A lot of hype for this lad. Hope he delivers.

That's the scariest thing, that it comes on spontaneously. They still aren't 100% sure what causes it, as it's not genetic. -
Complete toss-up. If we want to play on the break, I wonder if we should play Rothwell AND Armstrong, as opposed to our usual workmanlike pace. Hit 'em hard early, then bring on Downing etc. to close it out.

Same as Jermaine Jones, dual citizenship.

Things you dislike about football.

Final Score the other week had a female host, a female pundit and a female analyst. There were more women discussing the men's game than fellas. I don't have a problem with women being involved but the BBC are just blatant with their agenda. If the roles were reversed there would be an outcry. -
They're not mutually exclusive. You can enjoy the collective victory while criticising individual performances.

An under-performing player copping flak from the fans? Oh the humanity!

Ah, I see you're a man of culture, as well. Unlike "I don't like things that are different"

How does a shirker like Armstrong walk into the first XI but Rothwell and Chapman are hung out to dry?

A more even-contest means that we have nothing to fear from anyone in this league. Not quite the same as visiting teams who have spent £500m+ more than you.

There aren't truly any "tough" games in The Championship. The gulf in class is not that wide compared to what you'd find in the top flight. Anyone can beat anyone on their day.

Every year that passes brings us one step closer to Venky's pulling the plug. When that happens, Rovers will follow Bolton and Notts County into freefall and face the possibility of extinction. It's not scaremongering, it's the reality of the situation. When we were an established, well-oiled Premier League club we couldn't attract any serious buyers other than the jokers we're lumbered with now. No one will want to salvage a debt-ridden championship basketcase that probably has more skeletons than a graveyard. The only way Rovers can secure their long-term future is with Premier League football. What's the plan? Spin the wheel and risk another Coyle or keep hoping Mowbray stumbles on the winning formula?

Way I understand it, the "fit and proper owner" test basically amounts to 1: have they been disqualified as a financial director 2. do they have a criminal record. The reason it's not more stringent is because the EFL are afraid of litigation if the buyer is not allowed to proceed.

Sheffield united away- League cup
Amo replied to Bigdoggsteel's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
In the summer there would've been plenty of freebies at home or abroad. Renewing Leutwiler smacks of complacency. We're only one injury or loan recall away from him being our no 1. -

Leutwiler is pap. Why he was kept on another year, I do not know. There would've been tons of unattached goalies we could've taken a punt on this summer. -

Anyone remember the "Big Ron Manager" docu? Car crash tele at its finest. At one point, Jeff Stelling narrates the plight of lower league clubs caused by the Bosman ruling and the collapse of ITV Digital . Suspiciously quiet about Sky's part in all this. -

We've rested players dozens of times and never looked any fresher for it. Might as well field a competitive side. -
I would imagine our current tactic of using Gallagher as a long ball outlet is better suited to away games, when we need to push teams back and relieve pressure, as opposed to at home where the onus is on us to take the game to them. The sooner we can get Chapman to first team fitness the better. We need some proper wide players to give us that penetration instead of shoehorning strikers on the wing.
