  1. Great article, always had a lot of time for Mokoena, even more so after reading that. I hope he ends the summer with a respectale World Cup campaign and an FA cup winners medal
  2. I have the flyer here so being the helpful sort of chap I am: Stuffed garlic mushrooms Garlic pizza tomato spicy mussels mexicana BBQ spare ribs Cheesy potato skins Homemade pate & toast Spicy tomato pasta spicy meat risotto creamy garlic mussels garlic pizza creamy garlic potatoes italian sausage, peppers and sweet chilli sauce BBQ potatoes marinated black olives Red snapper on wilted spinach tangy chciken wings baked veg in a spicy tomato sauce stuffed peppers garlic pizza and mozzerella garlic and rosemary chicken meatballs in salsa french fries black pudding with dijon mayo prawns in garic butter onion rings caeser salad Tuscan bread So its a bit of an odd bag of choices, the misses said the two of them got told to order 4 dishers between them at a time and they could get as much as wanted for thr £15. The 3 course for £15 is apparently all day on sunday as well, I think I'll try that one Sunday. I agree they should have a website its a poor do that. Hughesy, any recommendations from the Mangiamos menu?
  3. last time I went a couple of monhs ago it was decent mate, a lot of people rave about the villa at clitheroe but I wasn't overly impressed
  4. It's still got the same name Hughesy, still called Franco's. A few years ago the best in my opinion was Quattro's at Samlesbury, I havn't been since it changed it's name to Nuraghes or whatever it is now. We are going to Mangiamo's at Darwen with some friends on Tuesday night and tonight the wife went to Parmesan and Pepper at Abbey Village as they do a sort of Italian Tapas menu, £15 each as much as you can eat on a Thursday or a 3 course meal for a tenner on Friday nights with a fair selection as well (if you wanted it I'll type it out as it isn't on line). Edit: Bugger it I'll type it up anyway in case anyone else fancies trying it, I'm going to at some stage; Stuffed Garlic Mushrooms topped with cheese Soup of the Day Garlic bread choose either plain, cheese or tomato Cheesy potato skins homemade chicken liver pate with galic toast black pudding on mash with creamy peppercorn sauce -------------------------- Mexican chicken - chicken breast in a spicy tomato sauce with onions, chilli and garlic Fillet of Salmon coated in a light creamy pink prawn sauce Any pizza or pasta Swordfish Steak in a garlic butter sauce Chicken Pepe - chicken breast in a creamy peppercorn sauce --------------- Chefs selection of todays puddings
  5. Mangiamo's is next on the list of Italians to try, heard some mixed things about it but will give it a pop Another shout out for the Black Horse at Pimlico, best chips around. On the subject of chips I had a Clayton street yesterday lunch, still good but nowhere near as good as they used to be
  6. sorry for the lack of response it was actually nice, We all had pasta which for £3.95 on the night was really nice. Good garli breads as well. There's better Italians around but for the price we'll be going again. I think it's Monday and Tuesday nights any pizza or pasta £3.95
  7. Trying Gino's (formerly Tiggis) tonight, will report back but I'm not expecting too much
  8. Downloaded a film called The Collector, really enjoyed it, almost like a grown up grusome home alone
  9. By the way KFC in Accy is also Halal now as well
  10. Can I just point out that I was against the fact I couldn't get what I went in for, purely selfish motives I'll still go
  11. No Lee Makel - no deal Why don't Rovers still kick balls into the crowd when they come out I used to like that
  12. This was at KFC near the hospital not sure about the others
  13. Maybe not the right place for this but I see no other eaterie threads, I popped into KFC in Blackburn today as I fancied one of those new spicy boxmasters, I was disappointed when I found out they weren't doing them and was downright p1ssed off when I found out its because it contains bacon and last week the store went Halal only. Fair enough have the option for Halal but it doesn't seem fair that I have to miss out Just to rub it in a few hundred yards down the road I see a big advertisment for the new boxmaster
  14. Watched The Box last night, film started OK but got far too silly after a while. Midweek we watched The Stepfather which is a remake of an older film, decent but somewhat cliched thriller. Last week saw Princess and the Frog last week which was awesome but obviously not for everyone
  15. I remember once maybe 10 years ago there was a minutes silence for someone I can't recall and we were playing Leeds, the Leeds fans started a 'One Don Revie' chant and the Rovers fans stayed remarkably calm until after the whistle was blown.
  16. Yeah it was a shame someone had to ruin it especially with what looked like his family next to the pitch The chant was a nice touch but I didn't join in, I didn't know the lad nor the circumstances around his death I wouldn't feel right if I joined in.
  17. I wonder if we'll see an increased police presence on the concourses tonight due to the incidents on Saturday
  18. I dodn't know Rob Roy was an actor Princess and the Frog is now out and I'm looking forward to it, love old school disney animation, also got Up Blu ray on pre order.
  19. Bioshock 2 came today, loving it so far. Rapture is one of the greatest game locations of all time for me. Would love a good film based there
  20. As Mellison said, the jist of what the sun saying was the common conception by most (including myself), if this wasn't Rovers related and some other team I imagine people on here would come to conclusions about what happened in a similar way to that of which the Sun did. It is a sham of a paper though but we knew that anyway. I may get attacked for this as I wasn't there but there is blame to be placed on some of our own fans somewhere down the line as no matter how it's protested or portrayed, throwing bottles and a bin is more than fans just messing around and is a recipe for disaster.
  21. Indeed as I said I think there should be a minutes silence but the 2 minutes silence should be reserved for the likes of Uncle Jack or the war dead.
  22. A minutes silence on Wednesday would be apt, anything else maybe too much. Not trying to sound heartless but where does it then stop? I hope his family is coping through these horrible times, I suppose his son wont fully understand where his dad is and how he wont be coming back. Horrible.
  23. come off it mate this is of no fault of stoke city at all and solely the fault of a group of rovers fans, it probably seemed like fun to them nut has ended trafically sad that he's lost his life but that's nothing compared to the fact q kid has lost his dad in stupid stupid circumstances
  24. Not to speak ill of someone in a grave condition but for all we know he was one of the numpties involved in the bin throwing so it would be wrong to assume anything right now. Either way I really hope he pulls through nobody should lose thier life in such idiotic circumstances and rob a family of their son/brother, maybe even father and husband.
  25. Nice from the Stoke fans, shows the few comments I read earlier were just a bad selection from their lot. Hope its not true about the life support
