kick him out for good" - and that would just be on BRFCS.com. As Bing points out - the rules state: "If a player raises his hands to another players face then that player should be red carded. Unless of course that player is playing for a "big club", is wearing mittens and has maybe poked Robbie Savage in the eye." We're a bit quick to condemn our own if you ask me. From last nights LET: "Blackburn played very well and in the middle of the park especially. they were very strong and closed us down very well" - Arsene Wenger. So well done Steven Reid. -

Gary Harkins is the player on loan. Steve Harkness once played for us under Souness. He wasn't very good. -

I agree, Tugay should start. As ever I can't see anything for us at Highbury, but you never know. An optimistic 1-1. Joe Baker for Arsenal and the Welsh Weasel Craig Bellamy with a late equaliser for us. -
[Archived] Broadband
bob fleming replied to ABBEY's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football Archive
Well, at last, I'm up and running on this new fangled broadband business. Well I am at the moment, I saw a squirrel out the back earlier who looked none too pleased about it. Evil looking sod he was. I don't know what all the fuss is about, there's not much difference if you ask me apart from it's a lot quicker. I'm not far from the box on Jack Walker way (Dalglish) if that's any help ah - which it isn't. If anyone is short on microfilters I've four spare from previous attempts to get broadband from BT. Each time I was told that there wouldn't be a problem, even when I asked them to double check, and it still didn't bleeding work. The thing is ah, unless I'm very much mistaken, there's no way of knowing when they'll have upgraded to copper in your corner of the farm (unless you spot them removing squirrels and ducks from a grey BT box on the side of the road near your house). They certainly won't ring you, "Ah, Mr ah, you'll be pleased to know that you can get broadband now, sorry for pissing you about old chap, we don't know what we're doing." That won't happen. I only knew because Lee found out. Good luck anyway, surely they won't leave one corner of the estate without? -
Maybe he will? The Stiffs are playing Blackburn tonight.

I think we can safely say that yer sparrer would quite comfortably kick seven bells out of yer "adult basic" plover if that picture is anything to go by. It doesn't look as though it even has the strength to fly let alone kick off. Besides up on the Fernhurst Farm estate the sparrers are being taught various matial arts techniques by the squirrels. It's no place for a plover at night up there I can tell them now (if any are reading, which I doubt they are, as they're soft). -

http://www.soccerphile.com/soccerphile/bet...redictions.html What a load of old rollocks! "It'll be a tough match" - "It'll be an interesting match" - "It'll be a tug of war" ?!? Eh? Hang on a minute!? Will it? It better bloody not be, that's not why I bought a season ticket. What was in the stars that day Anita? LSD? She's talking out of her arse and no mistake. Mind you I wouldn't cross her. Hard as nails that lass. Anyway, 2-1 Rovers. Bellamy with two more. Bob Bolder with a most unexpected consolation for Athletic. -
[Archived] Liverpool 1-0 Rovers
bob fleming replied to roversWASmylife's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Can’t see many goals in this, I do worry where they’re going to come from. Apparently, Peter Crouch has been on hunger strike all season and will continue until he scores a goal. Hopefully that won’t be tomorrow but I hope it’s soon as he’s not looking at all well and could snap at any minute. The way I see it is this, a 1-1 draw. A Fernando Alonso cross will see a Billy Liddell header give Liverpool a very early lead on 15 seconds, only for Kuqi to score with a 2 yard screamer in the 81st minute. Unfortunately they’ll be further problems for Hughesy when Kuqi lands on Dickov with his “swan dive" thing and the unfortunate Scotsman is squashed into the Anfield turf by the **** witted Finn. They’ll not find Dickov until the back end of next week meaning he’ll probably miss the Brum game as he’s infested with worms. Not nice, not nice at all. -
[Archived] England International Games
bob fleming replied to Blueboy Downunder's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
The players we have at our disposal should be playing better than the dogs dinner that has been served up during the last three international games. They are under achieving big style. Well first and foremost I'd go for Mike Bassett. A more realistic target would be Mourinho but I doubt he'd leave Chelsea for a smaller club with less money. But really I think we should go for an Englishman again. Alan Curbishley, Big Sam, Harry Redknapp - I'd take any of these guys. My choice would be Harry. Then again, since my last post Sven has bucked his ideas up and we've qualified. Hopefully they'll be a massive improvement against Poland but I doubt it. He's had his time, we're on the way down, time for a change. -

Sven can go after Wednesday for me, regardless of the result. He's clearly lost the dressing room (even though it's well sign posted at O.T.). Sure, the sending off was extremely harsh (and unjust) but we seemed to be totally lacking in direction and purpose even before then. Hansen had it right - we should be looking at scoring x3 / x4 against a team such as Austria. We're going nowhere under Sven - compare recent performances with those against Germany away and Newcastle at St James' from a few years ago - there's no comparison. He may as well go now and save us all some time. -
Anyone see Rooney laughing his head off in the crowd? I think someone asked him if he was worried about getting his place back on Wednesday.

Just spent the last 6 hours in casualty. They're harder than they look those squirrels. Especially in the dark. I reckon there was a gang of 'em, all tooled up and everything. They also tried to confuse me a lot of the time by going "quack". Very clever Mr Squirrel, very clever indeed. Scum. -

I didn't know that Theno. That's it then, I'll show 'em, I'm going to leather one after I've had several cans of wife beater tonight, that's if they're hard enough to show themselves in the dark, which I bet they're not. Al - fetch Oddie round tonight and he'll get the same. -

Exactly right Andy. The answer to your / my problem is right in front of us MCMXCM1875.43. It's a well known fact, on certain parts of the internet (no link), that the one natural opponent to the grey squirrel rat is, as luck would have it, the common BT / Fernhurst Farm dwelling Duck. So, all we need to do now is smoke the Ducks out of the BT boxes up there. These vicious killing machines will in turn see off the grey squirrel rats by jumping on their tales. Which in turn will mean: 1. The return of the cute red squirrel (see above: Ahhh!). Hurrah!! 2. No more holes in everyones lawn. Hurrah!! 3. Broadband for all. Hurrah!! 4. More food for birds and that as the squirels will no longer be eating it. Hurrah!! 5. Killer BT Fighting Ducks on the rampage. Booo!! If that doesn't work MCM just buy a flamethrower from that new carpet place on Bolton Road (they have them under the counter). -
Bizarrely, after they sacked him he wanted to get his old job back and came for an interview. The Chairman was having none of it and told his secretary to get rid of him. Hence the expression "keeping ze voolf from ze door". As they say in Voolfsberg.
-
A chap by the name of Wolfgang Wolf used to manage German side Wolfsberg. They sacked him though I believe. Perhaps they're hoping Henning will change his name to Wolf. You couldn't make it up.
-
Keep the sig - get rid of Shillito. Of course, I jest. I've slept on this, most uncomfortable, and come to the conclusion that if I scroll down quick enough, I miss it. No big deal. I'm not arsed. What about a poll, a pole or a postal ballot? Is this something the ISA can look into? Has anyone actually written to the club or the LET instead of just moaning about it on here? Don't forget that Chairman Williams has always done his job when prompted in the past. Rovers 3 West Bromwich Albion 1 4-4-2 again thank you please Mr Hughes. Bellamy, Dickov and MGP for the Blue and Whites and Frank Skinner for the Baggies. Weather: Wet, very wet, will it ever stop? Gate: Silver. Attendence: 18,790.
