  1. Just said to my son 10 minutes ago how the referee was having a shocker. That sending off there has just validated that - terrible decision.
  2. I'm really struggling with the point you are trying to make here. Sign Bauer cheaply, stay up, spend time in the play offs, borrow Tosin, spend roughly the same, stay up, briefly threaten the play offs but stay up regardless. Only with the former we'd have an asset, possibly a profitable one and there'd be less of a panic to plug a glaring hole. And that's before your subjective view that he's a better defender. Tosin is definitely a better 'footballer', not sure he's a better 'defender'.
  3. Captain Mowbray came 3rd at Cartmel earlier. Outpaced early on, made mistakes, not fluent 4 out and plugged on gamely without ever threatening.
  4. Looks like the 'abilities' of Del Williams are being overlooked, priming him as Lenihan's partner for the season with Carter and Wharton in reserve. You just know it's gonna happen.
  5. You basically said what we've all said - that he played well pre lockdown and poor post lockdown. Then you said we'd have to see how he performs 'next' season!! So, go on, form an opinion on whether we should give him a deal rather than waiting to agree with whatever the club decides.
  6. Like the brilliant Gary Delaney says, the word 'legend' is now demeaned to the point of returning home unexpectedly with crisps.
  7. Agreed on Downing. He has undoubted quality but on the rare occasions we look decent is when we move the ball quickly through midfield and Downing always seems to take that extra touch.
  8. Redrow's on the right as you drive to Barrow? Done plenty tyre kicking there.
  9. I don't know why I go on the Rovers FB pages. Just read a post saying 'our beloved Tony Mowbray'. Now I understand there are differing views on his competency in the role but that's giving him almost God-like status - and for what? Stability?
  10. That's triggered him, he'll actually have to go to them now.
  11. 3 year deal for Lowe, blimey, the class of 92 are going to be mightily pissed off when they realise what they've got for their money - the antithesis of the open attacking football they were once a part of. Anyone got the infamous Brentford clip where he bursts from midfield with intent but freezes and runs the ball out of play?
  12. So you flatly wouldn't take Dyche, who is the sole reason Burnley are successful but you're asking opinion on Hart who couldn't get a game for them?
  13. Game, shot AND the match to MarkBRFC
  14. I don't think we have any players that will be poached by Premier League teams, I'd be wary of the bigger Championship clubs though. I don't rate Armstrong as highly as some but he has improved markedly over the 2nd half of the season, there will be clubs interested in him. Lenihan is young but now experienced at this level, I'd be surprised if he's not courted and Nyambe's physicality could lead to a cheeky bid. I think Travis still has a lot to learn and his passing can be shocking on occasions, however, his attitude and will to win are spot on. I just hope he continues to progress here next season. As for incomings, well we'll be bringing in 5 or 6 Europeans won't we?
  15. Got to admit I couldn't see much in Buckley when he first got into the team. However, the more I see the more he impresses me. Comfortable in possession, always looking forward, finds good space and always has his head up. The lad really has a chance if he gets game time next year and stays clear of injury.
  16. So Walton shouldn't play then
  17. Get in Gallagher, a proper brave header that.
  18. Holtby our stand out for me. Always on the half turn and looking to hit feet quickly. Injuries permitting the team needs to be built around him next season.
  19. I was optimistic on Brereton and thought it was a real statement of intent. I was very disappointed we signed Gallagher for what we did and said so on here.
  20. You not seen The Damned United Amo? You should, Michael Sheen is bloody brilliant in it as Cloughie.
  21. Yes it's a figure he's made up to help him actually make the point he was arguing against.
  22. Where did you pull 6 million from? No way they are paying him over 100k a week, it'll be less than half of that.
  23. Blimey Gav, you can't on the one hand say we need to wee with the willy we've got and then describe 9 million net spend wasted as 'chump change'.
  24. Brentford are actually 8 million in profit on transfers in and out yet have managed to improve year on year. Good recruitment and good coaching/management not only works on the field it makes sound business sense too.
  25. I really don't know where to start with that so I'm leaving it to someone else to find the words. I'm almost speechless.
