  2. I expect better from the man who wrote Business Secrets of the Pharaohs.
  3. Downing wasn't happy playing left-back for Liverpool at the peak of his career, doubt he'll fancy it here.
  4. Not sure he'd be best pleased with that https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stewart-downing-being-played-left-back-8104315
  5. Doubt he'll get a look-in tbh. What's he been up to? Playing in the U23s?
  6. Which makes Mowbray's blase response even more perplexing. "I dunno, I don't ask physios straight away" He must have a lot of faith in Bell.
  7. You ever get the sense that some clubs are just 'broken'? Probably something of an understatement with our clowns in charge, I know. In recent years, other clubs like Sunderland and Stoke have all appointed experienced, bright managers who turned everything they touched to dust. This is in no way an attempt to absolve Mowbray of responsibility, especially as he's received more financial backing than previous incumbents. You might argue that was his reward for winning promotion and establishing us back in the Championship. He still must carry the can for the schoolboy tactics and dubious transfer strategies which threaten to stagnate our progress. However, whenever we speculate about the managers we could attract, I can't shake the gnawing feeling that no matter who comes through the door they are doomed to fail.
  8. Complete waste of resources. Why sign a winger when you're going to shoehorn strikers out wide?
  9. And they've just signed someone called Dodoo. You couldn't make it up.
  10. People know we have two games before this one, right?
  11. Even in Mowbray's promotion season we never looked that convincing.
  12. Most troubling thing is that QPR are a bang-average Championship side who managed to bang four past us without breaking a sweat. Not the first time we've capitulated like that. We also seem to end up on the backfoot as soon as we score one. Yesterday we pulled one back but instead of gaining the ascendancy we immediately let QPR restore their lead.
  13. Oh really? Wondered if there was a reason he's becoming the next Alan Curbishley.
  14. Not saying Chapman will be the answer to our prayers but he's a direct winger who's not afraid to take people on. If that's the way we want to play why aren't we utilising the most suitable players for it?
  15. Billy Davies has a decent record at this level but he hasn't managed for five years so maybe he's spent? Anyway, there's the likes of Moyes, Sparky, Pearson, Adkins, Coleman. A decent shortlist to start with. Although we'll probably bob along with ToMo to see how bad it can get.
  16. Yeah, he sounded like a footballing dinosaur in his analysis of the game. Whether he was condescending to the interviewer or what, I don't know but his tactical awareness would seem to suggest otherwise.
  17. Nigel Adkins, Nigel Pearson, Chris Coleman Need a change.
  18. You've got to ask yourself, are we a work in progress? Is there a discernible gameplan here? Mowbray is just winging it. He's made questionable signings (Brereton, Gallagher, Chapman) and still doesn't know his best XI or how we're setup to play. And if people only want to back Mowbray because they're afraid of the alternative, need I remind you it was Venkys who hired Mowbray in the first place.
  19. Yup, no system or structure. Square pegs in round holes. £12m spunked on two flops. Same old defensive mistakes. Not going forward with this guy. Would anyone give Chris Coleman a shot? Trying to think who's out of work atm.
  20. Why did he even buy Chapman?
  21. lol fecking hopeless.
  22. Nice knowing you, OEB.
  23. BBC saying we've offered absolutely nowt but Rothwell has been our only bright spark.
