  1. Excellent football by Fulham in the first half, whilst the second they showed how good they were defensively, after they’d gone down to 10. Has anyone ever seen so many Fulham fans though?
  2. A centre back is the least of our worries, in my eyes. A striker and some wingers are the bigger priority in my eyes!
  3. Fulham looking the better team, although Grealish looks a tricky customer, when he gets the ball for Villa. Villa have got a very expensive squad playing- would they have to sell if they didn’t go up? This is their second season down after all...
  4. It’s the truth though- funded us, albeit because of their mistakes. Venky’s must have had to spend money- the club wouldn’t be in existence otherwise. Someone must have the income and outgoings to hand, since their disaster of a reign started?
  5. Venky’s have always made money available. Look at when Bowyer he was in charge- he was still given some money to spend after all that money Kean had blown. Lambert- loads of loans and the odd signing. Even last season, Mowbray got money to spend. Talk about sales all you want, but in the grand scheme of things Venky’s have put money into the club.
  6. Someone like that is likely to come to increase their pension pot too.. Young and hungry is the way to go in this window! If we’re adding experience, they’d need to be Championship level for me.
  7. Really? Imagine you’re a manger that’s hardly done anything for years. Then, after a great first full season in charge, with your own squad, owners that are ready to spend again, and an adoring crowd, you’re asking to move on? Really? For anyone who says Mowbray won’t have any money- I disagree completely. Every manager under Venky’s has had money to spend.
  8. I’ve never got why season/ match ticket prices aren’t related to people’s income. Prices around Ewood could work something like this: £100-£15000+ above after tax £150-£17000+ after tax £200- £19000+ after tax £250- £21000+ after tax £300- £23000+ after tax £350 (max price)-£25000+ after tax I’m no cost of living expert, but surely it’s better taking into account people’s financial circumstance in a poor area like Blackburn with Darwen, than just charging like we currently do?
  9. Short won’t put anymore money into that club. The money that’s been spent trying to ensure Premier League survival has hit his pocket big time apparently, hence the lack of spending this season. He’s even said he’d let the club go for free, providing it goes to right person. Listening to Coleman’s press conference 5’s goal highlights, it sounds like he knows what the issues are. Whether he’ll get time to sort them out is another matter.
  10. I believe Norwich are going to have to get rid of their big earners in summer, all because of their failure to return to the Premier League. The chances are, their manager will be gone too- they’ve massively underachieved in their own eyes. Therefore, if the Dack story is true, their current manager is unlikely to be around long enough to put in an offer. If he stays, I cant see them paying out £6-£7 million for Dack, like we did for Rhodes are those years back.
  11. As someone works over in Accrington, I can honestly say the town centre is depressed, and short of any real decent shops. The majority of people who use the place frequently are therefore very short on disposable income, I would assume. We have to be honest with ourselves- are people who use Accrington town centre frequently going to able to afford a ticket/ tickets ? I’d be very doubtful! The best way to get back into the Accrington area would be through going into schools, through coaching and free school tickets. Having said that, the best way to get back into Accrington and other areas would be through getting back into the Premier League.
  12. I’m wondering about this. He’s like that lad Souness signed at Southampton with how lost he looks. I still can’t get over Raya throwing it out to him today, and he wasn’t even looking ?
  13. They won again yesterday, and the gap between themselves and 4th is now 8 points. Barring some disaster, they’ll be in League 1 next season. I was referring to population of both towns.
  14. Surely it’s Fleetwood? I’m all for their success, but playing the same league against them would be something else. It’s been bad enough playing again Fleetwood! We have to go up this season.
  15. Looking long term, I don’t think he’ll go back now. Pulis will want 6 foot monsters in the side.
  16. Samuel had one of his better games yesterday. I must admit though, he’s lazy a lot of the time, in comparison to someone like Graham. I can’t believe he’s ever played top flight football though- he’s looked nothing like that recently!
  17. On the subject of atmosphere, there needs to be an improvement to the entrance music, and how the stadium speaker announces the teams’ entering the pitch. Bradford’s tannoy announcer was fantastic earlier on in the season- it really got the home fans ‘up for it’. He sounded more like a fan, rather than someone there, because it’s £9 an hour. Their music was far more dramatic too, than the rubbish we play...
  18. I’m quite looking forward to seeing him with more game time. He looked very quick when he came on, despite the fact he wasn’t on for very long. He reminds me of Chapman in a way, for his pace.
  19. The club threw in the Bournemouth game if I remember rightly, when played them a few years back. We lost and the stadium was empty for the game against the Cherries.
  20. I thought it was too! We played very well last night though, after a shaky start. As soon as their equaliser went in, I did wonder whether a repeat of Southend was on the cards, but after we got our noses back in front, we were a joy to watch and should have scored far more than we did. We were a lot more physical last night too, which shows we've learnt from Saturday. Looking at those who caught my eye last night: Caddis- excellent going forward, providing a real threat down the wing and solid defensively. He needs to start on Saturday. Raya- excellent saves again, before our second went on. If he sorts his kicking out, he'll go in January for big money. Ward- clumsy again and probably would have been moved on now if the options had been there, in the window. Chapman- looks dangerous with the pace he's got, which many backlines in League 1 will struggle with. He's another who needs to start. Gladwin- looks good technically, and didn't mind getting stuck in when he came on. He might be a better player than Evans, but it's hard to judge based on 2 games. Overall- well worth the money I spent going down there, and well done Tony Mowbray for picking a strong 11. He obviously recognises the need for them to have the match time together, in order the jel. I just hope we can transfer the majority of that performance to our first home game, on Saturday.
  21. Be honest, who did everyone really expect? I'm just glad that Coyle's gone. He's in a difficult position, and I get the feeling that with the 18 month deal, they sense that relegation is more than likely, hence why he's got next season too. He's got my support though- I just hope he can sign some players. As as I feel slightly optimistic, I can see myself buying a ticket when I get paid now. #COYB Tony Mowbray's Blue and White Army!
  22. Back on topic, I think it looks a right mess. I can't imagine anyone sat further back in the Riverside will be pleased either, as they wont be able to see the game. I agree I mentioned this a while back but I don't think anyone took much notice.
  23. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. I'm not usually a big film person, but I enjoyed this a lot. The film is set during the 'Cold War' era, with secret service agents from the U.S. and U.S.S.R., being forced to work together by their organisations. They are attempting to stop a nuclear bomb from being set off. As you could probably guess, there are many moments during the film, in which the two agents clash over how best to deal with a problem. It's quite light hearted too.... Well worth a watch if you get chance!
