The coiner of the much-quoted phrase was in fact White Hart Lane legend Bill Nicholson in his days as manager at the club, - and not Bill Shankly.
Shankly's wordy take on the situation was in fact "If a player is not interfering with play or seeking to gain an advantage, then he should be." Which is completely different.
Rubbish, Liverpool are the better team so far.
We haven't had a single shot anywhere near goal, passed the ball more times to a red shirt than a blue and white one.
The goal was a con, but to be fair we haven't turned up yet.
Can't believe there are posters on here who think we can get into the Champions League, we have no chance at all.
Our best result this season will be 6th and UEFA, and that in itself will be a terrific result for our little club.
Well done Accy (hardly surprising given the number of bloody scousers at the club these days
Must have been a sign ever since that kid drank his glass of milk !
I can see him now sitting in a deserted Ewood park, bobble hat on, Bovril in hand, then posting on the 'Old Gate Debate' thread.
Today's turn out was the worse I've ever seen .....
Absolutely, ban swearing aswell. At the West Brom game I'm sure I heard the F word four times.
No wonder the gates are dropping, those plastic seats are so uncomfortable.
Time for a fun game of twister ?
