It's Charlton at home, we need to be taking the game to teams like Charlton. Mowbray has no justification starting Downing ahead of Rothwell in this game imo. Like another poster said total madness Mowbray can't see how much of a difference Rothwell makes to this side

Brererton hasn't had the impact a 7 million signing should have but i still believe we have signed a good player, and a player who I fully believe will go on to have a better career than Joe Nuttall. Too many people within the game talk up brererton's ability for him to be a dud. Read an article featuring Mick Rathbone, who has worked with Brererton at Forest and England youth, he is of the opinion that Brererton has the potential to be a 30+ million pound player

How many times you watched Grayson? Iv only seen him a couple of times but looked handy.Dont think he should be starting left back but wondering why you think he is non league? Is it because you believe that he only in the game due to help from daddy or are you basing your opinion after watching him extensively?

well not if we are taking Mowbray at his word, he said we sold our goalkeeper to help bring in a striker and centre half, we aint bought a centre half yet

Downing as a replacement for Conway, in my opinion he will offer us more. Bradley Johnson was one of Derby's better players last year and has been one of the better midfielders in the championship throughout his career, it would be nice if he was a few years younger but can see him playing a big role this season.. Travis Johnson Arma/Rothwell, Dack, Rothwell/Downing Compare that to our team at Derby how is it not an improvement? Plus if Chapman gets over his fitness issues and if Butterworth can step up, in my opinion we are much improved in both midfield and attack compared to 12 months ago

I do think Reed is a good player but if so good and class like you say then why aint teams bursting down Southamptons door to get him?He isn't getting a look In there.And as much as we criticise Mowbray for not playing him in central mid, it was the same story at Norwich, he was played at RB. Johnson bossed our midfield the game at Derby.

we desperately need some new defenders, but midfield has been improved also. Travis and Johnson a much better midfield pairing thsn Evans and Smallwood, altho Mowbray will probably start with Travis on the bench. Downing is getting on but looks fit,and feel he will play more of a part for us than Conway did last couple of years. Our defence does need addressing but in my opinion the midfield and the foward areas have been improved

This particular player played 36 games in the championship last season and City did give him a 25k a week contract so he is bound to have something about him. Looks a good loan signing to me.

other clubs take loans from the premier league aswell.Derby and Villa made the play offs last season with quite a few loans between them. No problem with loaning players if they are of a decent pedigree which this City player looks to have. He played 36 times for a play off team last season if City are heavily subsidising his wages then good move on our part. Downing and Johnson wouldn't have signed for peanuts either, not disputing venkys are crap owners but we spent money last season and are spending money this summer aswell
