  1. We have no strength in depth at the back. Walton is pap but Leutwiler isn't any better. Bennett is a liability but so is Bell. However, it sends the wrong message when perennial underachievers are kept in the side.
  2. Don't tell me, that was during our unbeaten run?
  3. Please could you predict a resounding defeat for once in your life?
  4. I know what you mean. It's getting to the stage where we need things to get worse before they get better but the owners are so unpredictable I'd rather have points on the board.
  5. Most fans qualify that although Raya wasn't commanding and prone to gaffs, he at least pulled off some stunning saves. Walton doesn't appear to have any redeemable quality.
  6. Myles Anderson is still on course to become the next Chris Smalling. He'll make his England debut by the time he's 57.
  7. Think Leutwiler well have to play after Walton's recent howlers. He makes Alan Fettis look like Dino Zoff. Is Holtby out for this one?
  8. Celtic had a decent team back then. Were they better than us man-for-man? I'm not so sure.
  9. I don't know if it's just cognitive bias but I've never been confident of Rovers holding a lead. We always seem to make bloody hard work of it. However, we do appear to be particularly brittle under Mowbray.
  10. Jesus Christ, that "first 45mins at Deepdale" is turning into our Istanbul.
  11. He could turn up with a trillion dollar bill and Venkys would stonewall him. Gotta keep those skeletons in the closet.
  12. Yup, they could've kept John Williams & co. in situ and spared themselves all the payoffs and NDAs, not to mention the untold millions lost from the club's relegations. We still have no idea who's making the important decisions. I guess some things never change.
  13. How are players like Chapman, Graham supposed to keep their match sharpness if they don't play in the U-23s?
  14. It's because we have absentee owners who have no active participation in running the club. It creates a power vacuum which is quickly filled by status-seekers and jobs for the boys.
  15. Wasn't Uncle Jack also unhappy when we had to sack Woy? I remember hearing that he balled out the players afterwards. Tbh, I'd be angrier with the manager spunking £20m on Davies, Dailly, Ward and Blake
  16. It's embarrassing to think of the players we've let slip down the years: Roy Keane, Zinedine Zidane, Christophe Dugarry, John Carew, Patrik Andersson, Shay Given, Robert Lewandowski, probably more I'm forgetting.
  17. In the event Mowbray would deign to give Chapman a run-out in the first team, you know he'd drop him as soon as he failed to make an impression. Meanwhile, Bennett, Armstrong, Williams, Bell etc. can go missing week in, week out without penalty.
  18. Not for me. This club needs promotion and there's no reason why we shouldn't have been aiming for the playoffs. Poor recruitment in key positions and tinkerman tactics have put paid to that.
  19. Harry Chapman must have really cheesed off the gaffer if he can't even make the matchday squad with all our injuries and perennial underperformers. I want us to play with some attacking width and tempo, rather than all this 'tippy-tappy in front of the opposition' bollox that goes nowhere. As Barry Fry once said in the Big Ron Manager docu: "If he's fit, then play the c*nt!"
  20. It's strange when you look back at the likes of Ripley, Wilcox, Gillespie. Those old fashioned, direct wingers who strive to take it to the byline and whip in a cross. What was wrong with that?
  21. I wish we could just have a consistent line-up. I know Mowbray thinks he's being proactive when he chops and changes the team every week to second-guess the opposition but it doesn't engender any continuity or confidence. I'd like us to keep it simple: Chapman & Rothwell on the wings, Holtby and Travis in the middle, Dack and Gallagher up-front. Not that I'm convinced Gallagher is the answer but we can't have £5m+ rotting on the bench (or the wing!).
  22. We'll stay up this season (barely), Mowbray will get the boot in the summer, we'll cash-in on Dack, Lenihan, Rothwell, Travis to comply with FFP then appoint someone like Warren Joyce as manager.
  23. Didn't the two Ians (Battersby and Currie) once approach Venkys with an offer to run the club for them? Predictably they were met with radio silence. I couldn't claim to know their credentials for running a football club but I'd like to think two local businessmen are less self-interested than the previous lot Venkys have hired.
