Why what young full back do we have that is ready this season to challenge Pickering? Every single championship side signs young players on loan from Premier league clubs. -
Yeah 2nd series was even better than the 1st.Only hope there will be another after the production company went bust.

JRC ,Szmodic and A.Wharton have all recently signed new deals and one would presume on much better money. They all had stronger negotiation positions since they last signed contracts. -

I'm taking JDTs word that Travis asked to leave here not once but twice. Before JRC got injured he was preferred to Travis in midfield ,so that's 3 ahead of him when everybody fit. Like I said I'd want to see what else we bring in before I'd give a full judgement on it, but I can see 100% why Travis would have been demanding of a move away when he isn't getting minutes in his preferred position and seemingly the manager prefers a player with different attributes to Travis to play that role. -

Do you start Travis ahead of Tronstad or Wharton? It isn't quite clear the club were engineering a move to get him out, il take JDTs word, Travis wants to play as a holding midfielder and JDT prefers another player in that position. Travis doesn't want to be a sub here. Can you think of many players of Travs age staying at their clubs after going from captain and playing week in week out in his preferred position to then being on the bench most weeks and when they do get on the field it's out of position? It's all well and good you or me or whoever saying "Travis would still play and get his chances from the bench". If he asked to leave both in the summer and October like JDT said then a move was best for all concerned. Il see where we are at at the end of the window before I rush to Judgement, if 4 or 5 come in on the back of Hill and Travis leaving and a couple have some experience then I'm not going to be too upset over losing the managers 3rd or 4th choice midfielder. -

As JDT said Travis sees himself as a 6 playing the holding role, perhaps the signing of Tronstad put Travs nose out of joint. Id agree with JDT personally, Travis has energy and Is up and down the pitcg I don't think disciplined enough just sitting and collecting the ball from the back and starting moves off which is what JDT wants from a 6 -

Id tend to agree but I don't know what has gone on behind the scenes.Perhaps Travis had become more demanding for a move away in recent weeks.Travis has had plenty of shit games too, no saying results would have been different if had of got more minutes -

He has an experienced player in Tronstad in the position Travis wants to play in. Travis asked to leave,I'm sure JDT would have been delighted to keep Travis as a bench option for his experience etc. Travis has gone from a shoe in and captain of the team to 3rd or 4th choice midfielder. How has JDT engineered Travis move?By preferring another player in the position Travis wants to play? How does this move dispel JDTs complaints over a lack of experience? -

Yeah but come on JH the player has a say too and there is no way Travis will have been happy sitting on the bench.Tronstad is a better defensive midfielder than him.Travis will have been angling for a move away and due to mismanagement we can't afford to have a 3rd,4th or 5th choice midfielder as one of our higher earners. They just gave Szmodic and Wharton new deals and both would have had quite a jump in money. Both were in a great negotiating position, with Wharton the club's crown jewel and Szmodic one of the players of the championship so far this season. -

Didn't Broughton and Waggott both say in the summer players would have to be moved out to bring others in due to finances? Travis wasn't happy and asked to leave in the summer and again in October. If Travis had been starting every week we wouldn't be loaning him to Ipswich When was the last time Travis started a game in his preferred role as a holding midfielder? -

They are two totally different type of player. Do we know a defensive midfielder won't be signed before the window ends? Travis isnt getting in ahead of Wharton or Tronstad, or JRC when he is back fit.He will not have been happy going from captain on the field to captain on the bench. -

Travis isnt going to want to stay here . He is behind Tronstad and Wharton, JRC was put in the midfield ahead of him when he was fit.The way both the manager and Broughton have spoken going forward Garrett will be ahead of him. I like Travis but I wouldn't have him in the starting line up ahead of Wharton or Tronstad and Travis is not going to be happy being a club captain who rarely plays or being shoehorned in at full back when we have players out His experience and shithousery will be missed but I just don't see the player being happy with the situation and sometimes it is just better to part before it causes issues behind the scenes But with a number of appearances under his belt at this level and some very good performances I hope it will be a decent enough fee -

Did Mowbray work under the restrictions that JDT does. In the space of 12 months he had near £13 or 14 mil to spend on Armstrong Brererton and Gallagher FFS and could sign experienced players , Johnson , downing etc His last couple of seasons the backing disappeared but still in the COVID season 12 players came In the door.He also got to sign the fullback with the most assists in the league in January the following year in January and could turn down the loan of Cameron Archer Not comparable with what JDT has had to deal with Id agree with some criticism of JDT but not the calling of his head I don't think he is a god and there are things he has done I don't agree with but his coaching got us 7th last season , and in parts of this season we have looked good ,the squad is stretched and we have had to play the Christmas period with a lot out ,I'd agree he should maybe change tact for now like Watford away but I don't think he warrants being sacked. He deserves a bit of backing in January and for a few players to come back -

Most clubs are getting away with it. In the top ten goalscorers in the league this season only 3 of them are centre forwards.Piroe, the lad who scored against us for Watford with 8 goals and Adam Armstrong who has played wide aswell this season. It would be great to find a decent centre forward and I'm not arguing one is needed but the championship isn't awash with them and goals for most teams come from others rather than a striker -

A loan or 2 will still happen imo.Did the Indian judge ok the raft of new improved contracts recently signed or sigurrdson signing permanently? If we were struggling to keep the club going then I don't think we would have been seeing as many renewals,I don't think the players would be keen to put pen to paper either if there where doubts we could pay them going forward -

I still feel the squad is a top half squad.I just believe that with the exception of a few clubs 7 injuries would be felt by most clubs. Iv had a quick glance and Hull for example have a decent enough 18 after that it would be kids, similarly with Sunderland ,Bristol city etc. And looking at the squads there is hardly any team with a 3rd choice goalkeeper with experience. We usually do bring in 1 or 2 in January so I'd expect it to happen this year also. -

How are you not having it?Do you really believe the majority of clubs in the championship have 7 players with championship experience not making their bench every week?Even 4 or 5 Do you really believe the majority of the division have 25 man squads filled with experience?Iv just shown you Sunderlands bench from yesterday looks pretty weak to me and that's without any injury issues And I have answered because we have 4 important squad players to return with the likelihood that 1 or 2 loans will happen. In the previous 2 seasons we didn't have these injury issues in the first half of the season. -

I disagree, if other clubs had that list of injuries then there benches would be shit too.Obviously I'm not talking about all the squads but take Sunderland and Hull as 2 examples as both in the top half ,if they had 7 first team players out injured there benches would also be filled with kids. Do many championship clubs have third choice goalkeepers with senior experience,I doubt they do. And we have 4 players with championship experience in Gallagher,JRC, Dolan and Hedges to welcome back for the second half of the season and likely 1 or 2 will arrive on loan . This was Sunderland's bench yesterday ,take 7 players away like we had yesterday
