'The transition' is another one. What a load of crap.
-
Totally agree. A big strong boy and athletic but he's lacking in football ability for me and needs to improve a hell of a lot.
-
What a goal that is.
-
Beast of a header from Lenihan. More goals in this one with the state of both keepers.
-
Great finish but what the hell is Walton doing there?

Mowbray: Stay or Go - A Poll
LDRover replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Having read Crimpshrine's excellent post and seeing you had quoted it I knew, without seeing your response, you'd only focus on him boycotting. The only input you add to this forum is staunch defence of Mowbray (nothing wrong with that) and criticism of supporters who do not 'support' in your eyes while watching on from afar. Strange. -
Mowbray: Stay or Go - A Poll
LDRover replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
How many on here even named Mowbray as a potential candidate when Coyle was on his way out? I'd say probably none and if he had been it would have, quite rightly, been ridiculed based on his previous recent record. That's why the retort of who would you choose to replace him is such a weary argument. -
I must admit I'm warming to the possibility of Ainsworth as a potential Rovers manager. He's done a remarkable job at Wycombe with no money and the way they despatched Fleetwood the other night was very impressive. His players certainly put the effort in for him and although the style of play isn't pretty, it's effective. I don't think there's any doubt that he'd come either, I think we could do much worse.
-
All valid points Pete but I'll bet you had more questions over Mowbray when he was appointed.
-
So then, realistic candidates to replace him? Hughton, Hughes, Karanka, Keane (sorry DE but he'd crack a few heads), Ainsworth, Robins, McCarthy, Monk and even Strachan. Mowbray's time is up, we need a change. And soon.
-
I'd label him a 15 minute player. Looks a level above in parts of games and then the next time you notice him is he's being subbed off.
-
Getting pasted here. Men against boys. At least Mowbray is showing the raw passion on the sidelines....
-
That's arguably 5 goals Walton has been to blame for since the season restarted.
-
Didn't realise we're one win in seven? Another one of Mowbray's woeful runs. Edit - Ffs Gallagher. Shocking, no excuse there. Terrible player.

BRFC - The Nostalgia Thread

Still one of my favourite games that. The other thing to note is the quality in that division that season. Off the top of my head I can name, McAllister, Newell, Pallister, Earl Barrett, Stuart McCall, David Platt, Alan McInally, Teddy Sheringham, Tony Cascarino, John Sheridan, Denis Irwin all who were playing in that league that season. The quality level is incomparable to now yet we've been conditioned into thinking we're punching above our weight. It certainly didn't stop us back then when we didn't have a pot to piss in. -
Yep, fuck him, same with Moyes and the rest of the shithouses who crawled out of the woodwork. What happened in that darkest of dark times should NEVER be forgotten.
-
There's some right bellends on there. Sum total of their argument is to ridicule anyone who dare question Mowbray, repeat the dumbing down of us as a club and then ask for alternatives - which then also get ridiculed.
-
That, for me, is the most damning aspect of Mowbray's tenure. You can't label us with any style of play we can hang our hats on. Apart from shite of course.
-
Problem is that, rather than it being a stick to beat him with, the 12 million wasted on 2 appalling 'strikers' has actually made his position stronger as they've took us to FFP limits. Meaning the job is a fire fighting one with no funds for any prospective candidates, therefore no credible alternatives, better the devil you know etc and down and down we go. And the fucker has his own flag....
-
The bloke is bomb proof and he will take us down next season.
-
This boy Samuel is stealing a living. What a bad un.
-
To play Bennett after his utterly abysmal showing on Saturday cannot be defended. And I'd have played a youngster rather than Walton - a good, strong manager would've sent out a message tonight - safe to say we haven't got one.

Championship season 2019-20
LDRover replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Without a doubt. Amassed more points than any other team since January, Rooney getting fitter and more influential by the game and the boy Sibley an absolute monster talent. They're going to take some stopping from here on in. -

By what logic were we going to concede anyway? The only reason we conceded and lost the game is down to a huge error from Walton. That's it. We weren't under huge pressure, they weren't camped in our half, they weren't raining shots in - it was pestering out to a dull 0-0 until Walton decided otherwise. -

If Mowbray wants to send out a message he has to drop Walton, Bennett and Gallagher for the next game. I don't care if Leutwiler and the rest of the replacements are just as shite, you cannot play as those 3 did yesterday and get picked regardless.
