  1. When are they planning to increase the budget for stadium maintenance? The roof on the Blackburn End is leaking, close to where I sit. Looking it around the stadium, it needs a good clean too. I also would imagine there’s other issues.
  2. David Dunn- didn’t Sven take Danny Murphy and someone else instead?
  3. Probably the worst league in Europe, and I’m speaking as someone who has Scottish family. There is absolutely no competition and there hasn’t been since Aberdeen and Dundee United made a fist of it in the 80s. This is why there’s very little money that gets paid out for TV deals. This is why Scottish players leave in their droves. As one Celtic fan recently described it to me: “Scottish fitba is pish.”
  4. Waggot has said no figures will be released, in order to us the best chance when negotiating, and rightly so in my eyes.
  5. Disagree- West Brom and Swansea are closer to that than Leeds. Leeds will go under the radar because it’s been common practice for many years to hire and fire. West Brom have foreign owner who doesn’t really know what’s going on at the club. They’re broke, meaning they’re currently in limbo. I’ll bet some decision there are Venky-like in summer! Swansea have a number of owners which are currently at war with each other. The fans absolutely detest the Yanks for the lack of investment, despite millions coming in from the TV deal. Add to the fact they’ve avoided relegation a good few times by the skin of their teeth, just like Sunderland did, they could well be heading down again. Common denominator in all of this? Foreign owners! With all this new TV money, why are there very few British owners?
  6. He sounds just like Danny Murphy according to Stoke fans, on BBC Sport. Him and Glen Johnson have just been released from Stoke.
  7. 2-0 to England at half time, and they’re playing some good, entertaining football for a change. Dele Ali has been the standout so far.
  8. We need an older bloke to appear and restore our faith in experienced players! I’m still having nightmares about Etuhu, never mind Danny Murphy ?
  9. They’re all foreign though. 2 of those were given teams which even Owen Coyle could succeed at. It’d be nice to see a recently retired England international do well, but it just doesn’t happen. The last one which managed in this division was Stuart Pearce, and he was bloody awful. Away from Championship, Neville, Barnes and others have failed. Even Gareth Southgate’s a failure in my eyes for his relegation at Boro. The only ex-England international I can think of as doing well in my life time is Steve Coppell.
  10. Wouldn’t be unusual- he hardly gets a game at Cardiff, and probably will less so now, with their promotion.
  11. It’s the inconsistency that worries me. He didn’t get punished for his decision making in League 1, but there’s a far higher chance he will in the Championship, due to the sheer gulf in quality.
  12. For anyone who had the misfortune of Plymouth away, there was a chap there who enjoyed waving a Dingle scarf around.... there must be a couple of them down there.
  13. I can’t see Bruce sticking around if there’s no money to spend! It might be the end of Villa’s long superiority of their rivals too... wonder where I’ve seen that before? Odds on Villa going down?
  14. He can’t be been that bad, can he? He spent most of last season in a decent Bristol City side, who were in the top 6 for a lot of it.
  15. Excellent football by Fulham in the first half, whilst the second they showed how good they were defensively, after they’d gone down to 10. Has anyone ever seen so many Fulham fans though?
  16. A centre back is the least of our worries, in my eyes. A striker and some wingers are the bigger priority in my eyes!
  17. Fulham looking the better team, although Grealish looks a tricky customer, when he gets the ball for Villa. Villa have got a very expensive squad playing- would they have to sell if they didn’t go up? This is their second season down after all...
  18. It’s the truth though- funded us, albeit because of their mistakes. Venky’s must have had to spend money- the club wouldn’t be in existence otherwise. Someone must have the income and outgoings to hand, since their disaster of a reign started?
  19. Venky’s have always made money available. Look at when Bowyer he was in charge- he was still given some money to spend after all that money Kean had blown. Lambert- loads of loans and the odd signing. Even last season, Mowbray got money to spend. Talk about sales all you want, but in the grand scheme of things Venky’s have put money into the club.
  20. Someone like that is likely to come to increase their pension pot too.. Young and hungry is the way to go in this window! If we’re adding experience, they’d need to be Championship level for me.
  21. Really? Imagine you’re a manger that’s hardly done anything for years. Then, after a great first full season in charge, with your own squad, owners that are ready to spend again, and an adoring crowd, you’re asking to move on? Really? For anyone who says Mowbray won’t have any money- I disagree completely. Every manager under Venky’s has had money to spend.
  22. Edit! Just seen the article date!
  23. I’ve never got why season/ match ticket prices aren’t related to people’s income. Prices around Ewood could work something like this: £100-£15000+ above after tax £150-£17000+ after tax £200- £19000+ after tax £250- £21000+ after tax £300- £23000+ after tax £350 (max price)-£25000+ after tax I’m no cost of living expert, but surely it’s better taking into account people’s financial circumstance in a poor area like Blackburn with Darwen, than just charging like we currently do?
  24. Short won’t put anymore money into that club. The money that’s been spent trying to ensure Premier League survival has hit his pocket big time apparently, hence the lack of spending this season. He’s even said he’d let the club go for free, providing it goes to right person. Listening to Coleman’s press conference 5’s goal highlights, it sounds like he knows what the issues are. Whether he’ll get time to sort them out is another matter.
