I think that’s then gone this time. Swansea have a board intent on asset stripping the club. Apparently one of their Yank owners has taken money out of the club, to build a stadium back home, for another club he’s involved in.

I think it’s an absolute disgrace that he’s still at the club. The fact that he came back completely out of shape, meant the club had to waste resources- which could have been deployed elsewhere, such as the youth team- to make sure he was fit. He should have been sacked on return.

Leeds are close to singing Bamford for around £7 million. That’s a not a bad price, considering what some players are moving for! -
Ah yes! The one they couldn’t even bothered the find a sponsor for....
-
Just been having a look on Twitter- apparently they’ve got too many players in the position he plays, hence the reason for them not re-signing.
-
You forgot the Dingle balls up in Scotland- it’s been excellent! Surely he’s going? Even if it’s not permanent, he’ll be at some lower league side, having his rather large head deflated.
-
And that’s the way it should be done.... I would think there’s more lined up too. Alan bloody Nixon ???

Why is anyone still listening to Nixon? He knows that little, the club took the piss out of him the last time we signed someone.
-
Bang on-most of them are looking at players who are: (a) injury prone, (b) wanting one last pay off or (c) have an appalling attitude and should probably be in jail. I’m half expecting Nile Ranger and Ravel Morrison to turn up at either Wigan or Bolton, in the coming week. Darren Gibson’s managed it after all. Trust me, this hasn’t been the best summer so far, but I still think we’re in a far better position than some clubs. Looking back, this has probably been one of Venky’s better summer periods, after disasters from previous years!

Preston have lost Cunningham and still haven’t really replaced Huggil. I think they’ll struggle this year. I’d be furious if I supported that lot- all that money from West Ham and they’re still signing people for next to nothing.
-
Even if they did have money, the financial rules governing the league currently would stop us from buying every Tom, Dick and Harry. I’m disappointed with how the current summer transfer situation is, but I still think we’ll bring someone in before next weekend, maybe more. Even if we don’t, I still think there’s 3 worse teams in this league than us. Bolton, Rotherham, QPR, Birmingham, Reading, Hull and Ipswich all come to mind when I think of crap squads. There’s plenty of other teams without world beaters too, like Swansea and Preston. To cheer you all up, have a look at some of the other club’s signings. I reckon Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea, Preston, Ipswich and QPR have all had transfer period worse than us.... https://www.transfermarkt.com/championship/transfers/wettbewerb/GB2

I find this incredibly hard to believe, especially with his comment about agents running the market, not too long ago. Not only that, he talked about having a substantial budget to compete at the start of summer. Surely if you were in his position, you’d take the money and play the market cautiously, and if there was any money left, you’d hand it back to the owners? If those comments are true, Mowbray- after years of management failure- is playing with his own future. On the the flip side of the coin, we might finally see some of the youth players getting a game. After all, we can’t keep doing a Chelsea. It makes absolutely no financial sense.
-
You’ve got to remember that the prices clubs are paying are normal though. A couple of million for a second tier player is the going rate these days. A couple of hundred thousand- which is what we’re trying to get players at- is laughable. Isn’t a it frustrating that Venky’s most successful appointment is getting the least amount of transfer funding, out of all the absolute dross they’ve put in charge? It makes me wonder how much Venky’s promised when they went over there? I do wonder though if Venky’s have put the cash up, but Waggot’s refusing to sign them due to the wages, because of fears of financial fair play breathing down the club’s neck again.
-
Gibson won’t have step foot inside Ewood with his drink-drive history. Mowbray wouldn’t touch him, whereas Paul Cook... It appears hasbeens are now the way forward, for clubs that have no money. I think I’d stick with the two young lads we’ve got, than signing what Wigan and Bolton are looking at!

I know this sounds daft, but do we really need a load of money going out on executives, each month, when we’re struggling to attract players because of financial matters? -

It makes you wonder why the FA haven’t changed the laws around youth players, with how poorly they manage their youth set up. However, I’m starting to wonder why we bother with ours, after the announcement to move Scott Wharton out again. -
