Leeds (A) - Same as last year lads... kind of.

Sneaky feeling we'll win this @chaddyrovers back to an honorary MoBro. -
January transfer window 2020

For every Nzonzi there's a dozen Goulons. We won't do feck all in January. -
He spent £12m on two strikers who have scored a grand total of 2 goals between them. Bought Chapman. Never plays him. Bought Johnson. Already dropped. Dack has been his only standout signing. I'd include Rothwell, but he hasn't made his mind up about him.

Want to know a really depressing thought? Venkys have owned the club as long as Uncle Jack did, perhaps even longer.
-
I wouldn't trust him with a Tesco's voucher, let alone more money to piss up the wall.
-
You actually said "dodgy" which doesn't necessarily mean criminal. It wasn't against the law to have a spiv football agent effectively running the club, but it was certainly unethical.

Well you've already been proven wrong by

If we had the right infrastructure in place? Sure. Maybe. What I don't get, is that they're obviously no more hands-on than the Walker Trust were. If they hired a competent, objective board (and not the manager's mates) to run the club, gave them a budget and targets, we might get somewhere. Instead, the board are glorified bureaucrats and everything still has to be signed off from Pune.

If they wanted to bob along in mediocrity, they should've kept Bowyer. What was the point making an appointment like Lambert if there were no plans to back him?

I seem to remember Madam Desai was investigated for some shenanigans but that story appears to have been purged from the net. It's depressing looking back at topics from 2011 trying to get rid of the owners. A few fans thought we should take relegation as the nuclear option to get rid of them (I was probably among them) but the bastards have hung on like cockroaches. For what purpose? God only knows. It's almost been a decade of this shit. Can you believe it?

When you consider that Venky's and Ali Syed (who sunk Racing Santander) were the only serious bidders we had for the club (when we were an established, well-run Premier League set-up), it doesn't bode well for a future takeover does it? Granted, there wasn't quite the obscene amounts of money there is now. If only we hadn't become such a white elephant to those entrusted with Jack's legacy.

Don't most foreign owners bugger off once the novelty wears off?

"Shoot"

True enough. Trying to second-guess these people is the root of all madness. Nobody knows the final straw or even what targets the manager is working to. He's spoken about reaching the top six but most of that is smoke and mirrors.

The manager, players, and suits are all passing through. The vast majority of them are just collecting a paycheque, which is fair enough, but it's the fans who are always left to deal with the fallout. Problem is the supporters are depleted, disenfranchised and demoralised. They want their club back but lack the power to do so. The club is broken. To the outside world we might seem normalized but we all know the setup is bonkers and business in the short past still stinks to high heaven. Managers picking their mates for the boardroom, dodgy middlemen from Timbuktu as 'global advisers', it's no way to run a football club. What do Venkys get out of owning us? Have we become just another subsidiary of their business empire? Are they waiting for Balaji's son to come of age so he can take over the reins? What a truly frightening prospect.

Yup, this league is here for the taking. Burnley, Preston, they're unspectacular but organized with an unremitting work-rate. You obviously need the technical ability on the pitch and tactical nous in the dugout but those qualities can take you a long way.
-
My best guess would be they don't want to lose face by cutting their losses. They don't use Rovers to advertise their brand, and there's no glamour in owning an ailing, lower-league side that's losing money hand over fist. They're happy for us to plod along as long as the manager flies out to Pune every now and again to bow and scrape.
-
Strange they aren't looking to offload us.

Oh, my sweet summer child...

We dug in and won at Old Trafford during Kean's relegation season. Do you think they were all behind the manager?

Good Lord, the spin machine will be on overdrive next week!

He's still gotta go.

It's a bang average league.

Lawrence scores for Derby ?

Bell, Evans, Rothwell out Travis, Holtby, Downing in Sounds good on paper but the team's still unbalanced and playing the same old misfits.
