  1. Amoruso- I don’t think I’ve seen a slower defender. Jayson Leutwiler is probably the worst keeper I’ve seen playing for us, but I’m too young to remember Alan Fettis, which a chap at work has mentioned! He’s coaching in Man Utd’s set-up now though, according to Wikipedia.... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Fettis My all time top crap player though is Etuhu. The bloke was an absolute waste of space. Those mentioned above might have been crap, but at least they tried!
  2. We have progressed though. Try and downgrade it as much as you want, we’ve done better than last year.
  3. I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, we need a proper keeping coach. The bloke we’ve got has never even played the game professionally. Walton’s a good keeper but he won’t progress with who’s training him.
  4. Stay- the lowest we can finish in the top half the table, which is better than last year’s finish of 15th. Whatever you say, that’s progress. The best case scenario? 8th. I think we have the right to expect a top 6 finish next season though, unless we have a bad summer window.
  5. Has the sound just disappeared on anyone else’s? Edit- we are back!
  6. Fowler was ridiculously unfit when he arrived, and well past it. From that era, Amoruso was bloody awful too- never seen such a slow defender! Looking to more recent times, Paul Taylor, Paul Caddis, Chris Brown and Wes Brown anyone? Lots of shouts for Fettis, but I would strongly argue Leutwiler is the worst keeper I’ve ever seen between our sticks. Then again, I’m too young to remember Fettis!
  7. Whilst I agree with FFP being unfair, I couldn’t disagree more about clubs not being bailed out- look at all of League 2 and 1, bar a few cases, there is absolutely no one going to come in and throw money at those clubs because it makes absolutely no financial sense. There could well be some fan owners be willing to chuck money like it’s no object, but you’re not seriously suggesting 71 millionaires/ billionaires, who each support a different club, in The Football League are you? There wasn’t before FFP was introduced and with the current impending economic crisis, if FFP was scrapped, there sure won’t be now. This is serious- clubs outside the top flight are in trouble if this season isn’t finished.
  8. I can’t see this happening. My understanding is he drives to and from his family home everyday. Add to the fact he’s already managed up there and has- at this moment- an outside chance of managing in the top flight with us next year, surely it’s no go. Mowbray has a lot to thank us for too- his managerial career was pretty much finished until we took him on. I remember my Bolton mate laughing his head off, when he took over from Coyle...
  9. Interesting tweets (more available if clicked on) about PNE’s finances. They owe Trevor Hemmings a total of £47 million.
  10. Unreal the position we’re in considering the list injuries we have. Mowbray has been forced to stop mixing the team up though because of it, so maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. Next week’s the big one. If we win, I’ll start getting excited.
  11. Yes but needs to work with a decent goalkeeping coach, who’s played the game.
  12. What do you expect with all the injuries? Our budget isn’t exactly massive if you compare it to others too. Opted for the radio and the fire tonight after a long day at work, rather than freezing at Ewood- we sound well on top, but unable to convert a chance.
  13. No, and nor was I expecting us to this year. Before the season started, I’d have happily taken a top half finish this year, and I stand by that.
  14. Tell them to get rid of the bloody goal music, and put the away fans back downstairs. Both have killed off an atmosphere which had improved.
  15. Completely disagree- they’re insignificant to us because of the hatred we have towards Burnley. The 6 fingered lot are the only rivals for me. A couple of decent seasons this decade is nothing over time, and the support we have in west Lancashire tells you that. Preston spent years floating around Division 3 and 4, whilst we were playing our football at the top level.
  16. I can’t see it making a blind but if difference with the keeping coach we’ve got.
  17. Couldn’t agree more- he should be nowhere near the club. Just look at the mistake below. I’ll be blunt though- Walton is just as bad for mistakes. The question is- why haven’t we got a proper, experienced ex-professional goalkeeping the coach? It’s simply unacceptable in my eyes.
  18. Millwall 3-1 Luton Mahoney’s just scored a cracker and then assisted the third, with an absolutely beauty of a cross. They look like the dark horses for the play offs to me.
  19. My thoughts exactly last night. However, when you look who’s around us: Sheff Weds- bang average from the games I’ve seen on Sky, and were nothing special when at Ewood. Preston- didn’t turn up for 45 minutes against us. Brentford- did very little until the last 10 minutes at Ewood. Bristol City- bang average against us, from what I heard on Radio Lancs. Notts Forest- nothing special, and didn’t get out their own half, in the second half, at Ewood Swansea- probably the best side we’ve played, out of this list? They sounded well on top on Radio Lancs, but didn’t win. The top 6 is there for the taking this year.
  20. Sorry, but that is absolute dross. To start with, say that Elliott Bennett should have been in the starting 11 tonight is utterly ridiculous- the man is a complete and utter liability. Then, to suggest Danny Graham’s legs have gone, despite the fact there’s been a massive improvement in results, since his return to the starting 11, is nothing short of laughable. So, to summarise, you want to take our most physical player out- Danny Graham- because his legs have gone. Then, you want to bring in Elliott Bennett who is apparently physical, despite the fact- from what I’ve seen in every game this season- his legs have gone. Elliott Bennett over Bradley Dack? Sam Gallagher over Danny Graham (I’m guessing?), despite the fact he can’t hold a ball up? ... and to top it all off, I’m guessing Richie Smallwood over Adam Armstrong, because he gets stuck in? What have I just read?! ?
  21. Well that was bloody awful. That first half was such a half arsed display, it was unreal. Thousands of fans returning to Ewood for the first time since the Oxford game, and what did we do? We didn’t turn up until after half time. The ref was absolutely awful too- he killed any tempo due to his love affair with the sound of his own whistle. The fact he put his foot on the ball to stop us pumping it forward, in injury time, summed him up. I can’t ever remember an official doing that. On the flip side of the coin, we’d have probably lost that a few months back- Charlton and Luton spring to mind. The Brum game will be far tougher though. A game that should be winnable will be hard going, due to the longer rest period they’ve had.
  22. Word of warning..... The turnstiles aren’t reading season tickets chaps- I’ve Just had to queue up for a paper one, to get in.
  23. I think the Brum game will be tough. They’ll have had a few more days off, so will be fresher. When I think about it, I’m quite annoyed about how we’ve been shifted to Monday.
  24. 1-0 Sheff Weds- probably just deserved.
  25. Both are trying their absolute best here to ensure it’s a draw..
