  1. yep Ooijer is really getting there..our back four seems to have developed a very good understanding between each other. tbh, it wasn't easy for Ooijer when he first came to Rovers. Playing for a new team, and in a new back 4 line up which was new to Emerton, Zurab and Neill as well.
  2. Nonda was begging for a chance before each penalty, so it seems like Hughesy haven't decided who's the regular penalty taker... I reckon McCarthy, Gamst or Savage. Maybe Bentley? don't think Reidy is a option since his penalties will probably go straight through the net, so there will be a security issue for the crowd behind the goal the FA have probably banned him from penalties:P Pleasure: You claims that Gamst is the designated pen taker? How do you know that?
  3. as far as I know it takes a week for the ban to start? if not I've made a fool of myself
  4. well I'm willing to bet you he won't play on sunday!! are you bold enough to bet against me? I'm thinking of a fair amount of money here..
  5. 1. Friedel - Neill - Bentley, Tugay - Benni 2. Best: Emerton Worst: don't know, Pedersen seems to be struggling atm, Ooijer did struggle a few weeks back.. 3. Finally found a back 4 that is working well together. Savage and Tugay is on top of their game atm in the centre of the park. Other players who are vital atm is Benni and Bentley 4. Seems to very calm, he doesn't tell his players of to the press. Whats supposed to be in the dressing room, stays there. Fantastic man management. Weaknesses: Don't know really, but I sometimes thinks he makes his substitutions a bit too late. 5. Think it is Benni and Roberts, although Benni and Nonda have worked well together in the absence of Roberts.
  6. I think we should aim to win all our games, but we definately have to rest some of our first team players for this game. I think quite a few players looked very tired against Bolton.. Here's my team for wednesday. Friedel Emerton - Ooijer - Zurab - Neill Gallagher - Mokoena - Tugay - Peter Roberts - Jeffers Savage was a doubt before the notlob match and looked tired before he was replaced by Mokoena. Tugay should also be rested but then we might have to play Gally in centre, Emerton on right wing, Neill on right back and Gray on left back... although its highly unlikely that Hughesy will do so many changes I expect a few of them. He has said so many times that he will have to use his squad this season, and on wednesday its time to rest some players.. btw Gamst is NOT rested, but axed from the team
  7. I think the drumming yesterday was awful for most of the game, and I'm starting to get very annoyed by them...I'm so glad I'm sitting in row 22 and not in row 2 behind the drummers, that must be well annoying!
  8. agree with you Tris. this was absolutely disgraceful..I turned around and had a go at some older guys sitting behind us at the bar you mentioned for singing the we hate pakis chant, and I don't think I can possibly post what that idiot replied to me without getting banned from brfcs. what a tosser I see a lot of these people on away games and it was the younger guys who kicked it off, but several of the older generation joined in as well...
  9. not sure mate, we could play Bentley or Gallagher in that role..and they are young and talented, Ronaldinho is getting old and is a bit overrated
  10. Reidy have this morning been at the hospital for his scan, so we probably can't trust what the tabloids claimed yesterday.. hopefully the results is not too bad
  11. I must admit that I want Rovers to play Burnley before I'm finished at Uni summer 08, would be great to experience a match against our arch rivals!! although preferably in the cup, cos we don't want them to be a premiership team do we
  12. Last year we gave a lot of stick to Cisse, and he scored...I fear the same will happend with Bellamy this year..
  13. oh no!!! Is Todd back from injury? if so he can play with Zurab with Ooijer on the right back..and the legendary Mickey 'Blue eye' Gray on the left...
  14. I've been told that he is not back in training yet
  15. I think Benni should take the penalties, although we will never get a pen against liverpool... just heard today that Reidy is still not back in training
  16. mine would be... Matt Jansen - bags of talents, a shame that all went wrong for him when things looked so bright.. Tugay - a legend! his skills on the ball is very rare, and Ewood have the pleasure to see him play every other week! wish he was 10 years younger!! David Dunn - lots of talents again, but didn't seem to get his priorites right.. Andy Cole - a top goalscorer! although his career might have been pointing downwards when he played at Rovers, he still did a excellent job for us. A shame that Souness forced him out Brad Friedel - we're fortunate to have one of the best goalkeepers in the business!
  17. I've just read on clubcall that Alan Pardew reckon he can sign Neill in january dream on pal, or should I say: clubcall, stop writing bullsh1t
  18. sorry mate, I won't support your ovation to bellamy...he played well for us and I don't blame him for wanting to play for his favourite club, but can't possible give him an ovation after the way he left and all the lies...
  19. Liverpool 0-0 Rovers Bellamy off injured with a broken leg after Lucas Neill, with a nasty(/tasty) tackle, decided to show the Rovers fans that he still is passionate about playing for Rovers. btw: Neill sent off, he will be very upset and not understand why he got the red card. And who can blame him? he just finished off Bellamy.
  20. to drop Neill from the 1st team is ridiculously thing to do, he his one of our best defenders and is playing well atm...the decision have to be whether he should be captain or not! before todays comments I would say yes, but right now I'm not that sure anymore...
  21. I'm very dissapointed with Lucas' comments today, there was no need to state that he wants out...But I still belive he's professional enough to do the job on the pitch for Rovers this season, Hughes won't let him go in january. He's one of the best defenders in the premiership, and definately on of our best players atm! I've always defended him being made captain, but I'm not sure if I will defend that decision anymore after todays comments...
  22. I've just booked the morning flight from Birmingham to amsterdam the 23rd, with a return the next morning at 9.40am... just £42 with bmibaby
  23. my fear is whether I can afford it or not...
