Would've played Johnson instead of Evans. Bennett rested for the weekend ? -

Thought the server crash was down to Mowbray's exit.
-
Of course, but it made their job a helluva lot easier.

Glug glug, wink wink.

We're 7 points off the drop. It's not a must-win game. Most fans aren't giving us much chance regardless of who the manager plays. If we're to salvage anything from these big-money signings, they need to play. Starting on the wing one week, the odd cameo the next, now that's counter-productive. They need to play in their proper positions and they need good service. That's why I'd give them that first 45mins to prove themselves. Psychologically, playing together might work, as they share that weight of expectation instead of wilting as the lone man. Again, this is what I'd be tempted to do. I know full well where you're coming from. -
You also have to consider if coaching is a factor. I've seen a few digs at Ben Benson, promoted from within the academy staff. Was he another example of the club dumbing down?
-
That "performance" pretty much sealed Allardyce's fate. Not that he wasn't headed for the exit anyway.

Obviously, I know what you're saying but what do we do with our £12m strike-force? Watch them depreciate in value on the bench? It's not like either of them are impact players. We don't have that much to lose in this game. Brereton seems to prefer playing off the last defender, that's why I'd play Rothwell & Chapman as wingers to stretch the opposition, instead of playing everything through Dack in the middle. Like I said, if it's not working after 45mins, call in the cavalry. -
Incidentally, the amount of ads on the LT site is cancer. What a mess.

Please. Everyone knows Armstrong runs very fast and Bennett "drives the team".

Fergie was always rubbing his hands when Big Sam came to town.

And Walton's still a downgrade. What does that tell ya? -
Fair enough. I will have to defer to those who have seen play regularly. However, he was getting rave reviews here: https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/september/harry-nominated-for-monthly-award

Wasn't he performing well in the U23s earlier in the season? Still never got a league appearance. Meanwhile the usual suspects play week in, week out. Where's the incentive?

Half-serious. I'm fed up of seeing £12m wasted on the bench or playing in the wrong position. I'd give them at least the first 45 and ensure we have the players to give them the service. With Dack, Graham, Holtby and Downing on the bench there's plenty of options to turn it around. -

Leutwiler Nyambe Lenihan Tosin Williams Chapman Travis Johnson Rothwell Brereton Gallagher Classic 4-4-2. Give Chapman and Rothwell license to pepper the box. Time for the front two to earn their bacon. Bring on Dack/Graham when it goes pear-shaped. -
Ainsworth has actual managerial experience. And an outsider has more chance of stamping his authority.
-
Internal promotions rarely ever work out. Not unless the club has the right infrastructure and philosophy already in place. Damo might get off to a good start (new manager bounce etc.) but you're effectively asking a U23 coach to learn on the job in a competitive division. Why take the risk when there's proven managers out there?
-
Based on what?

Hope he gets a good reception tomorrow. Mowbray obviously didn't rate him. Hung him out to dry in the press and couldn't wait to flog him once he saw those £££ signs flashing. Thought he could be cute and swap him for Walton and no one would spot the difference. He was wrong.
-
Weird one was Hodgson. I don't think he's ever tanked as dramatically as he did here in 98/99. Then again, when you spend £20m on Davies, Dailly, and Blake, what do you expect? What's the opposite of a chequebook manager?
-
I'd rather he was sacked tbh, at least it would show some awareness of the situation.
