  1. I think Jackson is a Sheff Weds supporter. To be fair, Eustace has been making that point since his arrival. I guess the chant from yesterday, (“I don’t care about Venkys”), is a bit of a compromise to draw all factions within the fan base together, but it’s a bit too tame for me.
  2. This is supposed to be the pessimism thread 😉 Stating “no chance we go down this season” is beyond optimistic.
  3. Doesn’t sound great, does it, but our heads are still above water, and at least we appear to have the stomach for a fight. To be honest, a few weeks ago I thought we’d had it. Now, I’m ever so slightly more hopeful.
  4. Negative : Still to win a game Positive : Eustace has demonstrably made us harder to beat. Still has it all to do to keep us up, but tightening things up has at least laid a foundation stone.
  5. Seriously, why don't they at least attempt to sell us? The only innocent explanation is pride, but that really isn't the likely reason.
  6. Now that is a cap that fits him perfectly. He is a classless, horrible toad who should be nowhere near the corridors of power at Blackburn Rovers.
  7. It's not an excuse, it's a fact. How was JDT doing under the same circumstances? Just as badly over a sustained period of time. I also stated the omens don't look good, but it is too early to cast judgement and to be slaughtering the guy.
  8. I know the omens aren’t great, but it’s too soon to write Eustace off as a failure. The task of keeping us up may well prove to beyond him, but it would be a struggle for any head coach under our circumstances. We are an absolute mess.
  9. I read a tweet from a supporter last week which stated we can’t expect to be in the Championship with our attendances. The meek acceptance makes you sick.
  10. I know what you mean but, purely in terms of the table, it was the best possible result I agree that it’s hard to see us getting anything on Saturday, though.
  11. It’s too early to make a judgement on Eustace, but JDT wasn’t “poor”, but very stubborn, and I do agree that he had lost interest and should’ve been relieved of his duties sooner. It would take a highly skilled operator to get a tune out of this bunch of misfits, and a troubleshooter appointment was needed to give us a chance of staying up this season. It doesn’t look as if Eustace will fit the bill, but it ain’t over until it’s over. Neither are / were “managers” and that is significant in terms of player recruitment.
  12. Wonder if the Roda JC fans thought that the season he took them down? JDT takes some responsibility, as will Eustace, but the squad is shockingly bad, and neither of them can be blamed for that. Everyone from Broughton upwards is culpable.
  13. Two wins in almost half a season's worth of games does not constitute being in deep shit? Waggott's been passing the Kool-Aid round again. Is it medication time yet?
  14. Agreed, you reap what you sow, and we are getting what we deserve for the way the club is owned and run.
  15. Yes, Boro hitting a bit of form too, so that will be very tough. The only thing in our favour is they have a midweek away trip, so for once we will be better rested.
  16. Being a Rovers supporter in the Venkys era always reminds me of a line from the theme song of "Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads". "Is the only thing to look forward to the past?"
  17. Pretty pathetic and small minded if he does. Which is why Wharton’s move was a sensible one. A smaller Premier League club, but with a realistic chance of regular game time. I still think people need to put themselves in the player’s shoes, though, when weighing up a big career decision like that. They may say otherwise, but the vast majority of people would make the same decision that Phillips did.
  18. Phillips was given the opportunity to join one of the bigger clubs in the Premier League. We are a shambles. It's not really a difficult choice.
  19. An evening with Steve Waggott, with special guests Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong un, (both of whom are likely to be more honest).
  20. 😂 I know what you mean. I probably chose the wrong way to describe him. I just meant he isn’t a cave dweller, is well dressed and well spoken. It’s probably for the best that I can’t go on Saturday, because it’s becoming an ongoing thing with him, as if what’s on the pitch isn’t bad enough.
  21. I think that guy’s attitude is typical of many who still attend (ever dwindling). He’s probably not interested in the politics, hence his take on it. Im afraid some of our supporters deserve all they get.
  22. Bloke behind me on Tuesday when the "Venkys out!" chants started when Millwall scored - "This has got nothing to do with Venkys". This is a guy who looks like he's a business man or manager, so presumably has a modicum of intelligence. Soon, the only people left in the ground (other than away fans) will be the Stockholm Syndrome mob.
  23. …….from sustaining his next injury.
