Great photo of our following on Saturday. The God Save The Queen and anti pope goading of the Celtic fans by that group of 17 year old, weed smoking pea brains could have caused problems for Rovers fans after the game. Plenty of Rovers fans in blue and white walking down the Gallowgate after the game, good natured banter and chatting with Celtic supporters. Just how it should be.

Regarding Gallagher, I have been very critical of him over the last couple of seasons but there is definitely a player in there somewhere. Let’s hope JDT and Co can get it fully out in the open. He took his goal well and, in the second half, had two great chances to put the ball away again. Whilst he didn’t score, at least he was on target and made the keeper work, rather than blazing it wide. If we can KEEP him and Brereton together up front, I’ll be happy enough.

It would be nice to cut Carter a bit of slack. Jota was on fire yesterday and has been a brilliant signing for Celtic, after having him on loan last season. If he continues to impress, it won’t be too long before some big clubs, and a big money transfer, come calling. Carter is a big lad and there was some decent play from him at times. Pickering, though, had a shocker and Celtic certainly targeted our left flank with Abada giving him a torrid time in the first half. The trend continued in the second half with the overlapping full back, Ralston, adding to his woes. He won’t forget that game in a hurry and we desperately need a replacement and pdq. Overall, though, I was pleased with a draw as I feared a heavy defeat before the game. Not only are Celtic a quality side, in the context of Scottish football, they are also well ahead of us in the fitness stakes as the new season approaches. Most of yesterdays starting eleven will form the nucleus of our side against QPR and they haven’t had too much more than sixty minutes against Accrington, whilst Celtic have played two Competitive games in Austria and one in the Czech Republic. A good workout and an enjoyable game.

A great start by Rovers yesterday but once Celtic got over the shock of conceding early, they got into gear and were well on top in the first period. It was to be expected, though, as this was a very strong Celtic side with really only Starfelt missing at the back where he usually partners Carter-Vickers. Dolan wasted a great opportunity to lob Joe Hart, sending his shot over the bar, but, other than the odd corner, Celtic weren’t troubled again. I thought Rovers handled Kyogo very well, limiting him to two or three half chances and keeping him off the score sheet. This lad is lightning fast and has an eye for goal, so credit to the lads at the back for that. Rovers came into the game more in the second half and Gallagher missed two good chances to add to his tally, testing Siegrist who had, by now, replaced Joe Hart. When Celtic took off more players to gradually morph into their second eleven, I sensed we would get back in the game and Brereton duly obliged to make it 2-2. Rovers also made several changes in the second period and, all in all, it was a good workout for our young lads. Second best in the first half but we certainly held our own later on. It was competitive stuff and two or three yellow cards were handed out. Special mention to the superb, sizeable, noisy Rovers support hemmed in to the corner. Never stopped singing all game. A great day out, finished off with another couple of pints in the Horseshoe Bar in the city centre. Last time in there was for the cup game in 2002.

More a history/heritage thing with the Celtic support. Second, third, fourth generation Irish folk living in Scotland choosing to follow a club founded by an Irish priest with the intentions of getting rid of the poverty, within the Irish community, in the east end of Glasgow. Can’t speak for Rangers though.

If you walk to the right (east) of the ground on the above plan, go three hundred yards down London Road to the junction with Springfield Road and there are a couple of boozers there. Turn left and walk (north) down Springfield Road, another is on the right after two or three minutes. Carry on down Springfield Road to the end, only a few minutes walk, and you come to the Gallowgate. To the left of the junction is the Fiveways Inn which is ok. A bit more to the left, down Gallowgate, is the Forge Shopping Centre where there is ample parking and the outside parking areas are free, or at least the bit I used was when I was there in April.

We have blocks 119 and 120, bottom right hand corner on attached stadium plan. Some of the seats in 120 are restricted view because of a couple of supports on the adjacent main stand to the left. Celtic season ticket holders are virtually everywhere else and the game is included in their 22-23 season ticket, so hopefully it will be a good turn out. When I tried to buy online, it was only letting me buy one ticket and only giving me the option of restricted view. I rang the ticket office and bought over the phone. Got two tickets in the unrestricted view section.

Just had to Google, ‘What Is a NFT? For anyone of my age or similar (64), don’t bother. It may as well have been written in whatever language they speak in Borneo.

Spot on Tony. We’ve been told there’s a ‘healthy’ budget but do we need to sell Brereton to fund the (non loan) acquisitions? Can we keep Brereton and still have funds to improve the team in other areas? Just watch some club come in for him at the death and leave us snookered.

Just ordered two tickets for the Celtic game. The online system was only letting me order one ticket and saying that restricted view tickets only were available. This is not the case as I phoned the ticket office and bought two unrestricted tickets together. Just so everyone knows if they struggle with the ordering process.

Celtic tickets now on sale to season ticket holders.

Celtic’s forthcoming home friendlies are included in their 2022-23 season ticket, so there should be a decent crowd on. My lad went to Rangers for the friendly 12 months or so ago and I think he said that Rovers took around a thousand, so I would expect similar at Celtic Park. For ease of segregation, I think we’ll still get the full corner, even if we most certainly won’t sell all the tickets for that area.

The away fans sections are 118, 119 and 120 (bottom right hand corner) depending on demand. The away fans last season were usually given section 119 or sections 119 and 120. I think we will get the whole corner which, from memory, is what we had in 2003.

The tickets for the Celtic game have, today, been finally put on their website. Prices start from Adults £16 with Concessions at £10 and are generally priced at these amounts, rising to £21 in some areas.

What train you on Nick? Ours is the 9.00 from Preston, gets in at 11.30 ish, so it’ll be a taxi to the ground but we can grab a pint or two after the game. You too, Andy, if you’re reading this.

I can’t see this as being correct. Where did the info come from? All friendlies still confirmed on the Celtic website and still being advertised on Celtic tv.

Celtic have had their six pre season friendlies (including the Rovers) arranged for some time and, If I remember correctly, have had some sort of bundle out to watch these on Celtic tv. I’ll be fecking pissed off, if the Rovers game is to be cancelled, because we’ve had our train tickets sorted for a couple of weeks now.
