  1. I agree with these sentiments, but how do the EFL weed out the "nefarious" individuals. Ken Anderson probably passed the fit and proper person test which suggests that the problem lies with the depth of investigation carried out by the EFL. Because of the amount of money surrounding football, there will always be chancers willing to take risks, and at the end of the day, it's the fans of the clubs who suffer. Local rivalry aside, it would be a tragedy if Bolton were to be expelled-we are a club of similar size and history and the same could easily happen to us. On the issue of expungement affecting play off positions, the EFL could avoid the problem (if they chose to expel) by making the decision after the season ends, thus taking advantage of Rule 12.2.2 as quoted by Philip above. Their record would not be expunged until the play off positions had been fairly determined. Only two clubs would be relegated to L1
  2. How is Rodwell going to attain match fitness? I went to the development squad game last Friday, hoping that he might be included. The lads could have done with his experience. If it is correct that he played in one or two pre-season games for Watford, he should surely not be that far away from match fitness. Wonder if TM will arrange a behind closed doors game during the international break-that would surely be better than any amount of training? Perhaps he could be included in the next development squad fixture.
  3. If true, I can understand the lad's frustration. I was surprised he was not in the squad for Bristol-we could have done with his drive and energy in what was a rather lethargic performance by most of the players.
  4. Excellent and thought provoking article by a Forest fan on the sale of Brereton. The Forest owners seem to be banking on purchasing established players to gain promotion, rather like Derby County and Villa to a certain extent. This approach means that there is no room in the short term for youth team players to break through. The lure of Premiership millions leads to clubs gambling and possibly ignoring FFP rules. It worked for Wolves. I think Mowbray's approach is to build a side capable of pushing for promotion on solid foundations, hungry young players and team spirit. www.seatpitch.co.uk/2018/08/28/high-stakes-unpicking-the-sale-of-ben-brereton/
  5. I felt that we desperately lacked width, too often trying to pass our way through the centre of a packed defence. Without natural wingers, the full backs have to get forward and supply crosses. Bell looked to be lacking in confidence, although on the occasions he did run with the ball, he ran infield. Nyambe was outstanding but again, did not supply any crosses. We need at least one winger, or the coaching staff need to work with the full backs on their role when they get in the final third.
